Duquesne Alderete,Amílcar;
Educaci?3n M??dica Superior , 2011,
Abstract: one concept that decisively influences over the learning process in the university polyclinics is the information literacy, which is the set of skills required by people to realize when information is needed and how to locate, assess and use it efficiently. it makes emphasis on the contents, the communication, the analysis, the search, the evaluation and the use of information. the literate people in information are those who have learned the way of getting knowledge. attaining skilled and information literate students is rapidly becoming a fundamental objective for many counties. the new university polyclinics do not ignore this reality.

Revista Cubana de Inform??tica M??dica , 2011,
Abstract: the knowledge management is one of the essential aspects in the formation of the new basic general doctor. an adequate knowledge management in an academic institution has vital importance for the correct functioning of the university. the new doctor's formation program does not escape to this reality. it is presented how are applied some components of the knowledge management, such as the teaching structure, the preparation of students and teachers and the use of the information and communication technologies in the context of the new doctor's formation program.
Alderete,Ethel; Bianchini,Pablo;
Medicina (Buenos Aires) , 2008,
Abstract: we examined patterns of alcohol consumption and blood alcohol levels in emergency room patients. the study was conducted in a public hospital of the province of jujuy, argentina. a survey was conducted among all patients during the 24 hours of 4 consecutive days (n=500) using the alcohol use disorders identification test, short version (audit-c). blood samples were collected in 84% of participants. results showed that 37% were hazardous drinkers (men 50% vs. women 23%), 29% had symptoms of dependence (men 48% vs. women 11%); 17% of men and 3% of women had high blood alcohol levels, equal or greater than 50 mg/dl. in multivariate logistic regression models men had increased likelihood of hazardous drinking (adjusted or 3.2; 95% ci 2.1-5.0), symptoms of dependence (adjusted or 7.5; 95% ci 4.4-12.7) and increased blood alcohol levels (adjusted or 8.0; 95% ci 2.2-28.8), compared with women. patients admitted due to accidents, violence, or drug use, had increased likelihood of hazardous drinking (adjusted or 2.4; 95% ci 1.5-3.9), dependence symptoms (adjusted or 2.0; 95% ci 1.2-3.3) and increased blood alcohol levels (adjusted or 7.7; 95% ci 3.0-19.8), compared with those admitted for other reasons. alcoholism has a significant impact on the occurrence of injuries and on the demand imposed on health services. prevention programs can potentially reduce the negative health and social impact of alcoholism.
The Syn-Anti Equilibrium of Guanosine Cyclic 3',5'- Monophosphate and 8-Sustituted Derivatives: A Theoretical Study
ALDERETE,JOEL B.;
Boletín de la Sociedad Chilena de Química , 2000, DOI: 10.4067/S0366-16442000000300004
Abstract: abstract the syn-anti conformational equilibrium for a series of nine cyclic nucleotides was studied at semiempirical am1 level. the am1 results indicate that for guanosine cyclic 3',5'-monophosphate and their derivatives substituted at 8-position, the syn-conformers are more stable than the anti ones. for purine derivatives without an amino group at position 2, which participate in a hydrogen bonding with the axial oxygen of the phosphate group, the anti conformation is preferred. the am1 results suggest that syn-anti equilibruim is a dominant factor for the binding of cyclic nucleotides to cyclic phosphodiesterases. reinterpretation of experimental results for the competitive inhibition of c-gmp-stimulated phosphodiesterase was performed.
Bejarano,Ignacio; Alderete,Ethel;
Cuadernos de la Facultad de Humanidades y Ciencias Sociales. Universidad Nacional de Jujuy , 2009,
Abstract: the term "negative emotions" refers to emotions that produce a distressing emotional experience namely, anxiety, anger, sadness or depression. the objective of this study was to examine and discuss negative emotions as predictors of tobacco use initiation in adolescents living in different geographic regions of the province of jujuy, argentina. we conducted 159 individual interviews and 38 focal groups among 302 adolescents of both sexes (10-19 years of age). results indicate that: 1) most of adolescents interviewed initiated tobacco consumption very prematurely without knowing why and without knowing the exact consequences of such decision; 2) negative emotions played an important role in the initiation of consumption, with anxiety playing the most salient role; 3) negative emotions emerge as a response to specific situations and circumstances; 4) anxiety is frequently associated with depression, sadness and loneliness; 5) we did not find differences across geographic regions. negative emotions reported in this study reflect individual life experiences. when these emotional states are strong, frequent, or prolonged in time, adolescents show a tendency to change their behavior deviating from health lifestyles and adopting addictive conducts such as tobacco consumption.
Bergesio,L.; Alderete,E.;
Cuadernos de la Facultad de Humanidades y Ciencias Sociales. Universidad Nacional de Jujuy , 2009,
Abstract: the tobacco epidemic is a global phenomenon. it is estimated today that the number of smokers of both sexes amounts to one third of the adult population globally of which 7 percent are women. in developed countries, make it a 42 per cent of males and 24 per cent of women. and though it seems to be a prevalent problem in men, women grow steadily and rapidly in the statistics. the overall objective of this study seeks to identify the continuities and ruptures in the constructions of gender among smokers and non-smokers, differentiated by region and area, and point out its connection with the consumption of snuff. the analysis is done from a gender perspective and interpretation, based on interviews with teenagers and young men and women, smokers and non-smokers, conducted during the years 2003 and 2004 in three different geographical areas of the province of jujuy: capital, puna and quebrada (all areas that pertain to the andean latin america). in these interviews sought to identify common features, differentiating by gender, smoking/not smoking and then only between the smoking as and in third place among the as no smoking. from this initial identification, and a second time, were analyzed qualitative/interpretive, comparative geographical areas from a gender perspective.
Consumo de alcohol en la consulta de una sala de emergencia Alcohol consumption in the emergency room
Ethel Alderete,Pablo Bianchini
Medicina (Buenos Aires) , 2008,
The Syn-Anti Equilibrium of Guanosine Cyclic 3',5'- Monophosphate and 8-Sustituted Derivatives: A Theoretical Study
JOEL B. ALDERETE

E-commerce between a large firm and a SME supplier: a screening model
Alderete Maria Veronica
Computer Science , 2009,
Abstract: This paper derives a model of screening contracts in the presence of positive network effects when building an electronic commerce network (e-commerce) between a large firm and a small and medium sized enterprise (SME) supplier based on Compte (2008). Compte (2008) main insight is that when several potential candidates compete for the task, the principal will in general improve the performance of his firm by inducing the member candidates to assess their competence before signing the contract (through an appropriate choice of contracts). The large firm (principal) must choose between different SME suppliers (agents) to build a business to business e-commerce network. In the presence of positive network externalities, we show that social surplus increases.
