Abstract: species of cassia are widely distributed in tropical and subtropical regions throughout the world, and have been extensively investigated chemically and pharmacologically.they are known to be a rich source of phenolic derivatives, most of them with important biological and pharmacological properties. some asian, african and indian tribes use these species as a laxative, purgative, antimicrobial, antipyretic, antiviral and anti-inflammatory agent. among a number of other classes of secondary metabolites, such as anthracene derivatives, antraquinones, steroids and stilbenoids, biologically active piperidine alkaloids are an especially important bioactive class of compounds that showed to be restricted to a small group of cassia species. in this paper we present an overview of the chemical, biological and ethnopharmacological data on cassia piblished in the literature.

Abstract: In the works of Mia Couto, the spaces and times take us to a hybrid Mozambican cultural identity, in which the elements from Bantu and European traditional culture, among others, mix. From the cronotropic Bakhtinian concept, we analyse the diversity in the images of the African river and house that appear in the short story "Nas águas do tempo" (n.t.: “In the waters of time”) as privileged times and spaces, conforming to a paradigmatic narrative that highlights the main compositional traces of the Couto production in the last years.

Silva, Ana Cláudia Barbosa da;Athayde, Milton;
Revista Brasileira de Saúde Ocupacional , 2008, DOI: 10.1590/S0303-76572008000100004
Abstract: psf (programa de saúde da família - family health program) is a strategy aimed at reorganizing public primary care in brazil. the program is quickly expanding its population coverage and increasing the number of hired professionals. its focus lies in changing its work process by implementing technological and organizational alterations aimed at increasing effectiveness of actions in the context of primary care, thus posing new challenges to health-care professionals. in this study we seek to understand the relation between work processes, health and subjectivation in the context of the family health program in a primary care unit of the unified health system, the brazilian public health system, in the south of the country, from the perspective of activity. we detected some gaps between psf prescriptive tasks and the actual work situation, which motivated professionals to struggle for their health by (re)defining their working methods. since this managerial system was adopted by the health unit, work process turned into a potential area for the development of inventiveness, which allowed joining efficiency and creativity, and helped strengthen their health gains.

Valladares, Ana Cláudia Afonso;Silva, Mariana Teixeira da;
Revista Gaúcha de Enfermagem , 2011, DOI: 10.1590/S1983-14472011000300002
Abstract: this study aimed to evaluate and compare the development of hospitalized children before and after art therapy interventions. qualitative case studies were undertaken in this descriptive-exploratory research, based on the developmental evaluation of the children. the study participants were five children between seven and ten years old, in the hospital of tropical illnesses (hdt) in the city of goiania, state of goiás, brazil, in 2006. results showed that art therapy interventions efficiently promoted children’s development. art therapy is a resource for positively channeling the variables of hospitalized children’s development and for neutralizing affective factors that naturally appear, as well as for exposing the child’s healthier potentials, which sometimes receive little stimulus in the context of hospitalization.
