Authorized Service Vendors in Mobile Terminals Voice  [PDF]
Andi Mwegerano, Jyrki Sippola
iBusiness (IB) , 2014, DOI: 10.4236/ib.2014.61003

This study examines whether authorized service vendors (ASV) for mobile terminals (MT) are satisfied with the original equipment manufacturer (OEM) in terms of service provided to them and also how the ASV is performing at their premises. A seamless relationship between the OEM and the ASV is essential for both sides to prosper in this business. When the ASV supplies good services to end-users, this contributes to an increase in the customer satisfaction rating, loyalty and retention. The study employs an exploratory research design; in-depth survey interviews were carried out in six different ASV in Europe. The study was conducted at Nokia Corporation in Finland. The survey analysis of the association between category variables is descriptively analyzed. The main findings in this work were that the ASV is satisfied with the MT product manufacturer, and that the internal working practice of the ASV organization was perceived as more positive than negative. From the OEM side, the issue resolution time (iRT) and training before product launch are items that should be focused on in the first place, as these affect customer satisfaction. The ASV management should seek a way to share the end-user customer feedback to the ASV teams, and internal information communication should also be improved.

Abstract: In the after market phase, responding to issues raised by customers within a reasonable time is crucial. Another factor which is important to customers is the quality of the issue corrective actions (QoiCA). This paper analyses the QoiCA from the user’s perspective, regarding the quality of corrective actions provided through an in-built tool (GENIUS) used within corporations. A survey questionnaire was sent to different participants in the network chain which handles or resolves the issues. The participants were from 17 European countries and 7 non-European countries. Responses were analysed, using statistical methods and the Self Organising Map (SOM) model and results were used to pinpoint or suggest the areas that are seen as opportunities for improving the quality of the corrective actions provided. Higher quality of corrective actions, along with other initiatives, will help to improve customer’s satisfaction. Three of the clear issues observed in this paper that contribute to long issue resolution time (iRT) are: 1) Long time to receive samples; 2) High frequency for asking more information from lower levels; and 3) Business impact price tag, to allow the issues to be prioritized, were missing from the escalated issues. QoiCA is jeopardized when: 1) A poor description of the issue is provided by the creator of the issue; 2) A poor response to the default requested additional questions (information) regarding the reported issue on top of the issue description. The authorized service vendors (ASV) users need more training with the in-built tool so that they know, for example, where to get help when they need it. When customer issues are resolved satisfactorily, there is a much higher chance that the customers involved will remain satisfied and loyal.
Construction Workers Perceptions Toward Safety Culture

Abstract: Efforts to reduce construction accidents can be initiated by building good safety culture. Researches concerning safety culture, however, are still limited. This research aims to empirically gauge workera s perception toward safety culture in construction projects. Data were obtained through questionnaire survey to three large construction projects in Surabaya. Two hundreds and seven sets of questionnaires were gathered and used for subsequent analyses. Results show that in general workersa perception toward safety culture are quite good. Further analysis indicates that workers in the three projects have different safety culture perceptions, especially on factors of top management commitment, safety rules and procedures, communication, and workera s competency.

Abstract: Many cost overruns in the world of construction are attributable to either unforeseen events or foreseen events for which uncertainty was not appropriately accommodated. It is argued that a significant improvement to project management performance may result from greater attention to the process of analyzing project risks. The objective of this paper is to propose a risk analysis methodology for appropriate allocation of contingency in project cost estimation. In the first step, project risks will be identified. Influence diagramming technique is employed to identify and to show how the risks affect the project cost elements and also the relationships among the risks themselves. The second step is to assess the project costs with regards to the risks under consideration. Using a linguistic approach, the degree of uncertainty of identified project risks is assessed and quantified. The problem of dependency between risks is taken into consideration during this analysis. For the final step, as the main purpose of this paper, a method for allocating appropriate contingency is presented. Two types of contingencies, i.e. project contingency and management reserve are proposed to accommodate the risks. An illustrative example is presented at the end to show the application of the methodology.

Abstract: The role of worker motivation is very important in improving construction productivity. In order to increase the motivation, it is essential for management to understand needs of the workers as well as factors motivating and demotivating. This paper aims to determine the needs level, motivators, and demotivators of construction workers in Surabaya based on Maslow and Herzberga s theories. For the methodology, the study conducted a questionnaire survey, and 263 workers participated in the survey. It is found out that the workers are still at the physiological needs level. Good salary and safety programs are two most important motivators for workers, whereas two most important demotivators are bad treatment by supervisor and insufficient material availability. The paper discusses the findings and proposes solutions to increase workers motivation.

Abstract: The specific goals of this study were:Firstly, in the long run perspective, the goal is to analyze impact of policythat inflate agriculture price to growth, employment, and investment inagriculture sector. Secondly, in the short run perspective, the goals are: (1)to analyze which economic blocks that have most producing instability toagriculture sector, (2) to analyze behaviour af inflation in agriculture sectorand causality relationship both among output price and input prices and amonginput prices. Quantitative methods used ini this studywere Vector Error Correction Model, Johansen Cointegration Test, and GrangerCausality Test. Data used in this study come from several sources such as BankIndonesia, BPS Statistic, International Financial Statistic and CEIC dataCompany Limited, series data from first monthly of 1993 (1993:01) up to thelast monthly of 2002 (2002:12). In the agriculture sector, production(output) and capital are responsive to change in the output price. This meanthat inflating the output price effectively help generate output and newinvestment in this sector. Nevertheless because shock in price can be source ofinstability to agriculture sector, so government should be carefully applypolicies that can inflating the price in agriculture. To solve unemploymentproblem in agriculture sector, government should apply cost strategy such assubsidy policy of input price.
Knowlegde Based A Formation Control Model of the Multi-robot Systems
Andi Adriansyah
Abstract: Study of multi-robot system has been popular in recent years. This system is able to reduce processing time of some processes, the cost and complexity of the system. However, multi-robot system also has some problems. One of the problems faced by these systems is how to control robots in a certain formation when carrying out its functions. Several methods have been offered to resolve the existing problems. This study tries to offer a method to solve the problem, by modeling the multi-robot systems and implement a control system in order to maintain a specific formation. The study attempted to use a controller based on knowledge base system. Model is developed using MATLAB software and simulated to determine the performance. Several experiments are conducted to determine the movement of the robot and its ability to maintain a specific formation. From the experiments it can be said that the modeling of multiple-robot system has been reliable. In addition, formation control actions have also been running well, although there should be further development.

Second, the political nexus of military reform is also accompanied by systematic attempts to strengthening Indonesia's military capability. Third, military reform evolves in the context of the military's collective perceptions and institutional interest. Fourth, military reform in Indonesia has been supported by a working network created between Civil Society Organizations, political leaders, and civilian military experts.
This article focuses on the Securitate files as a political stake, but also as first rank sources for academic research, not from the current perspective of recent history, but from that of cultural history. In post-communist Romania, silence is the secret’s poor relative and confidentiality its respectable form. Ironically or not, we could state that in our country the secrets of communist repression are literally protected by law. The secret is an unbidden, illegitimate competence. In its ethics it does not matter what is good and what is bad, what is true and what is false. The main interest is what is said and what isn’t. The secret being a convention, a pact, the gesture of not saying seems to be more important than the thing unsaid. The inexpressible, the unsaying create relationships, social complicity, but also hierarchies, demarcations between those who hold a secret and those who do not know it or are afraid for this not to be divulged.
