Evaluation of the Biotechnological Potential of Isolated Bacteria of the Soil in the Degradation of Residues of Skin Swine  [PDF]

Abstract:

The degradation of industrial residues is of great importance for the maintenance of the environment. Therefore, the objective of this study is to verify the proteases production for bacteria of the gender isolated Bacillus of soil. The samples of skin residue were collected in industries of the area west of Santa Catarina, using residue of skin rude swine and residue of skin processed swine. The verification of the biotechnological potential consisted of the use of these residues in middle of culture and inoculation of the respective species of bacteria. The results were more expressive in the samples of skin processed swine, where it showed a degradation average around 43.55% (p/p). While, in the samples of residue of skin rude swine, an average of degradation of 20.60% (p/p) happened. In this way, the residue of skin processed swine is more sensitive than the catalytic activity of the bacterial enzymes.

Abstract: the following work, had the purpose to verify the occurrence of fungi which produce mycotoxin, specially the aspergillus, fusarium and penicillium genus in the granola commercialized in porto alegre, once that this food is having an increasing consumption.these fibered fungi are certified frequently in cereals, which are found in the granola (a mix of grains, nuts and dried fruits, sometimes coated with oil and honey, eaten for breakfast or as a snack). granola samples were acquired in the public market of porto alegre since august 2004 until april 2005, during the four seasons of the year. the collection was based on four samples of different origins, two of which are commercialized packed and sealed up, and the other two commercialized in bulk. the analyses had followed the described procedures for compendium of methods for examination of foods. the fungi identification was based on the macroscopic and microscopic morphology, with the assistance of identification keys. the results certified the presence of aspergillus, fusarium and penicillium fungi, with the predominance of the aspergillus genus in three seasons. in summer it had a bigger mycelium development and in autumn the lowest fungi growth. the results suggest a bigger control and inspection, seeking for eliminate any occurrence of microorganism producer of toxins in the granola.
PROPOSTA DE REESTRUTURA O E GERENCIAMENTO LOGíSTICO DAS ATIVIDADES QUE COMP EM A CADEIA DE VALOR DE UMA EMPRESA DO SEGMENTO DE TRANSPORTADOR - REVENDEDOR - RETALHISTA (TRR)

Abstract: A logística vem sendo utilizada como instrumento que possibilita o desenvolvimento de diferenciais competitivos, pois visa identificar as oportunidades de melhoria dos processos, bem como, a redu o dos custos das atividades que comp em a cadeia de valor e a maximiza o dos resultados. Diante disso, o objetivo desse estudo consiste em apresentar uma proposta de otimiza o e gerenciamento logístico dos processos que comp em a cadeia de valor de uma empresa voltada à atividade de transportador, revendedor, retalhista (TRR). Para tanto, utilizou-se pesquisa descritiva, de natureza qualitativa, desenvolvida por meio de um estudo bibliográfico e de caso, cuja coleta de dados foi realizada, por meio de documenta o, entrevistas pessoais e observa o direta em campo. Os resultados apontaram que: (i) as atividades que comp em a cadeia de valor de uma TRR referem-se à aquisi o, transporte, armazenamento, venda e distribui o de combustível, e presta o de servi os inerentes a instala o e manuten o de equipamentos de abastecimentos; (ii) a organiza o em estudo apresenta algumas deficiências no desenvolvimento de seus processos, tais como, falta de defini o de responsabilidades, ausência de políticas de vendas, n o existem controles formais de pedidos e de estoques, n o há planejamento de compras e distribui o dos produtos, entre outros; (iii) na proposta apresentada recomenda-se a reestrutura o das atividades que comp em a cadeia de valor desta organiza o, bem como seu gerenciamento. Conclui-se que para implementar as adapta es indicadas n o é necessário contratar pessoas, basta apenas remanejar os funcionários, definir cargo e fun es, capacitá-los, e desenvolver um trabalho de conscientiza o com os proprietários e colaboradores.

Abstract: the good size and adequate color of fresh citrus are important factors of quality that increase their consumption and improve the prices received by farmers. this work aimed to study the effect of different intensities of thinning and pruning of fruit on production and fruit quality of mandarin 'montenegrina'. the experiment was conducted in a commercial orchard in the city of dois vizinhos, in southwestern paraná, brazil. the factorial experiment consisted of the following treatments. 1) without thinning and without pruning (control), 2) without thinning, with pruning; 3) 33 % thinning, without pruning; 4) 33 % thinning, with pruning; 5) 66,% thinning, without pruning; 6) 66 % thinning, with pruning. the experimental design was completely randomized block with four replications and each experimental unit consists of one plant. under conditions in which the experiment was conducted, it appears that the thinning intensities of 33 % and 66 % promote an increase in the fresh weight, improve the skin color, increase the diameter and improve the commercial classification of fruis of 'montenegrina' mandarin. light pruning does not contribute to improving the quality of the fruits.

Abstract: This case study was conducted at a single institution Health Pelotas / RS and aimed to describe some of the subsystems of health information used in this institution, in addition to emphasizing the importance of proper record of information, so that they can be used by managers in the construction Indicators of Health was conducted qualitative research with the chief Nurse of the Unit in April 2011, and the data were investigated by content analysis. We stress the importance of this work proper record of information for the construction of reliable health indicators. The information and teamwork and interaction dimensions of organizational, technological and human, provide an excellent service more dignified and humane that will benefit everyone involved. We conclude that there must be an organizational culture of valuing information, and to know and assess the extent and performance of each information system is extremely important for your use and continuous improvement, becoming an instrument to detect priority focus of attention.

