The nature of proteins in influenza  [PDF]

Abstract: Mutation can alter the structure of viral proteins to form different structure. Carbon distribution is responsible for these changes in structure. The carbon distribution in proteins of human Influenza A virus is analyzed here. Results reveal that the carbon contents are high in surface proteins, optimum in polymerase proteins and less in nuclear proteins. Polymerase proteins have better carbon distribution pattern than the other proteins. Thymine distribution in different frames of mRNAs are checked as it has link with carbon distribution pattern in the corresponding proteins. Results show that frame 4 is violating from thymine distribution. This is responsible for production of protein with different carbon distribution. Unusual thymine distribution in frame 3 are observed. The thymine distributions are different in viral mRNA compared to normal one. Minimizing the excess thymine in H1N1 mRNAs might improve the protein performance. Mutational study based on carbon distribution should be better exploited for further improving the protein stability, activity and ultimately for gene therapy.
What Might be the Difference in Viral Proteins?

Abstract: The difference between normal and viral proteins is the way the amino acids organized in someform. Though both proteins use same 20 naturally occurring amino acids, it differs in arrangements. Thisdifference cannot be felt by merely comparing the amino acid sequence but at atom level. This is analysedand compared in terms of carbon distribution as carbon is the only element that contributes towards thedominant force, hydrophobic interaction. For this purpose the arenaviruses have been selected here forstudy. The protein sequences of 7 arenaviruses are analysed. Our results show that the carbon distributionin viral proteins is different from the normal proteins. Either the carbon content is different or the distributionis not uniform. This carbon distribution analysis uses our earlier report of 31.44% of carbon for its structureand activity.
ANTI - INFLAMMATORY AND ANTINOCICEPTIVE ACTIVITY OF TWO SIDDHA FORMULATIONS IN COMBINATION

Abstract: In Siddha system of medicine, the two formulations Vedikara silasathu parpam and Nerunjil kudineer in combination is given for urinary tract infection. Inhibition in the synthesis of inflammatory mediators and prostaglandins owe to the anti- inflammatory and antinociceptive properties of the drugs. In this study, the two Siddha formulations VSP and NK in combination was evaluated for anti- inflammatory activity by means of carrageenan induced rat paw edema method and antinociceptive activity with tail flick method in Wistar albino rats. In the carrageenan induced paw edema technique, rats at the dosage of 500mg/kg/p.o of VSP and NK, significant (p<0.001) inhibition of inflammatory progression was observed than the control group. In the tail flick method, VSP and NK at dosage of 500 mg dose, increased the tail withdrawal time significantly (p<0.001) when compared to the control group. This study had established the significant anti- inflammatory and antinociceptive activity of VSP and NK.
Data Quality Enhancement with Novel Search Technique to Avoid Repetition of Records

Abstract: Data quality is the assessment of data’s fitness to serve its purpose in a given context. Characteristics of data quality include: Accuracy, Completeness, Update status, Relevance, Reliability, Appropriate presentation, Accessibility. Data quality is the major problem experienced by many data entry operators. Our project reduces the possible errors more effectively by incorporating a novel search technique which will avoid repetition of data. During a survey, our system initially will create forms dynamically and the required questions can be entered. Then, the questions can be automatically re-ordered by setting necessary constraints to the questions. The default entry values can be entered for any question where the data needs to be constant. While entering data during the process of survey, the system will automatically re-ask the data-entry operators to enter the appropriate data. Then the search technique will search for the previous data and show whether the particular data is already in database or not.
Web Prior Architecture to Avoid Threats and Enhance Intrusion Response System

Abstract: Web is hierarchically composed of entities such as domains, Web sites and documents distributed over Web sites and linked together by hyperlinks. The response component of the intrusion detection system issues the response to the jarring requests. In this paper, the intension is to allow the legitimate user to access the target website and perform the selective operations on the database to avoid threats and protect the database from unauthorized users. The designed Web Prior Architecture (WPA) permits the legal client to obtain the privilege license by clicking on an authority link provided by the referrer. Using this license, the client can get the liberty to perform the operations on the target website. In that website, database can be accessed by the client with the selective permissions. These can be performed by the two methods, namely strategy toning and strategy management. By this way, the database is accessed in a highly securable manner. The massive scale of this study specifies the method to avoid the threats from the unauthorized users and augment the intrusion response system. This will protect the target website and its database from the unconstitutional users. Our pragmatic study demonstrates that Web Prior Architecture enables the legitimate user to connect to the target website and perform selective database operations.

