Revista Q , 2008,
In this article is presented the different concepts that makes that the propose of the EAV Group for the design of learning objects try to obtain the biggest profit of the integration of concepts from the social constructivism perspective of the learning and the new alternatives that gives the TIC, those like: intercommunication, multimediality, information clusters, graphic environments. Here is also presented a quick view of the consideration of psychological theories applied to the design of didactical resources.
El aprendizaje autónomo y el crédito académico como respuesta a nuevo orden mundial en la educación universitaria The independent learning and the academic credit like answer to new world order in the university education

Revista Q , 2009,
The purpose of this article is to present some analysis of the 2566 decree from a psycho-pedagogical view. This decree talks about Colombia’s academical credits. Such analysis will part from concepts such as: autonomic learning and metacognition. 2566 decree aims to boost some deep changes on Colombia’s higher education, to raise all transfer and interchange indexes between students from different Colombian universities and other institutions, especially from Europe; however, such change can only be possible while board of directors, teachers and students incorporate a new learning culture, for which is necessary to understand the bases of the Decree and the need to internalize such concepts, not only on the teaching practices, but also on the studying and learning ones. This article also aims to give a look to the decree from a different viewpoint to those administrative and marketing that consider it like a mechanism to privatize education and open new spaces for students in different universities.
Los mapas conceptuales hipertextuales: una nueva alternativa para la ense anza y el aprendizaje / Hypertextual conceptual maps: a new alternative for teaching and learning. A proposal for the conversion of lineal texts to hypertextual and multilineal texts.
Andrés Felipe Peláez Cárdenas
Revista Q , 2006,
/In first place, this article presents a proposal towards a catalogue of the original concepts of cyberculture. In a second place, it presents a composition gradient of the conceptual frame of cyberculture, from the most simple, the connotation to the use and knowledge of computers; to the most complex, the configuration of the concept since the contemporary thought. Finally, this article proposes the systemic as the epistemological, methodological and theoretical frame for the construction of the complexity pole of the cyberculture concept.
International Journal of Psychological Research , 2008,

Journal of Biosciences and Medicines (JBM) , 2018, DOI: 10.4236/jbm.2018.63009
Abstract: Background: The concomitant use of fractal and Euclidian measurements has led to the development of new methodologies of cell evaluation, including a diagnosis of cervical cells that set up differences between normality and various degrees of lesion, to carcinoma. Aim: To confirm the diagnostic capacity of the methodology based on fractal and Euclidian geometry for the mathematical diagnosis through a blind study of normal cells and with different types of lesion, as atypia of undetermined significance (ASCUS), low grade squamous intra-epithelial lesion (LGSIL) and high grade squamous intra-epithelial lesion (HGSIL). Methods: 100 cells of Papanicolaou tests were analyzed and divided into 4 groups according to conventional parameters: 25 normal, 25 ASCUS, 25 LGSIL and 25 HGSIL. By means of the Box-counting Fractal Space, we calculated the fractal dimension and occupying spaces of the border and surface in pixels of the cell nucleus and cytoplasm. The diagnostic parameters of the previously developed methodology were applied and compared with the conventional diagnosis, setting up sensibility, specificity, negative likelihood ratio and Kappa coefficient. Results: The values of the occupation of the border and surface of the cell nucleus and cytoplasm were consistent with the values found by the diagnostic methodology previously found. The subtraction of the nucleus and cytoplasm frontiers presented values between: 189 and 482 for normality; 159 and 432 for ASCUS; 126 to 401 for LGSIL and 39 to 122 for HGSIL. A sensitivity and specificity of 100%, and a Kappa coefficient of 1 were obtained. Conclusions: The capacity of the methodology to diagnose quantitatively the different stages in the evolution of the cervical cells observed in Papanicolaou tests was confirmed, from normality to HGSIL.
Clinical and laboratory features of hepatocellular carcinoma
María C. Londo?o,Andrés Cárdenas
Iatreia , 2007,
Abstract: The clinical presentation of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) differs between patients in developing countries (African and Chinese populations) from those in industrialized countries. In industrialized countries, HCC co-exists with symptomatic cirrhosis in 80% of cases and clinical manifestations are usually related to those of the underlying disease. On the other hand, patients from developing countries have HCC and cirrhosis in approximately 40% of cases. Underlying cirrhosis in many cases is not advanced and does not produce any symptoms or associated symptoms are masked by those of the tumor (right upper quadrant pain, mass in the upper abdomen, weight loss and weakness). In a subset of patients, there are no clinical manifestations as HCC may occur in the context of hepatitis B infection without cirrhosis. Clinical Manifestations In Western countries, nearly 35% percent of patients with HCC are asymptomatic. Some of the most common clinical manifestations include: abdominal pain (53-58% of patients), especially in epigastrium or right upper quadrant, abdominal mass (30%), weight loss, malaise, anorexia, cachexia, jaundice or fever. Physical Exam Physical findings vary with the stage of disease. The patient may exhibit slight or moderate wasting when first seen. In patients with cirrhosis, typical stigmata of chronic liver disease may be present. In advanced stages of HCC the liver may be enlarged and there is significant tenderness. An arterial bruit may be heard over the liver. Jaundice is unusual at first presentation and, when present, is mild; it commonly appears or deepens with progression of the disease. A low to moderate, intermittent or remittent fever may be present. Unusual Presentations Obstructive jaundice: is the initial presentation in 1-12% of cases. It is due to compression of the major intrahepatic bile duct by the tumor, invasion of HCC into the lumen of intrahepatic bile ducts, infiltration of the wall of bile ducts causing obliteration of the lumen, hemobilia, or free-floating tumor plugs into the biliary tree. Acute abdomen: is a life-threatening complication caused by rupture of the tumor causing intraperito bleeding. It occurs in later stages of the tumor and is a frequent cause of death. Obstruction of splanchnic veins: tumor may invade the portal vein, hepatic veins and inferior vena cava, resulting in portal hypertension (with ascites and variceal bleeding), Budd-Chiari syndrome and pitting edema of lower limbs. Management of biliary complications after orthotopic liver transplantation: The role of endoscopy
Maria C Londo?o, Domingo Balderramo, Andrés Cárdenas
World Journal of Gastroenterology , 2008,
Abstract: Biliary complications are significant causes of morbidity and mortality after orthotopic liver transplantation (OLT). The estimated incidence of biliary complications after OLT ranges between 10%-25%, however, these numbers continue to decline due to improvement in surgical techniques. The most common biliary complications are strictures (both anastomotic and non-anastomotic) and bile leaks. Most of these problems can be appropriately managed with endoscopic retrograde cholangiography (ERC). Other complications such as bile duct stones, bile casts, sphincter of Oddi dysfunction, and hemobilia, are less frequent and also can be managed with ERC. This article will review the risk factors, diagnosis, and endoscopic management of the most common biliary complications after OLT.
