Forces in Struggle in the Country and the City Today in Brazil: Beyond a Dualistic Understanding  [PDF]
Célia Regina Vendramini
Current Urban Studies (CUS) , 2015, DOI: 10.4236/cus.2015.31006
Abstract: Is it still possible to distinguish the line that separates the country and the city? How do rural and urban workers produce their life today? What are the characteristics that distinguish or approximate them? What movements of resistance have been observed? These questions guide our reflections about the relationship between urban and rural space. Based on a study in the urban pe-riphery and in encampments and settlements of the Landless Rural Workers Movements in Brazil, we seek to understand alternative forms of occupation of space today.
Violência na intimidade juvenil: Da vitima??o à perpetra??o
Caridade,Sónia; Machado,Carla;
Análise Psicológica , 2006,
Abstract: international research on dating violence relationships has increased exponentially, especially in the last two decades. also in portugal, some studies have been conducted in this area. this article intends to present a review of the current body of literature about this theme, focused on the prevalence rates of this kind of abuse, and with a special emphasis on the relationship between victimization, aggression and gender. simultaneously, beliefs and attitudes about this form of violence are analysed, as well as the risk factors to its occurrence, and it?s impact of violence in life of the young persons involved. this article concludes discussing some suggestions for future research in order to achieve a better comprehension of this problem.
Violência sexual no namoro: Relevancia da preven??o
Caridade,Sónia; Machado,Carla;
Psicologia , 2008,
Abstract: this article presents a systematic review of the current body of literature about sexual violence in dating relationships. this review was based on the articles published during the 1985-2006 period in the databases psycarticles, psycinfo1887, sociology: a sage full-text collection, ebsco-host: research databases e ibss - international bibliography of the social science, as well as on the analysis of books published during the same period. based on this revision, this text presents the prevalence rates of sexual violence between dating partners and analyses its risk factors. the prevention culture on this topic is also described, exploring the different kinds of preventive actions and their efficacy. in conclusion, reflections about the limitations of the prevention program conduced in this area are made and some suggestions for future actions with youth populations are presented.

Annelise Agertoft
Tidsskriftet for Universiteternes Efter- og Videreuddannelse , 2004,
Abstract: F rste gang publiceret i UNEV nr. 2: E-l ringsplatforme - muligheder og potentialer, januar - marts 2004, red. Tom Nyvand og Michael Pedersen. ISSN 1603-5518.

Annelise Grinsted
Tidsskriftet for Universiteternes Efter- og Videreuddannelse , 2006,
Abstract: F rste gang publiceret i UNEV nr. 7: E-l ring i sprogfag, juni 2006, red. Signe Hvid Maribo og Ole Lauridsen. ISSN 1603-5518.
Dissecting Emerging Aspects of Regulatory Circuitry in Man and Mice: Regulatory T Cell Biology  [PDF]
Tania Rahman, Md. Ferdous Seraj, Annelise Casellato
Advances in Bioscience and Biotechnology (ABB) , 2018, DOI: 10.4236/abb.2018.99031
Abstract: Regulatory T cells (Treg), a component of adaptive immunity, are well known for their immunosuppressive roles and their ability to maintain the balance between the immunological and pathological reactions. Treg have been shown to provide protective responses and their depletion has resulted severe pathology in some pathogen infections. The work presented here has unravelled the potential of regulatory cells in the immune system including different repertoir of Treg cell subsets, markers to distinguish them, Treg suppression mechanisms in the pathogenesis of various infections and summarize different mouse models depleting Tregs. These findings would help set up future avenues of research to elucidate a key mechanism of action of these cells and provide new therapeutic insights for pathogenesis and also for broader antibacterial/antiviral/antiproliferative immunity.
Unravelling the Functions of Regulatory T Cells during Infection  [PDF]
Tania Rahman, Md Ferdous Seraj, Annelise Casellato
Open Journal of Medical Microbiology (OJMM) , 2018, DOI: 10.4236/ojmm.2018.84011
Abstract: Accumulating evidences have suggested that Treg have an active role in the regulation of immunity to infection. Treg suppress not only autoimmune responses but also other immune responses for instance, during acute infections, against commensal microbes in inflammatory diseases or during chronic illness. Treg have been shown to limit exacerbated inflammation to avoid collateral tissue damage. Treg are also suggested to provide early protective responses in some viral infections as the permitting timely entry of effector cells in infected tissue. Furthermore, Treg have been shown to contribute to form memory pool after resolution of infection. In this review, we survey and analysis our current knowledge and relative dynamics of Treg in a wide range of infection settings and elaborate the examples in which these cells are of critical importance in conferring tolerance, suppressing pathogenesis, inducing protection and optimizing immunity to eliminate infection.
