Glasnik Srpskog Geografskog Dru?tva , 2011, DOI: 10.2298/gsgd1101171a
Abstract: In work, different possibilities are considered, which are offered by natural and social resources with the goal to change and modernize the teaching outside of the classroom in different environments. Modern teaching is based on the holistic, integrated approach in which the knowledge is viewed as a complete system in a constant process of transformation. Thus, the importance of the environment is asserted, the importance of the ambient in which the teaching process is being conducted. Authentic environment (natural and social resources) in which the teaching is realized, outside of the classroom, creates possibilities for learning through active working methods, independent research, exploration and noticing the relationships and connections. Teaching in the authentic environment offers a series of advantages for both the students and teacher-partners in the process of constructing a knowledge system. Using the resources and modern complex integration approach within the existing educational practice can significantly influence the modernization and innovation of the educational process, and can make the school, as a basic educational institution, a more suitable and more attractive for the generations to come.
Contents on the environmental protection in the geography textbooks for primary and secondary schools
Jovanovi? Slavoljub,?ivkovi? Ljiljana,An?elkoviSlaana
Glasnik Srpskog Geografskog Dru?tva , 2010, DOI: 10.2298/gsgd1001347j
Abstract: The paper analysis the contents of Geography textbooks which refer to the problems of the protection of the environment. The last publications of Geography textbooks for primary and secondary schools of the Zavod za ud benike i nastavna sredstva (Belgrade) were used as a sample. With this study we wanted to check at what extent the contents of the environmental protection are present in the contemporary Geography textbooks and how much they contribute to the formation of the system of ecologic knowledge and ecologic conscience of students with their structure. The analysis has showed that the problems of the environmental protection in the analyzed textbooks are not present enough, that they are mostly covered in integrative way, sporadically and declaratively. Undefined ecologic concepts are twice as much presented as defined. The explanations of notions are more often supported by examples than by factographic data, although the number of examples is insufficient. Especially, the examples from close surroundings are missing. With their structure, the present contents do not provide knowledge on numerous problems on the protection of the environment and they do not influence the development of ecologic attitudes, emotions and habits in students. Practical implications of the study are shown in the way that the results and conclusions can stimulate the authors of textbooks to change the approach in planning the contents of the future Geography textbooks... .
The development of the ecological paradigm: From school towards nature
An?elkoviSlaana,Stanisavljevi?-Petrovi? Zorica
Glasnik Srpskog Geografskog Dru?tva , 2012, DOI: 10.2298/gsgd1203049a
Abstract: This work contemplates on the possibility of the development of the ecological paradigm through the process of learning in authentic natural environments. The support to the development of the ecological paradigm is given by the current reformatory processes in schools that increasingly promote the openness of schools and the transfer of the stuffy process into informal environments, natural and social surroundings. Natural surroundings are filled with new challenges and comprise a challenging environment for students where they can explore, experiment, realize the relationships between objects and occurrences in nature. Authentic natural surroundings are a new kind of lecturing situation where they are given a chance for situational, cooperative and studying through experience. Being in touch with nature has effect on the cognitive, affective and psychomotoric development of the students, also on the building of a new kind of attitude towards nature based on the interconnection and mutual condicionality. Zbornik Matice Srpske za Drustvene Nauke , 2012, DOI: 10.2298/zmsdn1238071a
Abstract: This paper shows the importance of Serbian Orthodox confessional primary schools to maintain continuity in the process of upbringing and education of the Serbs in Romania, as well as their outstanding role in preserving traditions, national and cultural identintety. The central questions of work related to the operation and organization of the Serbian Orthodox confessional elementary schools, primarily with the pedagogical aspect, in terms of their curricula, textbooks, teaching organizations, as well as control of work and school financing. Serbian Orthodox confessional school during the entire period of its existence, accompanied by numerous problems and difficulties. The establishment and development of school followed by poor material conditions for educational work, a lack of qualified personnel, war (no) opportunities and poverty of the majority Serbian population, which is in a complex constellation of post-war socio-political circumstances, led to the abolition of these schools. Although they worked in very difficult conditions, as the only schools where the teaching is performed in the native language, they have drawn a significant mark on the part of achieving continuity in education, preservation of culture and tradition of the Serbian population in Romania.

