Peripheral cemento-ossifying fibroma of maxilla
Chatterjee Anirban,Ajmera Neha,Singh Amit
Journal of the Indian Society of Periodontology , 2010,
Abstract: Peripheral cemento-ossifying fibroma is a reactive gingival overgrowth occurring frequently in anterior maxilla. It is a slow-growing benign tumor which may lead to pathologic migration and other periodontal problems, so it should be excised as soon as possible. The recurrence rate of peripheral cemento-ossifying fibroma is reported to be 8% to 20%, so a close postoperative follow-up is required. Herein, we are reporting a similar case of peripheral cemento-ossifying fibroma in the maxillary anterior region.
Synthesis, spectral characterization and biological evaluation of 4H-1,4-benzothiazines, their sulfones and ribofuranosides
Naveen Gautam,Neha Ajmera,Shikha Gupta,Dinesh Chand Gautam
European Journal of Chemistry , 2012, DOI: 10.5155/eurjchem.3.1.106-111.489
Abstract: Synthesis of heterocyclic compounds like benzothiazines has attracted attention in recent years due to their biological and industrial value. This article reflects up-to-date and comprehensive coverage of biochemical aspects of benzothiazines, their sulfones and ribofuranosides. The nitrogen and sulfur containing heterocycles were prepared by condensation followed by oxidative cyclization of 2-aminobenzenethiol with β-diketones/β-ketoesters in dimethylsulfoxide. These compounds were then used as base to prepare ribofuranosides by treating them with sugar (β-D-ribofuranose-1-acetate-2,3,5-tribenzoate). On refluxing with hydrogen peroxide in glacial acetic acid, these substituted dimethyl 4H-1,4-benzothiazines yielded 4H-1,4-benzothiazine-1,1-dioxides. Antioxidant and antimicrobial activity of these compounds were carried out and structure evaluation was done by spectral and elemental analysis.

Abstract: There are very few reports on successful management of young children with coexistence of two congenital heart defects, coarctation of aorta and patent ductus arteriosus. These lesions can be treated either simultaneously or sequentially. Herein, we present the first successful report of simultaneous balloon angioplasty and Amplatzer duct occluder device implantation in a single-sitting in an 8-year-old boy with severe aortic coarctation and patent ductus arteriosus. The coarctation gradient decreased from 70 mmHg to 10 mmHg and a complete closure of the ductus arteriosus was achieved without any complication. Fellow interventional cardiologists may consider single-stage transcatheter treatment in young children with combination of these two lesions.
E-Learning Quality Criteria and Aspects

Computer Science , 2014,
Abstract: As IT grows the impact of new technology reflects in more or less every field. Education also gets new dimensions with the advancement in IT sector. Nowadays education is not limited to books and black boards only it gets a new way i.e. electronic media. Although with e-learning, the education having broader phenomena, yet it is in budding stage. Quality is a crucial issue for education as well as e-learning. It is required to serve qualitative and standardization education. Quality cannot be expressed and set by a simple definition, since in itself quality is a very abstract notion. The specified context and the perspectives of users need to be taken into account when defining quality in e-learning. It is also essential to classify suitable criteria to address quality.

Abstract: Medical Tourism has become one of the latest trends in the tourism industry which has been and has the potential to continue growing exponentially every year. More travelers than ever before are now travelling abroad to get high quality medical treatments for less cost. The purpose of my study is to explore the interest in US travelers in medical tourism. Results from the survey indicated that “competent doctors”, “high quality medical treatment facility”, and “prompt medical treatment when needed” where the top three factors before deciding whether or not to take a trip abroad. The results will be useful to businesses that are either directly or indirectly involved with this industry, such as insurance companies, credit card companies, travel agencies, hotels, food and beverage companies, medical facilities and services, and spas.
Energy Saving in WSN with Directed Connectivity  [PDF]
Neha Deshpande, Arvind Shaligram
Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) , 2013, DOI: 10.4236/wsn.2013.56015

