Abstract: objective: to describe the working process for the implementation of the health management course in the virtual learning environment. methods: general theoretical methods and qualitative techniques. results: printed materials were then adapted to hypertextual materials, respecting the division of subjects as independent parts but interrelated. there were created educational resources that facilitate learning, as well as several spaces where all the supplementary materials may be placed for the collaborative work. the register of participants in the virtual course helped to follow up the participation of the students. conclusions: the organization of this course for virtual learning environment was characterized by individual and group activities, the leading role of the student, the selection and use of materials, and the control and evaluation of learning.

Abstract: Introducción: la deficiente adherencia a los tratamientos antirretrovirales, se ha convertido en un problema de salud de gran importancia, por lo que es necesario promover una correcta relación terapéutica, entre el profesional de la salud, y la persona con VIH/sida. Objetivos: identificar el nivel de conocimientos relacionados con la adherencia al tratamiento antirretroviral, las principales prácticas profesionales que se realizan, y la percepción de capacitación que tienen los médicos y enfermeras del municipio Camagüey, en el periodo de septiembre de 2006 a junio de 2007. Métodos: se realizó un estudio descriptivo de corte transversal, la población estuvo constituida por 150 enfermeras y 90 médicos. La muestra quedó conformada por 100 enfermeras y 65 médicos de la atención primaria de salud, que atendían en los consultorios, a las personas con VIH/sida. Resultados: los médicos y las enfermeras muestran escasos conocimientos en algunos elementos esenciales, relacionados con la adherencia a los tratamientos de larga duración, y la repercusión que tienen en la calidad de vida de las personas con VIH/sida. Existen dificultades en algunas prácticas profesionales, llevadas a cabo con los pacientes. Hubo insuficiente percepción de capacitación relacionada con el tema, para promover la adherencia en los pacientes. Conclusiones: los conocimientos que poseen los médicos y enfermeras de la familia, son insuficientes para abordar con calidad, la atención a las personas con VIH/sida, que se acogen al sistema de atención ambulatorio. Introduction: poor adherence to antiretroviral treatment has become an important health issue, so it is necessary to promote proper therapeutic relationship between health professional and the persons with HIV/AIDS. Objectives: to identify the level of knowledge related to the antiretroviral therapy adherence, the major professional practices performed and the training perception of doctors and nurses from Camagüey municipality during september 2006 to june 2007. Methods: a cross sectional study was conducted, out of 150 nurses and 90 doctors, a sample was made up by 100 nurses and 65 doctors from primary care, assisting HIV/AIDS patients. Results: physicians and nurses showed little knowledge of essential elements relating to adherence to long-term treatment and the impact it has on the quality of life of HIV/AIDS people. Abstract: health postgraduate training has in health promotion and education areas one of its major challenges due to the knowledge synthesis of very different disciplines needed for its development, and the potential impact that its graduates could achieve in society. objective: to characterize scientific contribution of mastery program to the health promotion and education in the two concluded editions. methods: authors made a descriptive, cross-sectional study. universe included 48 mastery completion papers (mcp) performed by the total of students of the two concluded editions of health education and promotion (2001-2004; 2005-2008). we used a documentary review as a information retrieve technique. results: content analysis showed a predominance of technological innovation researches at local level related to some of the main health problems in cuba. conclusions: scientific production shows a high coherence with contemporaneous methodological approaches in scientific-technological research and the matters discussed are in keeping with the current theoretical references on health promotion.

