Texto & Contexto - Enfermagem , 2013,

Abstract: the present work is aimed at analyzing the efficiency of decision support models which are based on mathematical programming to help with the choice of the adequate period for sowing, as well as, the technological pattern (high, medium and low yield) to the cultivation of wheat in relation to the losses which can be caused by frost, giberella, hail and excessive rain during the harvest season. the economical results were defined from data gathered in a group of 27 production units in ijuí and surroundings. the levels and probabilities of the losses were estimated through review of specialized literature, also considering the experience of farmers and technicians of the region. it was suggested that the model which provided more support for the decision taking was the maximization model of gross margin restricted to reaching a determined economical result in a pre-established probability.

CERNE , 2011,
Abstract: The objective of this work was to determine concentrations of extractives and total lignin along with their radial and longitudinal variations in wood from a clone of Eucalyptus grandis W.Hill ex Maiden x Eucalyptus urophylla S. T. Blake at age six years. Longitudinal samples were taken at 2%, 10%, 30% and 70% of the commercial height of trees, and radial samples were taken from each longitudinal position, the number of samples depending on the diameter of each disk. Results led to the conclusion that, overall, concentrations of extractives and total lignin in the wood tended to decrease with increasing distance from the pith and tended to increase in portions closer to the tree base.

Revista Saúde.Com , 2010,
Abstract: The Ethics Commitee in Research of the State University of the Southeast of Bahia – CEP/UESB emerged within a context of concerns about ethic involvement regarding the care and theresearch that involve human beings. This paper aims to recover the history of the CEP/UESB and to relate the experience of the CEP/UESB. The discussions about ethics in research realized by the Ethics Council of the UESB Campus of Jequié led to the creation of the CEP/UESB, whose register was approved by the CONEP in November 2005 and renewed in November 2008. The documental analysis revealed that, between 2005 and the beginning of April 2010, 966 projects were submitted to the CEP/UESB, with a year average of 161 projects. Among those projects, 99,48% (961) were from Group III, while 0,52% (5) were from Group I, belonging to the area of Human Genetics. Between 2008 and the beginning of April 2010, 405 projects (70,68%) were approved, while only 5 (five) projects (0,87%) were not permitted. Near 16,58% (95) of the projects were retired, while 6,11 % (10) remained pending till the beginning of April 2010 and 1,05% (6) were canceled. In the five years past since its implementation, the CEP/UESB has confronted difficulties in its running, principally infrastructural ones, but it has also demonstrated many potentialities, as it contributes significantly to the refining of the researches involving human beings and their development according to the ethical norms indicated by Resolution 196/96.

International Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health , 2013, DOI: 10.3390/ijerph10126820
Abstract: This exploratory and cross-sectional study aimed to identify the prevalence of bullying in a group of students and analyze the data regarding the gender of those involved in the violence. A questionnaire adapted from Olweus was applied in seven elementary education schools in Portugal. The sample consisted of 387 students between 7 and 14 years old. Data are presented in terms of descriptive statistics and differences between proportions were analyzed using chi-square tests. The gender analysis of victimization and aggression shows that boys and girls are both victims and aggressors, and there are significant differences in involvement in bullying between genders and the roles played. Boys are victims more often when considering different types of bullying, although significant differences were only found for physical aggression. Strategies that include gender roles are a priority for prevention and careful attention to this phenomenon in the school context. The questions addressed contribute to a broader understanding of the phenomenon, emphasizing the differential participation of boys and girls in bullying.

Silva, Elyara Maria Pereira-da;Oliveira, Ricardo Henrique Franco de;Ribeiro, Maria Angélica Rosa;Coppola, Milena Pereira;
Ciência Rural , 2009, DOI: 10.1590/S0103-84782009005000127
Abstract: the anesthetic effect of clove oil on lambari (astyanax altiparanae) was evaluated by exposing five groups of 30 fry (0.6±0.1g) to concentrations of 50, 75, 100, 125 and 150mg l-1 and measuring the induction time to deep anesthesia (characterized by loss of equilibrium, absence of swimming, reduction of opercular movements, and responses only to intense tactile stimuli), recovery time, and mortality rate after exposure. another phase of the experiment (10 fish/treatment) involved recording the induction time and recovering after surgical anesthesia (slow irregular opercular movements and loss of reaction to stimuli), and mortality rates after six minutes of exposure to each concentration of clove oil. induction time decreased linearly (0.01 minute for each mg of additional anesthetic) and recovery time increased quadratically as the concentration increased (maximum estimated response in 7.1 minutes). deep anesthesia occurred in less than 1.5 minute at all the concentrations, with faster recovery and zero mortality at 50mg l-1. the fastest induction to deep anesthesia occurred at concentrations of 75 and 100mg l-1, but resulted in mortality rates of 80% and 100%, respectively. the 50mg l-1 concentration resulted in surgical anesthesia in 3.29±0.71 minutes and recovery in 4.97±0.63 minutes, without mortality. it was concluded that clove oil has an anesthetic effect on lambari and that 50mg l-1 is an efficient and safe concentration for inducing deep anesthesia in up to 1.5 minute and surgical anesthesia in up to 3,3 minutes of exposure.

Abstract: allozyme, microsatellite and random amplified polymorphic dna (rapd) molecular markers were used to investigate the within and between population genetic variability and between population genetic differentiation of the brazilian stingless bee uru?u amarela (nominally melipona rufiventris lepeletier, 1836) present in savanna and atlantic forest habitats of the brazilian state of minas gerais (mg). we found low levels of within population variability, although there were a large number of private alleles that specifically characterized these populations. the fst values indicated a high level of genetic diversity between populations. analysis of molecular variance (amova) showed a high degree of population differentiation between the savanna and atlantic forest habitats, confirmed by population pairwise fst data. principal coordinates analysis and unweighted pair-group method using an arithmetic average (upgma) dendrograms also confirmed that in minas gerais the savanna populations (m. rufiventris) were genetically distinct from those present in the atlantic forest (m. mondury). in addition, populations from locations near the towns of dom bosco and brasilandia de minas were genetically different from those collected in other localities in the savanna. our data indicate that populations of uru?u amarela found in the savanna and atlantic forest habitats of minas gerais state should be treated separately for conservation purposes and that special attention should be given to the populations found in the region of dom bosco and brasilandia de minas until their taxonomic status is clarified.