Acta Chirurgica Iugoslavica , 2010, DOI: 10.2298/aci1004015b
Abstract: INTRODUCTION: Surgical treatment of the injuried flexor tensons is the important part of hand surgery. Tendon adhesions, ruptures, joint contcatures-stifness are only one part of the problem one is faced during the tendon treatment. In spite of improvement in surgical technique and suture material, the end result of sutured flexor tendons still represent a serious problem. THE AIM of study is to present of operative treatment of flexor pollicis longus injury with Krakow suture technique. METHODS. All patients are treated in the first 48 hours after the accident. The regional anesthesia was performed with use of turniquet. Beside spare debridement, the reconstruction of digital nerves was done. All patients started with active and pasive movements-excercises on the first postoperative day. Follow-up was from 6 to 24 months. In evaluation of functional recovery the grip strenght, pinch strenght, range of movements of interphalangeal and metacarpophalangeal joint and DASH score were used. RESULTS. In the last two years there were 30 patients, 25 males (83.33%) and 5 females (16.66%). Mean age was 39.8 years, ranged from 17 to 65 years. According to mechanism of injury the patients were divided in two groups: one with sharp and other with wider zone of injury. Concomitant digital nerve lesions was noticed in 15 patients (50%). CONCLUSION. The Krackow suture allowed early rehabilitation, which prevent tendon adhesions, enabled faster and better functional recovery.

Srpski Arhiv za Celokupno Lekarstvo , 2011, DOI: 10.2298/sarh1112780a
Abstract: Introduction. In his work the orthopaedic surgeon deals with a large number of peripheral nerve injuries, especially of the upper extremity. Most of these injuries involve the hand (30%). Objective. The aim of the study was to analyze the influence of some factors (age, aetiology, level of injury, associated injuries) on surgical treatment outcome of digital nerve injury of the hand. Methods. At the Department for Microsurgery 72 hospitalized patients were operated on due to the injury of common palmar digital nerves and proper palmar digital nerves. All operations were performed within the first 48h after injury and primary neurosuture was done in all. Beside the evaluation of demographic parameters, we also assessed aetiology of injury, associated injuries, level of injury, as well as the vascular status of the injured finger. Functional recovery was measured by the Medical Research Council (MCR) scale (S0-S4). Results. We found a statistically significant difference in sensory recovery according to age and aetiology of injury (p<0.05). Better results of sensory recovery were detected in cases with undamaged artery or where anastomosis was done, but without statistical significance. There was no statistical significance difference regarding the level and associated injuries. Conclusion. Two major factors in the recovery of digital nerve function are patient’s age and mechanism of injury. Having in mind the limited degree of recovery, the patient should be precisely informed preoperatively on the nature of injury and realistically expected results.

Acta Chirurgica Iugoslavica , 2003, DOI: 10.2298/aci0301055v
Abstract: Deficit if the functional integrity of the limbs as a consequence of the definitive lesions of the peripheral nerves necessitates surgical treatment aimed at regaining of the optimal mobility and strength of the parts of the limbs or whole limbs. Our study was aimed at presenting our experience in functional reconstruction of the extremities, evaluation of significance of primary and delayed microsurgical reconstruction of the injured nerves with respect to further course of treatment and presenting innovative modifications of certain surgical techniques. The total of 101 surgical procedures were performed in 91 patients, out of which 76 were at the level of the shoulder, elbow and hand and 29 were on the feet. Depending on the local findings, the following techniques were applied: transposition of the muscles and tendons, transfer of the free microneurovascular muscle flaps and surgical fusion of the joints. Functional improvement was achieved in 98,7% of the cases . Increased range of movements and strength depended on the applied technique and preoperative findings. Primary and delayed microsurgical reconstruction of nerves increases the probability for choice of adequate surgical techniques. Muscle and tendon transfers are the methods of choice in most of the patients. Free microneurovascular muscle flaps are applied in the most complicated cases.
