de la Pea Pino,Roberto R.;
Revista Cubana de Investigaciones Biom??dicas , 2002,
Abstract: an analysis was made taking as a compulsory reference the set of the most important laws and regulations put into effect by the member countries of the european community that have also created working groups in charge of the flow of information of any type, including the new legislations, use of alternatives and the control of the procedures in the experiments, among other functions. it was also included what was established by canada and the united states and, on referring to cuba, it is explained what has been done up to now as regards the use of animals by a series of measurements taken by the center of production of laboratory animals. the specific situation of the research and teaching centers of medical sciences was approached, making emphasis on the most common deficiencies that may appear as a result of an inadequate application of the ethic principles and of the secondary resolutions of the council of international medical sciences organizations. finally, the steps to be taken by the ethic committee in each center and by the national medical ethic commission are suggested in order to face the negative aspects.

MRI-Brachytheraphy of Cervical Carcinoma—A Pictorial Review for the Radiologist  [PDF]
M. Jiménez de la Pea, E. del Cerro Pe?alver, E. Alvárez Moreno, R. Cano Alonso, V. Martínez de Vega
Open Journal of Radiology (OJRad) , 2012, DOI: 10.4236/ojrad.2012.23015
Abstract: Exact staging of cervical malignant neoplasms is essential in the selection of the most favorable therapy. MR imaging plays a comprehensive role in primary tumor staging. It monitors response to treatment, detects recurrence and helps in the planning of radiotherapy. Patients with advanced disease usually receive external-beam radiation therapy followed by intracavitary brachytherapy with concurrent chemotherapy. Brachytherapy based on cross-sectional imaging, especially MR imaging, improves local control and overall survival. MRI-based brachytherapy allows accurate positioning of the probe and the depiction of the tumor volume contour, which also permits individualized treatment planning. In order to obtain successful radiation treatment, the radiologist must provide the radiation oncologist with adequate knowledge regarding this technique and its possible complications.
Tratamiento multisistémico en adolescentes con trastorno disocial

Salud Pública de México , 2003, DOI: 10.1590/S0036-36342003000700016
Abstract: this paper reviews the main features of conduct disorder (cd), as well as the principles for diagnosis and multisystemic treatment (mst). mst includes biological, psychological and social interventions, and considers the ecological environment of conduct manifestations. some outcomes of mst delivery are discussed, along with its advantages and potential applications.
Electron-phonon coupling and two-band superconductivity of Al- and C-doped MgB2
O. De la Pea-Seaman,R. de Coss,R. Heid,K. -P. Bohnen
Physics , 2010, DOI: 10.1103/PhysRevB.82.224508
Abstract: We have studied the electron-phonon and superconducting properties of the Mg{1-x}AlxB2 and MgB{2(1-y)}C{2y} alloys within the framework of density functional theory using the self-consistent virtual-crystal approximation. For both alloys, the Eliashberg spectral functions and the electron-phonon coupling constants have been calculated in the two-band model for several concentrations up to x(Al)=0.55 and y(C)=0.175. We solved numerically the two-band Eliashberg gap equations without considering interband scattering. Using a single parameter for the Coulomb pseudopotential, which was determined for the undoped compound, we were able to reproduce the experimental doping dependence of Delta_sigma, Delta_pi, and T_c for both alloys on a quantitative level. In particular, the observed differences in the doping range of superconductivity between Al and C doping indicate a pronounced influence of the doping site, which can be explained naturally in the present approach without the need to invoke interband scattering, suggesting that this factor plays only a minor role.
ACERCAMIENTO AL ACCIONAR éTICO-MORAL DEL CIENTíFICO QUE TRABAJA CON ANIMALES DE EXPERIMENTACIóN
Concepción Alfonso,ángel R; de la Pea Pino,R; García Capote,J;
Acta bioethica , 2007, DOI: 10.4067/S1726-569X2007000100002
Abstract: the vertiginous advance of the scientific technical revolution and the use not always rational and ethical of animals in research, has provoked that many researchers worry about the future of animal species used, which has been the topic of many studies in the last decade. multiple regulations have been formulated and the application of ethical principles in research has been considered. this paper considers the use of alternative methods in research with animals whenever possible, reviews the principle of the three rs and other related aspects and reflect on the responsibilities of the scientist with the end product of his/her results
