Fear fear: an investigation about phobia in Freud, Lacan and other contemporary authors (Diaz Romero and Charles Melman) based on a clinical case. A question emerges based on a clinical case: should phobia be considered a clinical entity or a clinical figure to make itself present in various contexts? The present article investigates this matter in the works of Freud, Lacan and two current authors that reignite the debate around the theme. Psychoanalysis, as a theoretical body to emerge from Freud's clinical listening, only maintains its reason of being in which it still makes possible for us to handle the real in clinical experience through the symbolic. It is in this sense that, trailing a theoretical path, we return to the clinical experience at the end of the article.
Model of the Pulsing Atom  [PDF]
Heinrich Ehrlich
Advances in Materials Physics and Chemistry (AMPC) , 2017, DOI: 10.4236/ampc.2017.75015
Abstract: In this work, we reanalyzed the movement of an electron in the electrostatic field of nucleus. The trajectory of the electron’s motion is an ellipse with a minor semiaxis, tending towards zero. From a mathematical point of view the movement of an electron in such an orbit will be equivalent to the oscillation of an electron. The action produced by electrons in movement between stationary points is discrete and proportional to a Planck constant. This condition sets the allowable values of the electron energy and the radius of their orbit. Electrons on the same shell perform symmetric synchronous oscillations. Their frequency is of the order of 1016 Hz. Most of the time the electrons are located on the periphery of the atom, periodically they simultaneously rush to the nucleus, the atom rapidly compresses and immediately decompresses, i.e. pulsates. The model gives Bohr formula for the energy of single-electron atom and suitable values of ionization potentials of the atoms of the second period of the Periodic Table.
A Universal Hurricane Frequency Function
Robert Ehrlich
Advances in Meteorology , 2010, DOI: 10.1155/2010/763502
Abstract: Evidence is provided that the global distribution of tropical hurricanes is principally determined by a universal function H of a single variable z that in turn is expressible in terms of the local sea surface temperature and latitude. The data-driven model presented here carries stark implications for the large increased numbers of hurricanes which it predicts for a warmer world. Moreover, the rise in recent decades in the numbers of hurricanes in the Atlantic, but not the Pacific basin, is shown to have a simple explanation in terms of the specific form of H(z), which yields larger percentage increases when a fixed increase in sea surface temperature occurs at higher latitudes and lower temperatures.
Persistent failure of the COIDA system to compensate occupational disease in South Africa
Rodney Ehrlich
South African Medical Journal , 2012,
Abstract: Cases of occupational disease, solvent encephalopathy and occupational asthma are used to exemplify failings of the workers’ compensation system in South Africa, that include delays in processing claims, non-response to requests for information, and inadequate assessment of disability. These and other systemic deficiencies in administration of the Compensation for Occupational Injuries and Diseases Act of 1993 (COIDA) reduce access by workers with occupational disease to private medical care, and shift costs to workers and to public sector medical care. Another unintended effect is to promote under-reporting of occupational disease by employers and medical practitioners. Reforms have been tried or proposed over the years, including decentralisation of medical assessment to specialised units, which showed promise but were closed. Improved annual performance reporting by the Compensation Commissioner on the processing of occupational disease claims would promote greater public accountability. Given the perennial failings of the system, a debate on outsourcing or partial privatisation of COIDA’s functions is due. S Afr Med J 2012;102:95-97.
Could a reported 2007 analysis of Super-Kamiokande data have missed a detectable supernova signal from Andromeda?
Ehrlich, Robert
High Energy Physics - Phenomenology , 2013,
Abstract: According to a 2007 paper there was no evidence for a neutrino burst of two or more events in Super-Kamiokande (SK) during the entire period of data-taking from 1996 to 2005 from Andromeda or anywhere else. There is, however a scenario under which a detectable signal could have been missed given the search method employed by the analysis, and it would have been found using an alternate method. The alternate method depends on the hypothesis that two of the neutrino mass eigenstates have masses 4.0 eV and 21.4 eV which was inferred from an analysis of the SN 1987A data. Although one might argue that the hypothesis of such large neutrino masses is remote, there is a way they could be compatible with observed constraints on neutrino masses involving a third tachyonic ($m^2<0$) eigenstate, plus three sterile neutrinos. Given the importance of a positive supernova search result, and the ease of conducting it using existing SK data, there would seem to be little reason not to do it.

Voces y redes del periodismo peronista, 1955-1958
Laura Ehrlich
Prohistoria , 2012,
The article aims to illuminate a badly known field of activism, during the so called resistencia peronista: the journalistic one. It is necessary to achieve a better understanding of some material aspects related to the journalistic enterprise that layed under Peronist weekly newpapers. Biographical approach to its edtors in chief will show these figures had an old story inside Peronist journalism. I'll deline basical tracks of its social and political trajectories. I will submit the different social networks involved in printing, distribution and financing Peronist press. Concluding, it will be analyzed the way these weekly newpapers called its readers.
Dealing with Culturally Sensitive Areas in Industrial Project Design
Alan Ehrlich
International Indigenous Policy Journal , 2012,
Abstract: Potential cultural impacts from proposed industrial developments can affect culturally sensitive areas that are important to Aboriginal peoples. These cultural impacts are important for legal, political, and moral reasons and can have a major influence on project approval or rejection during environmental impact assessment. It is in the interest of developers to identify and consider potential impacts on culturally sensitive areas early in the project proposal process in order to design projects that minimize or avoid these impacts. A key strategy is to engage communities effectively in the process. Different types of mitigation measures, including off-site cultural mitigation, may be appropriate for different types of culturally sensitive areas, but avoidance may be the only option for certain non-negotiable areas.
Zerebrale Protektion bei Aorteneingriffen
Ehrlich M
