Free radicals, oxidative stress and importance of antioxidants in human health

Abstract: Reactive oxygen species (ROS) is a collective term used for oxygen containing free radicals, depending on their reactivity and oxidizing ability. ROS participate in a variety of chemical reactions with biomolecules leading to a pathological condition known as oxidative stress. Antioxidants are employed to protect biomolecules from the damaging effects of such ROS. In the beginning, antioxidant research was mainly aimed at understanding free radical reactions of ROS with antioxidants employing biochemical assays and kinetic methods. Later on, studies began to be directed to monitor the ability of anti-oxidants to modulate cellular signaling proteins like receptors, secondary messengers, transcription factors, etc. Of late several studies have indicated that antioxidants can also have deleterious effects on human health depending on dosage and bio-availability. It is therefore, necessary to validate the utility of antioxidants in improvement of human health in order to take full advantage of their therapeutic potential.

Abstract: We introduce multilinear analogues of dyadic paraproduct operators and Haar Multipliers, and study boundedness properties of these operators and their commutators. We also characterize dyadic BMO functions via the boundedness of certain paraproducts and also via the boundedness of the commutators of multilinear Haar Multipliers and paraproduct operators.

Abstract: Recently we have extended our the "unified" model of evolutionary ecology to incorporate the {\it spatial inhomogeneities} of the eco-system and the {\it migration} of individual organisms from one patch to another within the same eco-system. In this paper an extension of our recent model is investigated so as to describe the {\it migration} and {\it speciation} in a more realistic way.

Abstract: The use of security increased consistently day by day. Huge amount of network requires large amount of security. For maintain things consistent and proper functioning, people require secure way to share information over the network. To accomplish this goal Virtual Private Network is one of the popular techniques. It constructs logical link by using existing public infrastructure. Internet is one of the public networks and VPN utilize the internet to connect the users. IPSec Protocol is a protocol suite based on VPN to protect the communication. For uninterrupted VPN services, it is necessary to provide some mechanism by the combination of tunneling and firewall. This paper proposes a new kind of configuration for security to the public network.

International migration and development: perspective from origin countries of migrants

Abstract: This paper seeks to critically analyze the role of migration to carry out development in origin countries of migrants. Now, migration and development; development in the origin of migrants’ is being widely discussed among governmental and non-governmental institutions in the world. At the same time the flow of migrants’ from economically less developed nations or regions to more developed nations or regions have been increased significantly. The volume of remittances also has been increased every year. Some countries adopted the policy of labour export since a long period of time but there is no achievement in development in the countries. The aim of this paper is to relate achievement in development of migrants’ origin countries with remittances with the help of available literature. The existing debate on migration and development is also a part of review of this paper. The migration-development relationship is complex and multidimensional, and that there is variation from one context to another with differences in the nature of migration and in the economic, political and social situations in origin and destination. It would be problematic and insufficient to analyze migration process and its consequences with the help of any single theory or approach of migration, because migration process has far reaching effects on national and international level and varies differently for different part of world on the basis of achievement on social, political, and economic development. ?? A Self-Organizing Neural Scheme for Door Detection in Different Environments

Abstract: Doors are important landmarks for indoor mobile robot navigation and also assist blind people to independently access unfamiliar buildings. Most existing algorithms of door detection are limited to work for familiar environments because of restricted assumptions about color, texture and shape. In this paper we propose a novel approach which employs feature based classification and uses the Kohonen Self-Organizing Map (SOM) for the purpose of door detection. Generic and stable features are used for the training of SOM that increase the performance significantly: concavity, bottom-edge intensity profile and door edges. To validate the robustness and generalizability of our method, we collected a large dataset of real world door images from a variety of environments and different lighting conditions. The algorithm achieves more than 95% detection which demonstrates that our door detection method is generic and robust with variations of color, texture, occlusions, lighting condition, scales, and viewpoints.