Wireless Sensor Networks have been implemented in many indoor applications such as offices, hospitals, laboratories for monitoring the parameters such as temperature, humidity etc. Most of the applications have used omnidirectional antennas. In randomly deployed ad hoc wireless sensor networks, this may be useful to achieve coverage and connectivity with unknown neighbors. In case of deterministic deployments such as in case of food grain storages where locations of the sensor nodes are mostly fixed, the main challenges are unstable and vacillating conditions in the godowns during loading and unloading of sacs as well as unpredictable changes in climate. Most of the commercial motes generally use omnidirectional antennas. Energy overheads increase considerably with omnidirectional antennas. Directivity increases energy saving but may be at the cost of redundancy. This paper is mainly focused on the energy advantage in ad hoc wireless sensor networks deployed in large food grain storages and energy overheads required for obtaining certain level of redundancy using directional antennas. Finally, we conclude that energy advantage can be achieved even if we overcome redundancy to certain extent.

Extracting Significant Patterns for Oral Cancer Detection Using Apriori Algorithm  [PDF]
Neha Sharma, Hari Om
Intelligent Information Management (IIM) , 2014, DOI: 10.4236/iim.2014.62005

Presently, no effective tool exists for early diagnosis and treatment of oral cancer. Here, we describe an approach for cancer detection and prevention based on analysis using association rule mining. The data analyzed are pertaining to clinical symptoms, history of addiction, co-morbid condition and survivability of the cancer patients. The extracted rules are useful in taking clinical judgments and making right decisions related to the disease. The results shown here are promising and show the potential use of this approach toward eventual development of diagnostic assay and treatment with sufficient support and confidence suitable for detection of early-stage oral cancer.

World Journal of AIDS (WJA) , 2017, DOI: 10.4236/wja.2017.74021
HIV/AIDS remains one of the world’s most significant public health challenges, particularly in low and middle-income region. China has witnessed a moderate effect of global HIV/AIDS endemic for which HIV/AIDS awareness and prevention program have been developed and conducted. In China the university students are among the affected target population because of the recent development of casual attitude towards sex, the rapid economic revolution and degradation of traditional value. The purpose of this paper is to describe HIV/AIDS knowledge, attitudes, and practice and identify personal risk behaviors among students in China. Selection of the articles suitable for the review was done from 2007 to 2016 on the basis of their study regarding HIV/AIDS in accordance with different students of schools, undergraduate and postgraduate study. Knowledge of the students is accordance with their education level while attitude have no relation with the knowledge and still there is unsafe sexual practice present among students. Although students have good knowledge regarding HIV/AIDS, they have still negative attitude towards HIV/AIDS patients. There are still misconceptions especially concerning mosquitos and kissing as routes of transmission of HIV. There is difficulty in separating HIV from AIDS by many students. Due to insufficient knowledge regarding HIV/AIDS among school students many of them believe that there is a medicine that can cure HIV/AIDS. Comparatively Students are more focused on knowledge regarding HIV/AIDS rather than developing and maintaining safe sexual behavior among the students. We believe that the review will help to focus further into the more effective attitude based implementation of knowledge and practice among Chinese students.

Agricultural Sciences (AS) , 2013, DOI: 10.4236/as.2013.49069

The main aim of present study is to ascertain the fungal species and their effect on germination associated with wheat seeds. Seeds of three varieties WH896, PBW-373 and HD264 of wheat (Triticum aestivum) were collected from Quarsi Agriculture Farm Aligarh. These three seed samples of wheat showing different forms of discouloration and abnormalities were screened for associated fungi. Microscopic examination of wheat seeds reveals that seeds of all the varieties of wheat possess injuries to varying extent. Detailed examination of the seeds has shown that the seeds can be classified on the basis of extent of injury in the three categories viz., seeds having minor cracks, cracks without exposed embryo and cracks with exposed embryo. Seed soaking and washing techniques were also employed. Fusarium moniliforme and Alternaria alternata were isolated from all the categories of seed tested. Floating mycelial bits and conidia of Alternaria, Fusarium, Drechslera, Curvularia lunata, Mucor were found in all the three varieties of wheat. The seeds were subjected to visual observation and examination under stereoscopic microscope. These findings are to study and detect the phytopathogenic mycoflora which causes damage and loss to our seeds and crops.

The SPAARS approach: implications for psychopathy
Neha Khetrapal
Poiesis & Praxis , 2009, DOI: 10.1007/s10202-008-0059-x
