A Study on the Tendency of Sole Proprietorship for American-Funded Investment in China and Our Countermeasures

Abstract: In recent years, many well-known foreign-funded enterprises have accelerated their pace of sole-proprietorship in China. Among them, American-funded ones occupy a large portion of the market share. By means of stock expansion, capital increase and internal acquisition, more and more American partners in co-invested enterprises have managed to control the whole business after years of operation. If we identify the tendency of foreign-funded enterprises toward sole proprietorship and grasp the essence of it, we will be fully armed to improve the quality of using foreign capital in China and strengthen the core competence of Chinese enterprises. Thus, I here present the paper on the tendency of sole proprietorship for foreign-funded enterprises in China, taking the American-funded ones as the specification of the analysis, with a view to providing our countermeasures from the global perspective.
Codon Deviation Coefficient: a novel measure for estimating codon usage bias and its statistical significance

Abstract: Here we propose a novel measure--Codon Deviation Coefficient (CDC)--that provides an informative measurement of CUB and its statistical significance without requiring any prior knowledge. Unlike previous measures, CDC estimates CUB by accounting for background nucleotide compositions tailored to codon positions and adopts the bootstrapping to assess the statistical significance of CUB for any given sequence. We evaluate CDC by examining its effectiveness on simulated sequences and empirical data and show that CDC outperforms extant measures by achieving a more informative estimation of CUB and its statistical significance.As validated by both simulated and empirical data, CDC provides a highly informative quantification of CUB and its statistical significance, useful for determining comparative magnitudes and patterns of biased codon usage for genes or genomes with diverse sequence compositions.Codon usage bias or CUB, a phenomenon in which synonymous codons (that encode the same amino acid) are used at different frequencies, is generally believed to be a combined outcome of mutation pressure, natural selection, and genetic drift [1-5]. Within any given species, genes often exhibit variable degrees of CUBs. Moreover, CUB for an individual gene is related closely with gene expression for translational efficiency and/or accuracy [6-10]. Therefore, the ability to accurately quantify CUBs for protein-coding sequences is of fundamental importance in revealing the underlying mechanisms behind codon usage and understanding gene evolution and function in general.Over the past few years, a number of measures have been proposed for the quantification of CUB [11-23], leading to investigations on the pattern of CUBs within and across species [24-30]. Abstract: 目的 探讨41 ℃及43 ℃温热疗(MH)触发聚乙二醇化脂质体阿霉素(PLD)释放阿霉素治疗兔VX2肿瘤的疗效差异。方法 12只VX2移植瘤兔随机分为2组:PLD+41 ℃ MH组(n=6)和PLD+43 ℃ MH组(n=6)。为达到完全的肿瘤缓解,进行多次高剂量耳缘静脉推注给药(5 mg/kg,每周1次,共治疗3次),使用嵌入式超声温热治疗仪对肿瘤部位进行30 min局部MH。结果 在观察终点,PLD+41 ℃ MH组血管形成指数(VI)、瘤体质量、外周血谷草转氨酶(GOT)、乳酸脱氢酶(LDH)、肌酸激酶(CPK)值均明显低于PLD+43 ℃ MH组。结论 同43 ℃下30 min MH相比,41 ℃下30 min MH联合PLD可以明显提高抗肿瘤疗效,降低系统毒性。
: Objective To investigate the difference in efficacy between doxorubicin released by 41 ℃ and 43 ℃ mild hyperthermia (MH) triggered-pegylated liposomal doxorubicin (PLD) for the treatment of rabbit VX2 tumor. Methods Twelve rabbits with VX2 tumor transplanted into the superficial muscle of the hind limb were randomly assigned to 2 groups, i.e. the 41 ℃ MH+PLD group (n=6) and the 43 ℃ MH+PLD group (n=6). To achieve complete tumor remission, multiple high-dose administrations (5 mg/kg, once per week for 3 weeks) were given by intravenous injection. An embedded ultrasound tumor hyperthermia instrument was used to perform local MH at tumor sites for 30 min. Results At the endpoint, the 41 ℃ MH+PLD group had lower vascularization index, tumor weight, and levels of GOT, LDH and CPK in peripheral blood as compared with the 43 ℃ MH +PLD group. Conclusion In comparison with 43 ℃ MH for 30 min, 41 ℃ MH for 30 min plus PLD can significantly improve the antitumor efficacy, and reduce the systemic toxicity

