El método tuvo buena aceptación en el 99,6 % de los investigados An observational descriptive research was made in order to know the behavior of major surgery applied to outpatients from the Service of General Surgery of the "Capitán Roberto Rodriguez Fernández" General Teaching Hospital, in Morón, from January 1st, 1996, to June 30th, 1998. La mortalidad fue de 2,8 % An observational descriptive research was made to know the behaviour of some clinicosurgical aspects of the spontaneous pneumothorax, which was diagnosed in 180 patients attended at the Service of General Surgery of the "Capitán Roberto Rodriguez Fernández" Provincial General Hospital, in Morón, from 1985 to 1999, including both.
Luis A. Rojas,Alexánder Mora,Harold Rodríguez
EFFECT OF TREE AGE ON VARIATION OF PINUS RADIATA D. DON CHEMICAL COMPOSITION
Alexánder Berrocal,Jaime Baeza,Jaime Rodríguez,Miguel Espinosa
Journal of the Chilean Chemical Society , 2004,
Abstract: In this current research, the chemical composition of Pinus radiata D. Don trees from different age classes was determined. To achieve this, a hydrolysis with trifluoroacetic acid method was used. Significant differences on chemical composition associated to age were found. Values obtained are necessary to establish feasibility of using this biomass resource at ages in which, sugar contents result both quality and quantity favorable to produce biofuels (bioethanol process) or chemical compounds (biorefinery process).
Rodríguez,Ferney Alexánder; Henao,Adriana Isabel; Osorno,Susana Cristina; Jaimes,Fabián Alberto;
Acta Medica Colombiana , 2008,
Abstract: host response against infection may produce a wide spectrum of clinical manifestations, from sepsis to organ dysfunction and death. since the underlying process is complex, clinical findings are varied and may be so subtle that a high level of diagnostic suspicion is required. clinical judgment should be complemented with appropriate laboratory tests so that the correct treatment, including haemodynamic optimization, antimicrobial therapy and general supportive measures, can be started early.

Revista Ingenierías Universidad de Medellín , 2007,
Abstract: databases are tools to store and manage information, the better they are distributed, the easier and more efficient will its access be. at present, thanks to technological development of fields such as computer science and electronics, most of them have an electronic format, since they offer a wide rank of solutions to the store data problem. in this paper, we present the design and development of a database for range images, based on the relational model and a design methodology consisting of three steps: conceptual design, logical design, and physical design. the data base has a web access. a multi-resolution algorithm was developed to improve the time cost in visualization and renderization, by using decimation parameters based on the curvature. a web interface was developed in order to provide an easy access, consequently, it is possible to enter, update, and eliminate models on a reliable and simple way. at present, the database counts on 40 models divided in 3 categories: faces (22), museum (4) and objects of free form (14). the use of the multi-resolution algorithm allows saving up to 96% of computational cost.

Revista Ingenierías Universidad de Medellín , 2007,
Abstract: the main objective of this research project was to evaluate in a laboratory the change in mechanical strength that dense hot asphalt mixtures go through when waste polymeric additives of plastomeric type (polyvinyl chloride, high density polyethylene and polystyrene) are added to asphalt cement, by 'wet way'. this change was evaluated using marshall test. the general conclusion of the experimental results was that modified hot asphalt mixtures present better mechanical behavior than conventional mixtures (mixtures which use asphalt without additives).