Abstract: Infec o por enteroparasitas foi avaliada em 200 crian as em idade escolar, residentes em Lages. A prevalência geral entre helmintos e protozoários foi de 70,5% com 61,4% no sexo masculino e 74,5% no feminino. Os parasitos mais prevalentes foram Ascaris lumbricoides (35%), Giardia lamblia (14%) e Trichuris trichiura (13%).
Fluoride content of UHT milks commercially available in Bauru, Brazil

Abstract: objectives: the aims of the present study were to evaluate the fluoride (f) concentrations in whole, defatted and chocolate milks commercially available in brazil and to estimate the daily f intake from these sources. material and methods: f concentrations were determined for 23 brands of milks, after hmds-facilitated diffusion, using a f ion-specific electrode. possible f ingestion per kg body weight was estimated, based on suggested volumes of formula consumption, for infants aging 1 to 12 months. results: f concentrations ranged from 0.02 to 1.6 μg/ml f for all brands analyzed. whole and defatted milks had the lowest f concentrations, ranging from 0.02 to 0.07 μg/ml. with respect to chocolate milks, three brands had f concentrations above 0.5 μg/ml. some brands of chocolate milks exceeded the dose regarded as the threshold level for the development of dental fluorosis, without taking into account other sources of fluoride intake. conclusion: the high fluoride concentrations found in some brands of chocolate milks in the present study indicate that many products may be important contributors to the total fluoride intake, reinforcing the need of assaying fluoride content of foods and beverages consumed by small children.

Abstract: this paper describes a needs assessment for the implementation of a parenthood transition program. two studies were realized using interviews. thirteen couples, with babies of 18 to 36 months, participated in the first study. this study revealed the following stressors: taking care of the baby, changes in family roles and intrusiveness of the social support group. in the second study eight couples with a newborn baby participated. in this study diverse topics were addressed: personal attachment experiences, parental educational practices, sensorial capacities of the baby, stressors and coping methods used. the results indicated coercive educational practices and insecure attachment as risk factors in the relation between parents and baby. the implications for the planning of preventive programs are discussed.

Abstract: Este estudo teve por objetivo avaliar um programa longitudinal de apoio à transi o para a parentalidade por meio da avalia o de necessidades e de processo. Um casal participou de uma interven o longitudinal, com nove visitas domiciliares, focadas no desenvolvimento de habilidades parentais e empoderamento da dupla. As intera es pais-bebê e rea es do casal à interven o foram gravadas em vídeo e posteriormente registradas no Protocolo de Avalia o de Processo. A análise dos dados evidencia que o casal sentiu-se satisfeito com o programa e fez uso das informa es e estratégias recebidas, com impacto positivo nas dimens es da conjugalidade, com melhor comunica o e solu o de problemas interpessoais e da parentalidade, com a constru o de conhecimentos sobre o desenvolvimento do bebê, mudan as em cren as sobre práticas educativas parentais violentas, responsividade na rela o com o bebê e menor estresse parental. S o recomendadas replica es deste estudo em amostras maiores e avalia o de follow-up. La finalidad de este artículo fue evaluar un programa longitudinal de apoyo a la transición hacia la parentalidad mediante la evaluación de necesidades y proceso. Una pareja participó en una intervención longitudinal que constituye una serie de nueve visitas domiciliares, focalizadas en el desarrollo de habilidades parentales y empoderamiento de la pareja. Las interacciones padres-bebé y las reacciones de la pareja a la intervención fueron grabadas en video y posteriormente registradas en el protocolo de evaluación de proceso. El análisis de los datos demostró satisfacción de la pareja con el programa y la utilización de las informaciones y estrategias recibidas, con impacto positivo en las dimensiones de la conyugalidad, con mejor comunicación y solución de problemas interpersonales; y de la parentalidad, con la construcción de conocimientos sobre el desarrollo del bebé, cambios en creencias sobre las prácticas educativas parentales violentas, sensibilidad en la relación con el bebé y menor estrese parental. Se recomienda que el estudio sea reaplicado en muestras con más participantes y con evaluaciones de seguimiento. This paper describes a needs assessment and a process evaluation of a longitudinal support program to first-time parents. A couple participated in a longitudinal intervention, with nine home visits, focused on the development of parental skills and couple empowerment. Abstract: This study deals with the reality of the housing production within the State of Rio Grande do Sul as the basis and the context for the development of academic papers. Afterwards, it presents the methodological directives used in the pedagogical and investigational processes as well as the preliminary results of this approach in the architecture, urbanism and engineering courses in Passo Fundo. The first academic developed projects seek to approximate the student to the reality and the local context by means of the diagnosis of the slums and suburbs to be resettled, knowledge of the further users of the public and private programs, comparatives between the existing urban infra-structure and the essential in the anticipated areas for the implantation of housing centers, among other preparatory activities for the development of architectonic and urban projects. Next, the teaching subjects which ought to be incorporated in the course are the use and the development of alternative constructive technologies as well as the viability of the norms and the legislation suitable to this approach. It can be concluded that this is a manner to make the student and the courses leave their studios and interact with their reality and difficulties of the theme, and, at the same time, become capable to develop the professional practice in the existing working field, having its economical potential aggregated to the social outcomes.
