Expectations of high school young and adult students towards the school and their relation to the discipline of biology: an experience in a public school of Rio de Janeiro
Alexandre Marques Jaloto
Educa??o : Teoria e Prática , 2011,
Abstract: Youth and Adult Education (EJA) is a basic education modality which constitutes a space with distinct characteristics of regular education. Such characteristics are due to the public which it is destined to: individuals with education delay who seek the completion of elementary education to keep in the race against exclusion in our competitive society. This study aims to understand the expectations of youth and adult students from a teacher’s experience and establish a connection with the curricular options of this modality of education. Thus, this paper discusses the history of EJA and the diversity of its public. The diversity and expectations of students from this modality of education will be analyzed through texts produced by them, analyses that guided the elaboration of two activities carried out in the classroom. The paper defends the importance of the teacher’s consideration on her/his aims, as well as the school’s and students' goals, with regard to Biology teaching, to adopt curricular options. One concludes the materials produced should consider the specificities of EJA and its public, besides contributing to the understanding and use of scientific language and to build an emancipative pedagogy which is, indeed, socially transformative.

Abstract: This version intends to broach the historical data for training and organization of the city, as well as presenting the city - the context object of this research. Proposes the identification of the architectural language of the city in the formative years, as well as the trajectory of the production in developmental period. From the discussions proposed by the graphics, the article has these objectives: The first moment make a survey the city, understanding the process of urban transformation until the 1960s, then intended to know the production architectural inserted in that period. The method is build with analysis applicants and scientific research simple and objective. Will it develop, in principle, using data on urban development and city development.

Acta Scientiarum. Agronomy , 2011, DOI: 10.4025/actasciagron.v33i4.7975
Abstract: soil fertility variability management is one of the pioneering and important areas in which precision agriculture has been commercially applied. consequently, the objective of this work was to predict soil chemical attributes through spectral responses. the 1,000 ha study area used for this report was located in uberlandia, mg, brazil. thirty sampling points were established, at which the soil was collected at 3 different depths. the samples were chemically and physically analyzed and the radiometric data obtained in the 400 - 2500 nm range. multiple regression equations were generated for sum of bases, cation exchange capacity, base saturation, aluminum saturation, ph, p, k, ca, mg, al, and h, all using 60 soil samples. h, al, m%, and ph were found to have r2 values less than 0.50. equations with an r2 > 0.50 for the other attributes were tested for the 30 unknown soil samples, and the estimated values were obtained. these values were then compared with those determined by conventional analysis. the coefficients of correlation were higher than 50% for all attributes except p and v%. results indicated that determining chemical attributes with models that are specific for the region is feasible.
Termoterapia transpupilar como op??o terapêutica para hemangioma circunscrito de coróide: relato de caso
Roizenblatt, Jaime;Rosa, Alexandre Antonio Marques;
Arquivos Brasileiros de Oftalmologia , 2002, DOI: 10.1590/S0004-27492002000200018
Abstract: the authors describe a case of a circumscribed choroidal hemangioma with secondary retinal detachment treated with transpupillary thermotherapy using diode laser. the settings were: 900 mw power, 4.2 mm spot, for 3 minutes, quadrasphericò lens (volka) with a magnification factor of 1.97. one month later, there was a significant shrinkage of the hemangioma with full recovery of vision in this eye. the authors discuss some aspects of this method, which seems promising in treatment of this vascular tumors.
Informa??es espectroeletromagnéticas e topográficas na determina??o de teores de componentes do solo
Genú, Aline Marques;Demattê, José Alexandre M.;
Bragantia , 2010, DOI: 10.1590/S0006-87052010000100020
Abstract: the obtention of soil quantitative information by non destructive techniques, like remote sensing and digital elevation model (dem) open a possibility of faster and cheaper evaluation on soil studies. this study aims at verifying the possibility of quantifying soil atributtes through aster orbital sensor data and topographic features. the study area, with 184 ha, located in rafard county, s?o paulo state, brazil, was sampled in a grid way collecting 1 sample/ha. reflectance data was obtained from aster image and topographic features from dem. then, using orbital an topographic data were generated a multiple regression equation for soil attributes. the dependent variables were selected by a forward stepwise method. after that, the models with r2 > 0.50 were tested with unknown soil samples and the estimated values (ve) and the determined values (vd) were evaluated through scatterplots. sio2, fe2o3, tio2 and clay attributes were tested and, fe2o3 and clay obtained higher values of determination coefficient. it is conclude that the models generated with spectral data and topographic information allowed the quantification of the above cited soil components.
Influência da morfologia do terreno nas características do solo em terrenos agrícolas do Alentejo: aplica??o de classifica??es geomorfométricas
Alexandre,Carlos; Silva,José R. Marques da;
Revista de Ciências Agrárias , 2009,
Abstract: this paper applies a digital elevation model (dem) to produce and compare different classifications of land morphology in respect to its potential to differentiate soil thickness and soil texture. land morphology classifications are based on field observation (utobs and peobs-l) or on geomorphometric variables calculated on a dem (utx, utx-l and pex-l). they are tested in a field area located 80 km at east of évora, near terena, alandroal, in a parcel cultivated with maize, irrigated by centre pivot since 1994, with an undulated morphology where slopes gradient vary between 1% and 28%. the study area was surveyed using a methodology based on the global positioning system, and a dem was produced to calculate some local and regional geomorphometric parameters for the entire area. soil sampling was made using a mechanical cylindrical probe with 87 mm of diameter and 120 cm of depth, and was concentrated in two sites (a and b) following a relatively regular scheme. soil thickness and texture of the 0-20 cm layer for the 203 soil samples are used to evaluate the degree of homogeneity and differentiation of the land units (ut), defined by the morphologic classifications. none of the tested classifications is able to differentiate meaningful soil groups based only on texture (0-20 cm). results are better for soil thickness, especially for observed maximum soil depth (pmx) and soil depth to r layer (pr), for which the qualitative sequence of classifications are as follow: utobs-l > peobs-l > pex-l. classifications based on field observation give the best results but the classifications based on geomorphometric variables of regional nature (pex-l) are better than those based ones on local variables (utx and utx-l). for soil thickness, the elimination of ut < 100 m2 improved the results for all the classifications.
Fatores influenciadores dos cuidados de enfermagem domiciliários na preven??o de úlceras por press?o

Revista de Enfermagem Referência , 2011,
Abstract: epidemiological levels of pressure ulcers (pu) in domiciliary care are higher than those in any other type of care in the azores region (ar). our goal is to analyze the factors that influence nursing care for pu prevention in domiciliary care, so that they can be monitored or improved to provide quality care. a quantitative descriptive study, with an analytical intention, was carried out, and included all ar domiciliary care nurses. we analyzed the content of open questions, and this was followed by a quantitative analysis using the spss 16.0 statistical program. from this data analysis we showed that there is a small percentage of nurses who evaluate the risk of developing a pu; the majority of the nurses include the informal caregiver; the nurses’ training in this area is up-to-date. we found a reduced amount of pressure relief devices and a scarce availability of prevention protocols. the factors that positively or negatively influence satisfactory care, depending on its abundance or scarcity are: material resources and human resources; nursing training and internal prevention policies of the institutions. on the other hand, the frequency of domiciliary visits, involvement of caregivers and partnership with other healthcare professionals are enhancers of pu prevention.