Abstract: La formación postgraduada en salud encuentra en el área de promoción y educación para la salud uno de sus principales retos, dada la necesidad que para su desarrollo tiene, la síntesis de conocimientos de muy diversas disciplinas y el potencial impacto que sus egresados podrían lograr en la sociedad. OBJETIVO: caracterizar la contribución científica del Programa de la Maestría en promoción y educación para la salud en las dos ediciones concluidas. MéTODOS: estudio descriptivo, de corte transversal. El universo estuvo constituido por los 48 trabajos de terminación de maestría (TTM) ejecutados por la totalidad de los estudiantes de las dos ediciones concluidas de la Maestría en Promoción y Educación para la Salud (2001-2004; 2005-2008). Se utilizó la revisión documental como técnica de recogida de información. RESULTADOS: el análisis de contenido reveló un predominio de investigaciones de innovación tecnológica en el nivel local, relacionadas con algunos de los principales problemas de salud en Cuba. CONCLUSIONES: la producción científica refleja una elevada consistencia con los enfoques metodológicos contemporáneos en la investigación científico-tecnológica y las temáticas abordadas se encuentran en consonancia con los referentes teóricos actuales sobre la promoción de la salud. Abstract: qualification in health promotion fulfills the gap in pregraduate training of professionals in charge of to develop this strategy at different levels, which is gave at national level from november, 2007, coordinated by health promotion chair of public health national school. objective: to assess the results from the first edition of this qualification in health promotion (from november, 2007 to june, 2009). methods: this is a cross-sectional and evaluative research applied in the following provinces: pinar del río, ciudad de la habana, matanzas, cienfuegos, sancti spíritus and ciego de avila with the participation of 116 graduates and 69 professors. results: the program design was on the base of the learning needs detection with 25 polled experts, there were 18 responses (72.2 %), 17 agree with all contents proposed (94.4 %), 5 of them proposed new contents and by means of regional methodological workshops. staff included professionals, most physicians and pedagogs, the 50% or more with a level of assistant professors (62.3 %), master and with a 11-20 years teaching experience (34.7 %). students most were women working mainly at local, municipal and provincial level, most pedagogs (31.1 %) and physicians (24.%), main motivations were to learn and to excel. in teaching process some major weakness were detected allowing the program modification. the staying was of 89.2%. results of pre-test and post-test showed the learning level achieved. all students passed the courses and the final work and most with qualifications between excellent and well. conclusions: the methodological process developed for planning and carrying out of teaching program allowed its appropriate development in each provinces. provincial staff has a high scientific and teaching level. student selection was according to proposed admission requirements. training process was efficient and efficacious showed by results from learning achieved by graduates.

Abstract: an analysis is made about the injuries of the upper cervical rachis. the 30 patients with this type of injury that received attention at the neurosurgery service of "general calixto garcía" teaching hospital from september, 1996, to september, 1999, were included in the study. sociodemographic, clinical and imgaing features of the patients are described. the predominant symptom was occipitocervical pain and in most of the patients the neurological functioning was intact. the results were discussed and recommendations were made to contribute to a more efficient use of the imaging resources in the diagnosis and treatment of these affections

Abstract: Se efectúa un análisis acerca de las lesiones del raquis cervical superior. Se estudiaron 30 pacientes atendidos en el Servicio de Neurocirugía del Hospital Universitario "General Calixto García", que constituyen el universo de casos que acudió con este tipo de lesión, en el período comprendido entre septiembre de 1996 y septiembre de 1999. Se describen características sociodemográficas, clínicas e imagenológicas de los pacientes. El síntoma dominante por excelencia fue el dolor occipito-cervical, y en la mayoría de los enfermos quedó intacto el funcionamiento neurológico. Se discuten los resultados y se ofrecen recomendaciones con vistas a contribuir a una utilización más eficiente de los recursos imagenológicos en el diagnóstico y tratamiento de estas afecciones An analysis is made about the injuries of the upper cervical rachis. Abstract: Resulta indispensable, a la hora de efectuar el análisis de la evolución de los derechos humanos en el bicentenario constitucional colombiano, afrontar el estudio de una de las etapas después de un periodo histórico y nosotros lo llamamos la internacionalización constitucional, como resultado de la suscripción y ratificación de una serie de convenios internacionales. El Estado tiene claras obligaciones en múltiples sentidos, uno de ellos es obviamente el deber de protección y garantía. Ahora bien, no se debe perder de vista el realce de varias figuras jurídicas, tales como el principio del pacta sunt servanda, el bloque de constitucionalidad, y el fenómeno de globalización. Es importante considerar la problemática jurídica del respeto de los derechos humanos. No es un problema del régimen interno de cada Estado, en el sentido de tener que respetar únicamente las previsiones constitucionales, sino que, de manera mucho más extensa, se trata de integrar, complementar y compatibilizar el ordenamiento interno con las obligaciones adquiridas por vía de la firma y ratificación de tratados internacionales, máxime cuando se trata de temas referidos a los derechos humanos. La aproximación que se efectúa en el presente escrito comienza por el derecho primario de la vida, sin duda el más importante de todos los derechos humanos, y su tratamiento en su periodo de internacionalización constitucional, con especial reflexión en torno al Sistema Interamericano de Derechos Humanos, como escenario de protección que por excelencia vincula a Colombia.
