Sociologia, Problemas e Práticas , 2011,
Abstract: on the basis of a questionnaire survey carried out among portuguese children, this article aims to characterise their possession and usage of the internet. the survey ascertained that the children can be grouped under four distinct user profiles - ?confirmed cybernauts?, ?applied students?, ?inveterate gamers? and ?beginners? - and demonstrates that these profiles are highly conditioned by variables such as a child?s sex and age and his or her parents? educational levels and socio-professional categories. these profiles also correspond to different forms of parental mediation and different representations regarding the internet.

Agricultural Sciences (AS) , 2018, DOI: 10.4236/as.2018.911103
Abstract: The objective of this study was to evaluate the effect of omission of macronutrients on dry matter production and on the nutritional status of sunflower cv. BRS 122. The experiment was carried out in a greenhouse, in randomized blocks, with seven treatments corresponding to the Hoagland & Arnon standard solution (1950) and the individual omission of N, P, K, Ca, Mg and S, in three replicates. After 50 days of sowing, the dry matter and the nutritional status of the plants were evaluated. The omission of N, P, K, Ca, Mg and S limited the dry mass production of sunflower cv. BRS 122 in relation to the complete solution, besides causing nutritional imbalance due to the interaction between the nutrients. The omission of the macronutrients K, Ca, and Mg caused the higher imbalances in the plants, highlighting the elevated N contents in these treatments comparing to the complete solution.

Abstract: The purpose of this work was to determine the frequency of diagnoses of depression, suicide attempts, Sexually Transmitted Diseases (STDs), Human Immunodefficiency Virus (HIV) and pregnancy, in data collected from 2523 medical records of adolescents between the ages of 10 to 16 years old, and 17 to 25 years old, attended at University Hospital (University Hospital / State University of Londrina). Between the ages of 10 to 16 years old, the diagnoses and gender identification were: depression (6 female, 8 male); suicide attempts (2 female, 2 male); HIV (2 female, 1 male); STDs (8 female, 1 male); and pregnancy (n=227). As for the ages of 17 to 25 years old, the diagnoses and gender identification were: depression (46 female, 7 male); suicide attempts (11 female, 2 male); HIV (19 female, 9 male); STDs (90 female, 22 male); pregnancy (n=2074). These results suggest the increase of studied diagnoses at ages ranging from 17 to 25. Risk behavior started prematurely, around the ages of 10 to 16 years old. These results suggest the use of interventions that increase self-esteem and give proper attention to prevention by means of education and early detection, prior to high school.

Abstract: the present study consists of a qualitative evaluation of user satisfaction in the areas covered by the family health program, which are located within five municipalities of salvador (bahia, brazil). during the evaluation, the following dimensions were taken into account: cognitive, relational, organizational and professional; the family health teams' point of view was also considered. owing to criticism directed in the literature towards the methodological limitations of studies undertaking to evaluate user satisfaction, in particular biases linked to social expectations or to the reduction of the subjective process of evaluation through yes/no-type answers to sets of closed questions, we favored in this case methodological strategies that bear the hallmark of ethnography. through the focal groups technique, the users have been able to express their perception of the program and of the services offered by the teams while they were disclosing their needs and the satisfactions they expected from them.

Abstract: human immunodeficiency virus type 1 (hiv-positive) pregnant women require specific prophylactic and therapeutic approaches. the efficacy of established approaches is further challenged by co-infection with other sexually transmitted diseases (stds). the objective of this study was to determine the prevalence of co-infections in pregnant women infected with different hiv-1 subtypes and to relate these findings, together with additional demographic and clinical parameters, to maternal and infant outcomes. blood samples from pregnant women were collected and tested for syphilis, hepatitis b virus (hbv) and hepatitis c virus (hcv). human papillomavirus (hpv) diagnosis was evaluated by the presence of alterations in the cervical epithelium detected through a cytopathological exam. medical charts provided patient data for the mothers and children. statistical analyses were conducted with stata 9.0. we found a prevalence of 10.8% for hcv, 2.3% for chronic hbv, 3.1% for syphilis and 40.8% for hpv. of those co-infected with hpv, 52.9% presented high-grade intraepithelial lesions or in situ carcinoma. prematurity, birth weight, apgar 1' and 5' and capurro scores were similar between co-infected and non-co-infected women. the presence of other stds did not impact maternal and concept outcomes. more than half of the patients presenting cervical cytology abnormalities suggestive of hpv had high-grade squamous intraepithelial lesions or cervical cancer, evidencing an alarming rate of these lesions.

Abstract: Objective: Due to the lack of studies assessing hypovitaminosis D and secondary hyperparathyroidism in Brazilian HIV-infected population, especially in the northeastern population, this study aimed to determine the profile of these conditions in patients infected with HIV and its correlation with immuno-virological, sociodemographic data and associated comorbidities. Methods: Comparison studies were obtained from routine clinical samples of HIV infected patients submitted for 25-OH Vitamin D, PTH and alkaline phosphatase determination. Results: A total of 78 patients were included, 42 (53.8%) males, mean age 45.7 years. Antiretroviral regimens most used in this study were Zidovudine/Lamivudine/Efavirenz 17.9%, Tenofovir/Lamivudine/Efavirenz 17.9%,Tenofovir/Lamivudine/Atazanavir-r 15.4%. The mean value CD4 count was 592.1 ± 247.2 cells/mm3, CD8 cell count was 1026.5 ± 467.3 cells/mm3, mean detectable viral load was 2220 ± 15703 copies and CD4/CD8 ratio was 0.63 ± 0.33. A total of 34 vitamin D dosages were collected with 41.2% representing sufficient amount and 58.8% insufficient. Alkaline Phosphatase (ALP) dosage was elevated in 49.3% (N=35) of the patients. Parathormone (PTH) was elevated in 18% (N = 11). Among patients with elevated PTH levels, 81.9% had elevated levels of ALP (p = 0.01). In the group of patients with high levels of ALP, 45.7% had a CD4 count < 500 cels/mm3 (p = 0.02). There was no significant difference in vitamin D related to gender (p = 0.21), age (p = 0.23), CD4 count (p =
