La condición de la aporía y la apuesta kantiana
Altamirano,Manuel;
T?3picos , 2011,
Abstract: in this paper i look over the contemporary (poststructuralist) constitution of what can be called the aporetic condition of our philosophical thought, mainly based on jaques derrida's and ernesto laclau's works, as well as the constitution of this special condition in immanuel kant's trascendental dialectic (critique of pure reason). focusing on this subject, (1) i analize the wager whereby kant opens a way to break through the imposibilty of any resolution implied by this antinomy, a bet that leads to his practical philosophy, and (2) i check out the relation between this apory and the foundational concept of the unconditional (unbedingt). in a final section, i establish five main diferences that our age demands regarding this kantian proposal, explaining why and on which particular moment of the kantian philosophy we should interrupt the unity of the system, preserving the attitude and the performative decision whereby he opens a way through the antinomy, but rejecting such concepts as duty or categorical imperative, concepts that should be replaced by new ones, more in agreement with our present constrictions.
Um mundo em crise
Altamirano, Carlos;
Tempo Social , 2009, DOI: 10.1590/S0103-20702009000200002
Abstract: this study analyzes a sector of argentine thought from the 1930s, represented in the essays on the national 'soul' or character. this essay writing produced a number of texts that were transformed, through critical appraisal, into classics on the country itself - such as radiografía de la pampa by ezequiel martínez estrada, and historia de una pasión argentina by eduardo mallea - and which emerged out of a political crisis - whose first notable effect was the 1930 coup d'état - and a more widespread disruption of the intellectual points of reference caused by the exhaustion of positivism as a paradigm among the cultural elites. the unease provoked by the national political context merged with the unease stemming from european thought concerning the crisis - the crisis of spirit, of the liberal order and of capitalism - and this amalgam fed a state of intellectual discontent that took concrete form in the essay. in an ever broader way, this genre stimulated a profound revision of liberal argentina. among the texts involved in this process we can highlight the essays by martínez estrada and mallea, analyzed in the final part of the study.

In this paper I look over the contemporary (poststructuralist) constitution of what can be called the aporetic condition of our philosophical thought, mainly based on Jaques Derrida's and Ernesto Laclau's works, as well as the constitution of this special condition in Immanuel Kant's Trascendental Dialectic (Critique of Pure Reason). Female representations in the Mexican traditional ballad. Heroines and antiheroines
Altamirano, Magdalena
Revista de Dialectología y Tradiciones Populares , 2010,
Abstract: This article examines several female representations of the Mexican traditional ballad (corrido), positive and negative, in secondary or in primary roles. In traditional ballads of Mexico, women’s prominence tends to increase throughout actions that are seen as an offense to male characters and which result in the assassination of the offenders. However, in the traditional corrido, women can acquire a positive main role through their performance in armed fights, as long as women use their masculine skills —bravery or ability in the use of weapons— to collaborate in the defense of male characters. The influence of other ballad manifestations, for example commercial corridos or narcocorridos, might help to increase the presence of the brave woman archetype in the traditional ballads of Mexico.

Abstract: a multitemporal analysis to determine the land cover change was conduced in the pre-andean range of maule region of chile. we used satellite imagery from the year 1989 and 2003 to analyze the likely causes of native forest change. in this period, there was a reduction in native forest area of 44% in the study area, which is equivalent to an annual forest loss rate of 4.1%. the native forest area is replaced by shrublands (29%) and exotic forest plantations (27%). a great proportion of current exotic forest plantations are established on lands that were native forest in 1989 (63%). most forest loss was associated with intermediate elevation and less distance to road network, where native forest area dominated. native forest replacing by shrublands was associated to selective forest logging and firewood, which leads to degradation of these forests. native forest replacing by exotic forest plantations was the result of the forestation incentive and an increase in the demand for forest products such as wood and pulp. because of multiple impacts of the forest loss, we propose to focus the government incentives. priority areas for incentives must be characterized by high forest loss rate and poverty, presence of threatened species and low availability of water from catchments. moreover, we propose to prioritize the connectivity of the current network protected areas and to develop an effective forest management monitoring system using advanced technologies.
DESDE LAS FUERZAS MáGICAS HASTA ROBERTO KOCH: UN ENFOQUE EPIDEMIOLóGICO DE LA TUBERCULOSIS
MORENO ALTAMIRANO, LAURA;
Revista del Instituto Nacional de Enfermedades Respiratorias , 2004,
Abstract: since the beginning of history tuberculosis, "the white death", has been a disease that has caused enormous impairment to humanity. since it is considered an epidemic, if not pandemic, we review the historical pathway of this illness, considered a transmissible disease. we will review its causes through history and the scientists who devoted themselves to study it, until the discovery of robert koch (1843-1910) (nobel, 1905) of the bacillus. the preventive and curative measures are also revised until we get to the discovery of the vaccine bcg (calmette-guérin bacillus) in our modern age, 1919 to be precise, supposedly to be the end of this scourge. nevertheless, nowadays we have the disease among us, increased and virulent. this is the so called "sickness of the poverty", social sickness of the masses. so, from the "magic forces" up to our age, we contend with tb, sickness already know by egyptians and babylonians and suffered still by humanity in our newborn xxi century.