A Novel Human Tectonin Protein with Multivalent β-Propeller Folds Interacts with Ficolin and Binds Bacterial LPS

Abstract: Background Although the human genome database has been completed a decade ago, ~50% of the proteome remains hypothetical as their functions are unknown. The elucidation of the functions of these hypothetical proteins can lead to additional protein pathways and revelation of new cascades. However, many of these inferences are limited to proteins with substantial sequence similarity. Of particular interest here is the Tectonin domain-containing family of proteins. Methodology/Principal Findings We have identified hTectonin, a hypothetical protein in the human genome database, as a distant ortholog of the limulus galactose binding protein (GBP). Phylogenetic analysis revealed strong evolutionary conservation of hTectonin homologues from parasite to human. By computational analysis, we showed that both the hTectonin and GBP form β-propeller structures with multiple Tectonin domains, each containing β-sheets of 4 strands per β-sheet. hTectonin is present in the human leukocyte cDNA library and immune-related cell lines. It interacts with M-ficolin, a known human complement protein whose ancient homolog, carcinolectin (CL5), is the functional protein partner of GBP during infection. Yeast 2-hybrid assay showed that only the Tectonin domains of hTectonin recognize the fibrinogen-like domain of the M-ficolin. Surface plasmon resonance analysis showed real-time interaction between the Tectonin domains 6 & 11 and bacterial LPS, indicating that despite forming 2 β-propellers with its different Tectonin domains, the hTectonin molecule could precisely employ domains 6 & 11 to recognise bacteria. Conclusions/Significance By virtue of a recent finding of another Tectonin protein, leukolectin, in the human leukocyte, and our structure-function analysis of the hypothetical hTectonin, we propose that Tectonin domains of proteins could play a vital role in innate immune defense, and that this function has been conserved over several hundred million years, from invertebrates to vertebrates. Furthermore, the approach we have used could be employed in unraveling the characteristics and functions of other hypothetical proteins in the human proteome.

Abstract: Maintainability is an important character which is given by product design process. The maintainability design criteria and measure index used in product maintainability analysis are summarized and discussed in this paper. A product maintainability design method is studied by integrating the product feature model, maintainability design criteria with measure index. Product feature model can be built on the basis of the product feature library quickly. Product feature library for steam turbine design is created by using SolidWorks design library origination structure. A methodology which supports the design and development of product maintainability design support tool (PMDSTs) is put forward. The function of PMDSTs is designed by using UML (Unified Modeling Language) use case diagram, it is developed by using VC++ 6.0. The maintainability analysis application case of steam turbine-generator system is given at last.
Private Branding Analysis with the Intervention of Marketing Efforts on Channel Competition  [PDF]

Abstract: Over the past decades, the retail industry has been continuingly prosperous through the constant booming of Chinese economy, a reality that retailers brand their store names or other private labels to products made by unaffiliated manufacturers. However, mass of data shows that retailers are reluctant to maximize their marketing efforts without private labels; from this perspective game theory was used to construct models for three modes, by which two distinguished circumstances depended on whether to adopt private branding. The results reveal a new theoretical insight into private branding choice that retails will not be fully motivated to optimize their marketing efforts on product branded by manufacturers because of the brand specificity. In addition, results also offer an internal condition of private branding strategy and its relevant factors. I’ve built my hope that this approach of private branding is useful to retailers who need scientific suggestions for crafting an efficient branding strategy.

Abstract: By virtue of correlation analysis and regression analysis, this paper empirically studies influencing factors of venture capital exit return based on IPO through Shenzhen ChiNext Market over the 2015 to 2016 period, and combines the empirical findings with the development status of venture capital industry in China to present some suggestions and countermeasures. The research results show: The rate of return is significantly positively correlated with operation period, investment industry and issuance price, and significantly negatively correlated with investment cycle. In addition, there is no significant correlation between rate of return and remaining variables (average price-earnings ratio of ChiNext, stock cycle, amount of management capital, investment scale and location of venture capital institutions). Based on the fresh data of the ChiNext, this paper presents the investment environment of small and medium-sized enterprises in China, which can provide good references and advices for the development and investment of the venture capital institutions. However, there may be some deviation in the conclusion of this paper due to certain subjectivity in the sample selection.
