To what Extent are Jokes Reactional? (Based on a Joke Cycle about Yury Luzhkov’s Dismissal)
Anastasiya Astapova
Folklore : Electronic Journal of Folklore , 2013, DOI: 10.7592/fejf2013.53.astapova
Abstract: The article concentrates on jokes that appeared immediately after the dismissal of Yury Luzhkov, Mayor of Moscow, in 2010. As soon as he was fired after eighteen years in the same position of mayor, the Internet was flooded with jokes about his dismissal as well as numerous discussions on internet forums and blogs. I collected the jokes as well as opinions from the discussions, categorised them by their themes, and tried to understand how these two phenomena (jokes and discussions on the Internet) correlate with each other, in order to understand whether the axiom that folklore is a mirror of society is true.

A Study of Multiple Refractive Scattering of Monoenergetic X-Rays from Ensembles of Monodisperse Spheres
Anastasiya Khromova
Physics , 2010,
Abstract: A Monte Carlo program based on a three dimensional vector approach was developed to model multiple refractive scattering of X-ray photons in objects with a fine structure. A particular interest was paid to the investigation of lung tissue. Alveoli are low contrast and low absorbing structures. Hence, they are not visible in the conventional radiography which is based on the changes in the absorption arising from density differences and from variation in the thickness and composition of the object. Another possibility to image fine structure objects is to use the phase imaging techniques. As known, the phase change constant delta at low energies (15-30 keV) is 1000 times larger than the absorption constant beta. The Diffraction Enhance Imaging (DEI) technique is one of the recent phase sensitive techniques based on the use of an analyzer crystal placed between the sample and the detector.

Abstract: The monthly investigations of military guards ((19.1 ? 0.9) years, n = 20) in northern European region (62?N lat.) that daily spent outdoors from 6 to 10 h were carried out during the year (from November to October). In examined subjects, the serum FT4 levels were high enough during all period of research espe-cially from April till October when the hormone levels exceeded norm. The concentration of serum FT3 was rather stable during the year and corresponded to the normal level. At the same time, the levels of total form of thyroid hormones (TT4 and TT3) displaced to lower limit of norm. Thus, staying outdoors of military guards in the North for all the year round is accompa-nied by activization of thyroid hormones use.

Regulatory framework of family medicine implementation in Ukraine
Salo, Anastasiya,Yakovlev, Maksym
Tobacco Control and Public Health in Eastern Europe , 2012,
Abstract: BACKGROUND: Primary health care (PHC) is the most important element of health system. The development of PHC based on family medicine will allow to significantly improve the demographic situation, to achieve equitable distribution and efficient use of budget funds. However, implementation of general clinical practice/family medicine (GPFM) is constrained by lacking resources and imperfect system of training health professionals, incompleteness of legal and financial frameworks, information support, and mechanisms of interaction between general practice and other health services. The aim of this study was to analyze the legal aspects of the implementation of the family medical practice in Ukraine.METHODS: Thirty four regulatory documents directly related to PHC in Ukraine on the basis of family medicine for the period from 1995 to 2007 were found and analyzed. Among these four decrees of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and 30 orders of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine were found.RESULTS: Regulatory framework for introduction of family medicine is being enhanced actively. However, it still lacks regulations of relationship between doctors of GPFM and other specialists defining their responsibilities; issues of differential allocation of funds across the levels of health care with the focus on the PHC financing; providing adequate financing, remuneration for labour and motivation to professionals working in "general practice/family medicine"; providing the necessary powers for private family doctors; facilitating the participation of NGOs in the processes of the sector administration; ensuring proper assessment and quality control of PHC based on family medicine.CONCLUSION: Further development and improvement of the legal framework is needed to speed up the PHC reform based on family medicine and continued implementation of general practice/family medicine.