Digital nerve injury of the hand: Epidemiologic and clinical analysis

Acta Chirurgica Iugoslavica , 2010, DOI: 10.2298/aci1004095a
Abstract: The aim of this study was to show the significance of epidemiologic factors of digital nerve injury and their social influence. 108 patients were operated with primary suture within first 48 h after injury. We record factors as sex, age, etiology, dominance and level of injury. Results of sensory recovery were measured by Medical Research Council scale (MCR). Males predominantly sustain this injury (83.3%) and we seen more frequently in the young adults. Average age is 34.7 years (from 16 to 70). These injuries rarely isolated and most of them are in the zone II (48.1%). The full recovery we have only in nine patients. Digital nerve injury of the hand are more often found in young mail adults who are work active. They are out of work even six months, and sometimes even more. Some of these injuries leaves permanent disability which have a socio- economic importance.
Attitudes of Serbian "returnees" about identity Serbs and Croats
Baro? Slaana
Glasnik Etnografskog Instituta SANU , 2005, DOI: 10.2298/gei0553105s
Abstract: Attitudes of Serbian "returnees" of Livanjsko polje about ethnic identity of Us, Serbs, and Them, Croats, are demonstrated in this article. Croats that have political control and social-economic power, appear as "Significant Others", but also Strangers, representatives of different peaceful and humanitarian organizations. Religious belief and language appear as basic symbol of difference, Marker, between Serbs and Croats, although existing attitudes in a bigger measure rely on religious belief. Basic attitudes about identity Us and Them are led out from interrelations of these Markers and people. There are two groups of attitudes about Us-identity. The 119 first group is mostly the answer at negative external determination, by which the Serbs are determinate as nationalists and aggressors. They are steered on negation of such definition, so the Serbs are generally seen as peaceful, tolerant, nationalists - internationalists; shortly, as bearers of positive collective, but also individual relation to Others. The second group of attitudes mainly relates negative aspects of Serbian identity. There are Serbian dissension, individual interests, generally - attitudes which speak about collective, but also individual negative relation of Serbs to members of their own group. Both groups of attitudes could be explaining by interrelation of orthodox religion and people. This determination of Us, as it is limited by external definition, in that way qualifies determination of Them. So, the Croats, considering the interrelation of Catholicism and people, are seen as nationalists, with clear religion - national aim and steered to its realization - as aggressors. Though, here are both negative and positive attitudes about Croat identity. If positive or negative aspects of that identity would obtain, before all depends of the fact in which measure the Croats are steered by their church, in fact, which politics, in the certain time, the catholic church prosecutes relate to orthodox church. Therefore the Croat appears as bearers of individual-positive relation to Others (Serbs), when the church do not steer them in other way. So, until the catholic, religious politics is neutral, harmonious ethnic relations are possible, owing this positive aspect of Croat identity at individual plan and aspects of Serbian identity at both, collective and individual, plan (regardless of effect of church). On concrete terrain of Livanjsko polje, Serbs see there selves as the most representative bearers of positive aspects of Serbian identity, and neighbor’s Croats (from Livno) as people w
Condom as a professional symbol among the persons engaged in sex work in Belgrade
Baro? Slaana
Glasnik Etnografskog Instituta SANU , 2006, DOI: 10.2298/gei0654201b
Abstract: Based on qualitative research data, this article exams the meaning of condom among persons engaged in sex work. Sex-work is a specific activity, with a sex service being an object of economic transaction. In order to delineate private sexual relationship and business sexual relationship sex workers rely on a professional code. Abiding to this code is valued positively by the professional group whereas disrespecting it leads to stigmatization of the offender within the group. The basic markers separating professional and private life in a continuum of sexuality are money as a sign and condom as a symbol. Use of condom during the sex-work relation is a symbol of correct approach to work and as such marks the border between professional and unprofessional way for doing the job in addition to marking the border between work and private life. The data show that within this borderline area in real-life situations, complex interactive relationship between sex-workers and their immediate environment leads to discrepancies in the consistency of condom use. The lack of consistent condom is present when a client or type of service is perceived as safe, i.e. carries the meaning of the category "with condom", or when some ambiguous environmental circumstances are present such as influence of the police or pimps, protectors and people related to private life of sex-worker. In the field of sex-work, condom grows from an object of infection prevention into an object that symbolizes professional ethics within sex-work and, in that way, it keeps an atmosphere of a healthy and clean private life for sex-workers.
