Abstract: bloom's taxonomy was created in order to support the classification of educational objectives and facilitate the process of teaching, learning and the cognitive development. even though bloom's taxonomy has proven to be a significant tool for the process of teaching, learning, and assessment, few educators use it adequately, mostly because its use is not as clear as it should be. this paper describes the bloom's taxonomy including its updated version, and has the objective of clarifying some important points of how to bloom's taxonomy can be used in engineering courses (teaching, learning, and assessment) to provide an adequate, planed, and controlled cognitive development.
Semiologia das afasias: uma discuss?o crítica
Pinto, Rosana do Carmo Novaes;Santana, Ana Paula;
Psicologia: Reflex?o e Crítica , 2009, DOI: 10.1590/S0102-79722009000300012
Abstract: the article discusses the semiology of aphasias, which started being developed in the 19th century by broca and wernicke. we do not provide an exhaustive list of symptoms and syndromes to address the theme, since we aim to critically discuss why the semiology of aphasias is still based mainly on organic perspectives in clinical practice and scientific research. we also discuss the contributions of luria and jakobson to a better understanding of how language is affected in aphasias and how modern linguistics, in special the discursive neurolinguistics, may enlighten the debate. we analyze some data to illustrate the theoretical and methodological assumptions of the above mentioned approaches and also discuss the excessive strength that classifications have in the clinical context.

Eccos Revista Científica , 2009,
Abstract: This paper proposes a reflection on the Law 10.639/03, given the lack of parliamentary debate on the significance of education in the construction of cultural and ethnic identity in Brazil. The objective is to confront the history teaching and Afro-Brazilian culture in the curriculum of elementary and secondary education as a strategy to fight for social inclusion of the black. The text contributes to clarify the positions of speech of the subjects involved in this debate and allows to contextualize the challenges in the production of public policies aimed at correcting social inequalities on the Brazilian scenario.

Open Journal of Gastroenterology (OJGas) , 2014, DOI: 10.4236/ojgas.2014.411049
Abstract: Non-atrophic active chronic gastritis (ACG) is characterized by the presence of H. pylori in the gastric epithelium, known to be one of the first steps that precede progression to gastric adenocarcinoma. Inactive chronic gastritis (ICG) suggests that the patient has H. pylori gastritis, but this diagnosis is rarely made in routine histopathology. Clinical manifestations associated with H. pylori infection are potentially due to differences in virulence between strains; however, it is unclear if the progression of ACG to ICG depends on the H. pylori strain. The aim of this study was to compare the prevalence of the virulence factors of H. pylori found in patients with ACG and ICG, and its influence on the development of ICG. A significant association was observed between H. pylori detection by histological examination and the activity of gastritis (p < 0.01). Long-term use of proton pump inhibitors (PPI) (>1 year) was reported by 28.6% of the ACG group and 42.5% of the ICG, while no evidence of association between long-term use of PPI and decreased inflammation was found in the patients studied. The genes cagA, cagE and virB11 were statistically associated with ACG (p = 0.01, p < 0.001 and p = 0.002, respectively). In the vacAs1 allele groups, ACG was associated with the most virulent group (p = 0.0015), while ICG was associated with the less virulent group (p < 0.001). The rate of co-infection was significantly higher in ICG than in ACG cases (p = 0.02). In conclusion, this study points to the role of virulent strains of H. pylori in the non-resolution of gastritis.
Environmental behavior and toxicity of herbicides atrazine and simazine

Ambiente e água : An Interdisciplinary Journal of Applied Science , 2013, DOI: 10.4136/ambi-agua.1073
Abstract: This article shows some environmental and toxicology aspects of triazine herbicides atrazine and simazine. These compounds are used to control weeds in sugar and corn crops. Despite being partially soluble, they can be detected in ground and surface water. Their mobility and biodegradation in the soil-water system can vary depending on the intrinsic characteristics of each matrice, such as organic matter content. Although considered slightly toxic, these herbicides have a strong ability to interfere in the nervous and endocrine systems of human and wild biota. The detoxification mechanisms are similar to other xenobiotics; however, little is known about the effects on human health caused by simazine. Therefore, the use of these compounds should be revised due to their environmental behavior and toxicological effects.

Jornal Brasileiro de Patologia e Medicina Laboratorial , 2009, DOI: 10.1590/S1676-24442009000400007
Abstract: introduction and objective: the pleomorphic adenoma is the most common salivary gland tumor. the parotid gland is the most frequent anatomic site. its clinical and microscopic features are widely known. however, its pathogenesis is still uncertain as well as the expression of oncogenes and other factors that influence malignant transformation. the objective of this study was to analyze the histopathological features of malignant transformation in pleomorphic adenoma (pa) of major salivary gland and correlate them with p53 protein expression in these tumors. material and method: we evaluated 106 cases of pa by researching clinical records retrospectively, reviewing histological preparations in he and applying immunohistochemical technique through streptavidin biotin method using primary anti-p53 antibody. results: histopathological changes related to malignant transformation were unusual: extensive hyalinization (5; 4.7%) and necrosis (1; 0.9%). there was positivity for p53 protein in 25 out of 106 cases (23.58%). the histological cell arrangement of p53 - positive tumors was mainly the ductal type (92%; 23) and cordonal (88%, 22). there was no statistically significant association between positivity for p53 and histopathological variables in comparison with negative cases: quantity and type of extracellular matrix, tissue changes suggestive of malignant transformation and metaplasia. conclusions: a few cases that showed p53 expression had some kind of morphological change suggestive of malignancy and the correlation between p53 immunoexpression and the presence of changes suggestive of malignant transformation was not statistically significant, which suggests that the protein expression in these tumors do not depend on these characteristics.
