Abstract: Os profissionais, usuários e demais envolvidos no atendimento odontológico est o expostos a diversos riscos ocupacionais. Professionals, users and other people involved in dental treatment services are exposed to several kinds of occupational risks. The objective of this research was to learn about the activities developed at the dental clinic; identify the existence of occupational risks and the individual protection equipment used;investigate the occurrence of accidents; and indentify the training received and the suggestions for accident prevention. The non-probabilistic sample was composed of 61 university students, 27faculty and 12 administrative technicians. Data collection was carried out in two stages: the observation of the treatments performed and a semi-structured questionnaire. Most of the 28observations were conducted at the Integrated Clinic for Adults (53.6%), followed by observations at the Integrated Clinic for Children (35.7%) and at the Dental Section (10.7%). According to all the professors and technicians, there are risks in the activities performed, with biological and accident risks as the most cited by the subjects. The majority (98.4%) of university students consider theexistence of risks, 1.6% of them deny it, and 8.2% of them have already suffered an accident. Concerning the

Abstract: works on school failure, with a critical comprehension of the relationship between school and society, are more frequent than works on school success. some brazilian scholars have investigated well succeeded scholar trajectories, but their focus were on the family educative practices. the aim of this article is to discuss questions related to the participation of school in extended scholar trajectories in lower classes. in order to reach this goal, we will analyze some features of two interviews carried out with two low-class students of pedagogy of a public university. supported by some studies in the area, as well as based on some concepts of historical-cultural theory, we discuss how school was present in the construction of the analyzed trajectories.

Revista Brasileira de Ciência do Solo , 2010, DOI: 10.1590/S0100-06832010000300035
Abstract: contents of 137cs have been used to quantify soil loss or accumulations, based on values of reference sites with little soil disturbance in the last decades. in northeastern brazil no such sites have been evaluated yet. three areas with flat topography, native vegetation and undisturbed soil were selected in of goiana, araripina and sertania counties, state of pernambuco. four points in each area were marked at a distance of 20 to 50 m away from each other and soil samples were collected in 3 cm depth intervals, down to 30 cm. the 137cs activities were determined using gamma spectrometry with a hyperpure germanium detector. average contents of 137cs (bq m-2) were 71.6 ± 6.3 in goiana, 64.0 ± 13.8 in araripina and 95.5 ± 9.8 in sertania. values in this range have been reported in paraíba and bahia, and higher ones in the southeastern region, confirming the reduction of stocks in areas closer to the equator. the highest activities occurred in the surface layers, ranging from 0.5 to 1.6 bq kg-1, and decreased linearly with depth until the detection limits: 18 cm in araripina, 15 cm in goiana, and 9 cm in sertania. in goiana, the activity was highest (2.06 ± 1.0 bq kg-1) in an organic horizon above a inorganic horizon. the high activities and stock and lower depth in sertania could be explained by the predominance of 2:1 clay minerals versus 1:1 clay minerals in the other areas. 137cs activities were positively correlated with water and kcl ph values and negatively correlated with al concentrations. the results confirm that, in the reference areas, 137cs activities are highest in the surface layers, decreasing regularly down the soil profile.

Abstract: the aim of this study was to analyze the laboratorial performance of dentin-bonding agents, glass ionomer cements and compomers, regarding the sealing of the gingival margins of class v cavities, prepared on the cementoenamel junction. standardized class v cavities (4 x 3 x 2 mm) were prepared on the buccal and lingual/palatal surfaces of 20 extracted human third molars. forty cavities were restored with different combinations of materials, as follows: group 1 (g1)- vitremer (3m); group 2 (g2)- vitremer (3m) and syntac sprint/tetric ceram (vivadent); group 3 (g3)- syntac sprint/tetric ceram (vivadent); group 4 (g4)- prime & bond 2.1/variglass (dentsply). after thermocycling in methylene blue dye, the specimens were longitudinally sectioned and analyzed with a stereoscopic lens in order to evaluate the leakage on the gingival margin. the obtained data were analyzed with the mann-whitney test, and the results revealed significantly better sealing (p = 0.05) in g1, when compared with g4. no significant differences were seen between the other groups. under the given conditions, vitremer offered better sealing of the gingival margin than the system prime & bond 2.1/variglass.

Abstract: purpose: to investigate and compare the school literacy performance of 1st and 2nd grades elementary school individuals of a public school, before and after reflexive practices in language programs (rplp). methods: ninety-seven students of the 1st grade and 149 of the 2nd grade, between the years 2006 and 2008, took part in this study. the subjects were submitted to school literacy screenings before and after the rplp. the programs had an average duration of four months, and were carried out in a collective situation in classrooms, and in partnership with the teachers of the selected classes. they were prepared according to the guiding themes: promotion of literacy practices; awareness about use of voice and noise levels at school; promotion of oral and written narratives, involving meta-language and, mainly, phonological awareness and the promotion of reading practices and reading comprehension. at the end of each program, final screenings were carried out in order to analyze and compare students' performance before and after their implementation. data were qualitatively and quantitatively analyzed. results: significant performance differences were found between 1st and 2nd grades, in both initial and final screenings, in the subtests dictation, words and sentences reading and sentence cloze were found. conclusion: second grade had better results than first grade. the results were more significant in subtests that required deeper understanding of the phoneme-grapheme association and vice-versa, suggesting that school literacy is necessary when social literacy is not present.