Abstract: The main key point of preferential image segmentation is to segment object of user interest based on intensities, boundaries and texture and ignoring the remaining portions. It explains the trees of shapes torepresent image content. In the tree of shape we use algorithms called as FLLT (Fast Level Line Transform) and JSEG (Jsegmentation). Here both the algorithm are compared and an analysis is done to display the result of objects selected from prior images.

Abstract: In our lives are governed by large, complex systems with increasingly complex software, and the safety, security, and reliability of these systems has become a major concern. As the software in today’ssystems grows larger, it has more defects, and these defects adversely affect the safety, security, and reliability of the systems. Software engineering is the application of a systematic, disciplined, quantifiable approach to the development, operation, andmaintenance of software. Software divides into two pieces: internal and external quality characteristics.External quality characteristics are those parts of a product that face its users, where internal quality characteristics are those that do not.Quality is conformance to product requirements and should be free. This research concerns the role of software Quality. Software reliability is an important facet of software quality. It is the probability of failure-freeoperation of a computer program in a specified environment for a specified time. In software reliability modeling, the parameters of the model are typically estimated from the test data of the corresponding component. However, the widely used point estimatorsare subject to random variations in the data, resulting in uncertainties in these estimated parameters. This research describes a new approach to the problem of software testing. The approach is based on Bayesian graphical models and presents formal mechanisms forthe logical structuring of the software testing problem, the probabilistic and statistical treatment of the uncertainties to be addressed, the test design and analysis process, and the incorporation and implication of test results. Once constructed, the models produced are dynamic representations of the software testingproblem. It explains need of the common test-and-fix software quality strategy is no longer adequate, and characterizes the properties of the quality strategy.
Effect of phenolic compounds released during degradation of Coir pith by Oscillatoria annae on Albino rat (Rattus norvegicus)

Abstract: This study was carried out to investigate the effect of degraded coir pith based cyanobacterial culture filtrate on Rattus norvegicus. The culture filtrate containing phenolic compound was administered at a rate of 42 mg/Kg for 15 days and its effect on serum glucose, protein, creatinine, urea, uric acid, alkaline phosphate (ALP), serum glutamic oxaloacetic transaminase (SGOT), serum glutamic pyruvic transaminase (SGPT) and sperm analysis was studied. The results showed a significant reduction in the levels of serum glucose and liver marker enzymes while serum protein and renal function test showed normal level in both experimental and control rats. Also, a significant reduction in semen count was reported. The results suggested that the phenolic compound of the culture filtrate appears to be non toxic in the tested animals
Study of User Behavior Pattern in Mobile Environment

Abstract: Mobile communication is rapidly emergent articulation of the communication surroundings. Users move to the various location and access various services to accomplish their requirements in mobile environment. These location navigation and service invocation are characterized as a Mobile User Behavior Pattern (MUBP).User behavior pattern analyses mobile user’s destination point and their service utilization. Region pattern inquires the details of users target location. Access pattern specifies the services utilized by mobile users. User behavior pattern provides better quality and good services to the mobile users in time. User behavior patterns are not only helpful for user, but also for service providers. Analysis of user behavior pattern gives benefit to the users by invoking the services without traffic congestion problem and to the service providers by contributing the immediate response to mobile users. This study analyzes the behavior of user pattern in detail related to existing work of 24 authors from the past few years.
Glucose lowering eff ect of aqueous extract of Bauhinia tomentosa L. on alloxan induced type 2 diabetes mellitus in wistar albino rats

Abstract: The study was designed to evaluate the anti-diabetic effect of aqueous extract of Bauhinia tomentosa L. leaf on alloxan induced Wistar albino rats. Diabetes was induced in albino rat models with alloxan monohydrate (150mg/kg body weight). Aqueous leaf extract of Bauhinia tomentosa at the dose of 300 mg/kg was orally administered once a day for 30 days to the diabetic animals. In this study, glycemic parameters, lipid parameters and serum enzymes were reducedwhereas the level of high-density lipoprotein-cholesterol was elevated. The extract significantly increased the total protein and glycogen level in the liver of diabetic rats. Furthermore, the liver carbohydrate metabolizing enzymes were normalized by the administration of the extracts. Histopatholgical examination results of liver, pancreas and kidney were normal in general. The above results indicated the anti-diabetic efficacy of the B.tomentosa leaf extract.
