Abstract: Energetic Bacillus subtilis was preliminarily isolated from feather meal selection medium experiment, which could be used to produce Keratinase. Through using the ultraviolet ray produced by ultraviolet light and the compound mutation of sodium nitrite solution, a mutated strain was produced which can yield Kerati-nase with a high activity. The activity of Keratinase was 75.9% higher than that before the compound mutation. This was achieved by optimizing the fermentation medium of mutated strain. The optimum fermentation medium had the parameters as feather meal 5.5%, maize silage 0.8%, K+ 0.018 mol/L, Mg2+ 0.065 mol/L, Ca2+ 0.072 mol/L, Fe2+ 0.010 mol/L, and Na+ 0.088 mol/L. Based on the optimized fermentation medium, the highest yielding rate for producing enzyme was 1.117 U/mL, 25.22% higher than that before the optimization. The amino acid in the fermentation medium fluid reached 22.66 mg/mL. This paper presents a simple, and low cost way to produce high quality bio-fermentation feather meal.

Abstract: This paper examines why credit constraints for domestic and exporting firms arise in a setting where banks do not observe firms’ productivities. To maintain incentive-compatibility, banks lend below the amount needed for first-best production. The longer time needed for export shipments induces a tighter credit constraint on exporters than on purely domestic firms, even in the exporters’ home market. Greater risk faced by exporters also affects the credit extended by banks. Extra fixed costs reduce exports on the extensive margin, but can be offset by collateral held by exporting firms.

Abstract: This article describes the development of a Digital Integrated Circuit Design curriculum, which includes how to select the design level and how to implement the design. The curriculum is for the undergraduates in grade four, whose major is microelectronics. The development is in the background of very large scale integrated circuits. Since the popular design flow is a hierarchy of abstraction levels, the goal of the curriculum is to develop the students’ ability to design an actual circuit from scratch. Comparison is provided from two aspects. The first aspect is the contents of various published textbooks. The second aspect is the contents of similar courses in famous universities.

Abstract: Metaphor, as a matter of thought, a way of cognition, is pervasive in our everyday life and language. As human beings’ important cognitive way, metaphor also serves as one of the important ways for language to develop, including vocabulary. Traditionally, most students memorize vocabulary mechanically with unpleasant results. They don’t realize most words come from metaphorical way, and metaphor is an important process of word meanings expanding and evolution. This paper will give a brief discussion about conceptual metaphor theory and analyze how to apply this theory into vocabulary teaching in the EFL context, in order to help learners to learn vocabulary thoroughly, systematically, and efficiently.

Abstract: The power of investigation refers to the country’s investigation organ and investigators in order to achieve the purpose of the investigation: in accordance with legal procedures, using special investigative means to carry out the investigation activities of power. As the youngest police classification in China, Chinese air marshal is the important member that first faces the hijacking suspects, and the effective implementation of its investigation right is crucial on how to identify, investigate and prevent the hijacking behavior. This paper, using empirical analysis, comparative analysis and other research methods, aims to analyze and discuss how to overcome the defects of current Chinese air marshal’s investigation power existing in the hijacking in criminal cases, in order to obtain the earliest direct investigation clue, find the suspect, define the direction and determine the specific target of investigation, and then puts forward the conception and suggestion of some reform.
Oxidative Stress Induced by CuO Nanoparticles (CuO NPs) to Human Hepatocarcinoma (HepG2) Cells  [PDF]

Abstract: The toxicity of CuO nanoparticles (CuO NPs) to human hepatocarcinoma (HepG2) cells was investigated in this study. CuO NPs (1 - 40 mg/L) had significant toxicity to HepG2 cells. The antioxidant N-acetyl-L-cysteine (NAC) significantly reduces the cytotoxicity induced by the CuO NPs, supporting the hypothesis that oxidative stress contributes to the cytotoxicity of CuO NPs. To further explore the oxidative mechanisms of cytotoxicity, we examined CuO NPs-induced production of reactive oxygen species (ROS) in HepG2 cells. CuO NPs generated intracellular ROS in HepG2 cells in a concentration-dependent manner.

On the Interpretation of Fossil Nuclei  [PDF]

Abstract: Although organelle preservation in plant fossils is not novel and well-preserved plant mesofossils have contributed greatly to the understanding of plant evolution, subcellular structures are still a rarity in plant mesofossils. Although it is not easy to explore subcellular structures in plant fossils, related attempts are frequently seen. Among them, some false interpretation requires further inspection. To shed more light on this issue, here I studied Cretaceous charcoalified mesofossils from USA, using LM (light microscopy), SEM (scanning electron microscopy) and TEM (transmission electron microscopy) technologies. My conclusion shows that not all publications reflect the truthful existence of nuclei in plant fossils, and this study may provide a reference for the future research.
Numerical Simulation Study on the Detection of Weak Structural Plane of Rock Slope by Using 3D Electrical Resistivity Tomography  [PDF]

Abstract: The weak structure plane is an important factor affecting the stability of rock slope, and detecting the spatial structure of the weak structural plane is beneficial to analyze the stability of the slope and estimate the quantity of the landslide. Based on 3D electrical resistivity tomography, a model of rock slope with weak structure plane is established, and the characteristics of three-dimensional resistivity imaging of weak structure plane under different ground water conditions are simulated. The results show that the weak structural plane has a better reflection in 3D electrical resistivity tomography; the distribution of weak structural plane of 3D resistivity imaging can be roughly determined under different ground water conditions; the three-dimensional electrical resistivity tomography is feasible in the detection of weak structural plane of rock slope.
