Analisando representa??es sociais através de elementos gramaticais: compondo representa??es sobre música

Psicologia & Sociedade , 2010, DOI: 10.1590/S0102-71822010000200018
Abstract: the aim of this study was to present a method of analysis for social representations (sr) based on grammatical elements. this method was described through a research about sr of music among musicians (n=57) and listeners (n=234) from the city rio de janeiro. questions were asked about the definition of music and the description of likes and dislikes regarding music production and consumption. drawing on grammatical/thematic content analysis many categories were described and clustered in three groups according to the prevalence of grammatical elements: descriptive/objective - based on nouns; effects/uses - prevalence of verbs and expressions (e.g. "it is to", "it makes me"); and rhetorical - based on adverbs and adjectives. these categories allowed us to observe more specifically the processes of objectivation (descriptive), and anchoring (effects/uses), as well as attitudinal elements (rhetorical). further, the process of analysis, and its implications and limits were discussed.

Abstract: the objective of this work was to study the social representations of homosexuality among college students, according to sexual orientation and sex. one free association question about the word homosexuality and another about is possible causes were answered. the data was analyzed according to the principles of content analysis. there were significant differences among the groups, allowing us to find out different ways of understanding/dealing with homosexuality and facing prejudice/discrimination. the homosexual men publicly justified/legitimated (rights, freedom) homosexuality with the argument/representation that it is uncontrollable/natural, while the homosexual women preferred to build and improve interaction agreements on the interpersonal level (family, love affair) to obtain social recognition. yet the heterosexual men and women, with many references to normality and others contents that reinforce the social conventions, pointed out less possibility of recognition towards homosexuality.

Revista Interamericana de Psicología , 2010,
Abstract: We examined the relationships between self-representations and moral decision. We worked with the formulations about self-representations according to psychosocial approach. Secondary students in Rio de Janeiro took part in this research. They answered about two moral dilemmas of accusation of cheating on a test school and teasing a colleague. In addition, they were asked the question: who are you? Could you introduce yourself? They were asked to make a decision whether to keep promise (KP) to a friend (who cheated or lied) or to tell the truth (TT) to teacher/colleagues. We found different self-representation patterns, mainly to the moral decision with colleagues. TT was associated to group identity, moral value, collective category, meanwhile KP to positive interpersonal relation and collective category. Furthermore, we found association between TT and Evangelical identication and non-White ethnic identification. The results were discussed as self-representations which strengthen/weaken autonomy, differentiation and delimitation of interindividual and intergroup boundaries.

A Measurable Stability Theorem for Holomorphic Foliations Transverse to Fibrations

International Journal of Differential Equations , 2012, DOI: 10.1155/2012/585298
Abstract: We prove that a transversely holomorphic foliation, which is transverse to the fibers of a fibration, is a Seifert fibration if the set of compact leaves is not a zero measure subset. Similarly, we prove that a finitely generated subgroup of holomorphic diffeomorphisms of a connected complex manifold is finite provided that the set of periodic orbits is not a zero measure subset. 1. Introduction Foliations transverse to fibrations are among the very first and simplest constructible examples of foliations, accompanied by a well-known transverse structure. These foliations are suspensions of groups of diffeomorphisms and their behavior is closely related to the action of the group in the fiber. For these reasons, many results holding for foliations in a more general context are first established for suspensions, that is, foliations transverse to a fibration. In this paper, we pursue this idea, but not restricted to it. We investigate versions of the classical stability theorems of Reeb [1, 2], regarding the behavior of the foliation in a neighborhood of a compact leaf, replacing the finiteness of the holonomy group of the leaf by the existence of a sufficient number of compact leaves. This is done for transversely holomorphic (or transversely analytic) foliations. Let be a (locally trivial) fibration with total space , fiber , base , and projection . A foliation on is transverse to if: (1) for each , the leaf of with is transverse to the fiber , ; (2) ; (3) for each leaf of , the restriction is a covering map. A theorem of Ehresmann ([1] Chpter V) [2]) assures that if the fiber is compact, then conditions (1) and (2) together already imply (3). Such foliations are conjugate to suspensions and are characterized by their global holonomy ([1], Theorem 3, page 103 and [2], Theorem 6.1, page 59). The codimension one case is studied in [3]. In [4], we study the case where the ambient manifold is a hyperbolic complex manifold. In [5], the authors prove a natural version of the stability theorem of Reeb for (transversely holomorphic) foliations transverse to fibrations. A foliation on is called a Seifert fibration if all leaves are compact with finite holonomy groups. The following stability theorem is proved in [5]. Theorem 1.1. Let be a holomorphic foliation transverse to a fibration with fiber . If has a compact leaf with finite holonomy group then is a Seifert fibration. It is also observed in [5] that the existence of a trivial holonomy compact leaf is assured if is of codimension has a compact leaf, and the base satisfies . Since a foliation transverse to a
Transversely affine holomorphic foliations of arbitrary codimension - I

Abstract: We study holomorphic foliations with an affine homogeneous transverse structure. We give a friendly characterization of the case of transversely affine foliations in terms of matrix valued pairs of differential forms. This leads naturally to the study of the case of foliations with singularities. A first extension theorem is then proved in the generic singularities framework.
