Revista CEFAC , 2011, DOI: 10.1590/S1516-18462011005000058
Abstract: purpose: to comparatively analyze the change in types and tokens and the rate of type / token in children of both genders, aged between 18 and 36 months, native speakers of brazilian portuguese, as for grammatical category and total measure and segmental aspect. method: the speech of sixty children with typical language acquisition was recorded while playing with their mothers or teachers. the type/token ratio (ttr) and the total and segmental types and tokens were calculated, as for their grammatical distribution. the results were submitted to statistical analyses by student test and variance analysis (anova). results: the total number of types and the tokens is more effective to describe children grammatical evolution, among 18 and 32 months age, than the segmental one. substantives emerge first than verbs, adverbs, adjectives and others grammatical categories. all of the grammatical categories are in production at the 32 months of age. conclusion: no statistical differences were found among genders. the analysis of types and tokens is more effective than ttr and differentiated statically the ages: 18, 24 and 32 months. the segmental numbers of types and tokens is a less effective measure for the grammatical description in ages and genders.

Revista CEFAC , 2011, DOI: 10.1590/S1516-18462010005000073
Abstract: background: language in autism. purpose: the data obtained through two protocols and also from the dialogical analysis of the pair mother-son were analyzed comparatively and the therapeutic implications of these analysis were discussed. methods: the sample was made of three children between 2 years and 1 month and 4 years and 6 months with diagnosis within the autistic spectrum. the collect was carried out through video recording of mother-child play interaction sessions during 30 minutes. data analysis procedures were: video transcription and checking, application of two protocols, one concerning mother-son interaction analysis and another one child communicative behaviors, and a qualitative analysis of the linguistic function with the pair. results: the mother-child interaction protocol showed similar category frequencies between the three mothers, and elevated frequency of questions and intrusive directivity. in the same protocol, children demonstrated exploratory and functional play, verbal and non-verbal stereotypes, which were also observed in the child communicative behaviors protocol. the mother-child interaction protocol allows to better show the mother-child behavior linkage than the communicative one, but only qualitative analysis exposed the nature of this linkage. conclusion: the interactional protocol showed better information for therapeutic plan than the child communicative behaviors did. that protocol, with qualitative analysis, permitted more qualified election of therapeutic strategies.

Revista CEFAC , 2011,
Abstract: TEMA: Linguagem no Autismo. BACKGROUND: Language in autism. Michele Paula Moro,Ana Paula Ramos de Souza
Revista CEFAC , 2012,
