Research and Enlightenment of Intellectual Property Insurance  [PDF]

Abstract: Insurance is a tool for diversifying risks and reducing losses, and is also a reasonable means for risk management under market economy conditions. In daily life, individuals and companies are also exposed to infringement or litigation risks when they exercise intellectual property rights. This will bring huge economic burdens to individuals or businesses. Currently, intellectual property infringement cases in China are on the rise every year. Intellectual property insurance is an insurance system established for the purpose of infringement of intellectual property rights, compensation for intellectual property litigation costs and damages. At present, intellectual property insurance is practiced in many countries. The author introduces foreign intellectual property insurance legal system such as United States, Britain and Japan, also the present situation of intellectual property insurance in China, especially a series of practices in intellectual property insurance field in China. Therefore, under this background, the studies and analyzes current situation of intellectual property insurance of these countries are necessary for China to establish a legal system, which will help China to form a protective system of intellectual property rights of legal relief, administrative arbitration and economic compensation, it has some advantages, it should be as an important part of China’s intellectual property strategy.

Abstract: With the development of science and technology, the technology represented by the Internet and modern communication is gradually changing the whole society. The traditional trading methods and advanced Internet technology create a new way of transactionelectronic commerce transaction. While electronic commerce brings the efficiency and wealth to the human society, it also takes the effect on the tax implications. The e-commerce has raised a serious challenge to the current tax policy, tax system and international tax issues. In order to protect the financial interests, different countries demonstrate different attitudes and propose corresponding tax measures to adapt and improve the development of e-commerce. In China, electronic commerce has led to some serious problems, such as the difficulties in tax collection and management, and growing of the tax revenue loss. Currently, e-commerce guidance policy is staying on the macro-level. Without specific tax system, there will be inevitably results of the loss of state revenue and the block of fair competition between e-commerce and traditional transactions if our country does not introduce the reasonable e-commerce-related tax policies and measures. For the issue of China’s e-commerce taxation, this paper discusses the relationship between e-commerce and economic growth and tax revenue on the basis of foreign experience in tax policy, and puts forward tax policy advice of our country’s electronic commerce.

Abstract:

In order to reduce the risks for the spread of disease in cattle movements, we investigated China’s cattle breeding and movement pattern, analyzed risk factors of disease infection caused by long-distance movement, explored the relevant risk management measures and conjectured the direction of cattle movement based on the regional distribution of cattle inventory and beef price. We also constructed a market value chain in live cattle movements and qualitatively analyzed the risks for unapparent infection in the process of movement. Meanwhile, we put forward a long-term policy of reducing the risks for unapparent infection and animal health supervision measures.

Identification of one peptide which inhibited infectivity of avian infectious bronchitis virus in vitro

Abstract: Purified avian infectious bronchitis virus (IBV) was used to screen a random phage display peptide library. After the fourth panning, 10 positive phages were sequenced and characterized. The phages specifically inhibited IBV infectivity in HeLa cells and blocked IBV haemagglutination. One linear peptide “GSH HRH VHS PFV” from the positive phages with the highest neutralization titer was synthesized and this peptide inhibited IBV infection in HeLa as well. The results may contribute to development of antiviral therapeutics for IBV and studying the determinants for viral and cell interaction.

Characterization of the Mechanism of Inhibin α-Subunit Gene in Mouse Anterior Pituitary Cells by RNA Interference

Abstract: Inhibin, a member of the transforming growth factor-β [TGF-β] superfamily, is a suppressor of follicle-stimulating hormone [FSH] release through pituitary–gonadal negative feedback loop to regulate follicular development. In this study, Inhibin α-subunit [Inha] gene was knocked down successfully in mice primary anterior pituitary cells at both transcriptional and translational levels by RNAi-Ready pSIREN-RetroQ-ZsGreen Vector mediated recombinant pshRNA vectors. The results indicated that inhibin silencing significantly promoted apoptosis by up-regulating Caspase-3, Bax and Bcl-2 genes without affecting p53 both at transcriptional and translational levels. Furthermore, it markedly impaired the progression of G1 phase of cell cycle and decreased the amount of cells in S phase [as detected by flow cytometry]. Inhibin silencing resulted in significant up-regulation of mRNA and protein expressions of Gondotropin releasing hormone receptors [GnRHR] and down-regulated mRNA levels of β-glycans with parellel change in the amount of its protein expression. Silencing of inhibin-a significantly increased [P<0.05] activin-β concentration without affecting FSH and LH levels in anterior pituitary cells. These findings revealed that up regulation of GnRH receptors by silencing inhibin a-subunit gene might increase the concentration of activin-β in the culture medium. Inhibin a silencing resulted in increased mRNA and protein expressions of inhibinβ which may demonstrate that both inhibin subunits co-participate in the regulation of reproductive events in anterior pituitary cells. This study concludes that inhibin is a broad regulatory marker in anterior pituitary cells by regulating apoptosis, cellular progression and simultaneously by vital fluctuations in the hormonal signaling.

Abstract: The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of an individual nurse-led educational intervention for patients with psoriatic arthritis (PsA). This was a case-control study. The case group consisted of six individual educational sessions delivered by a nurse. A total of 40 patients with PsA joined in this study: the case group (n = 20) and the control group (n = 18). After a 6-week intervention, the case group had significantly better management for the severity of arthritis symptoms (p < 0.05), better psychological well-being and significant lower levels of anxiety (p < 0.05), and depression score (p < 0.01), and reported better improvement of physical and psychological domain of quality of life (QOL) (both p values < 0.05) than the control group. In conclusion, this nurse-led individual education intervention has statistically significant benefits for the management of clinical symptoms of arthritis and for psychological well-being and QOL in patients with PsA.
The Effect of Cangfudaotan Tang on Expression of Organic Anion Transporting Polypeptide (oatp4a1) in Rat Ovary and Uterus Tissues of Obese PCOS  [PDF]

Abstract: Objective: The objective is to explore the effect of Cangfudaotan Tang on expression of organic anion transporting polypeptide (oatp4a1) in ovary and uterus tissues in rats with obese polycystic ovary syndrome. Methods: Poresky method and high fat diet were used to build obese PCOS rat models. The PCOS rat models were randomized into model control group, metformin group, the low dose Cangfudaotan Tang group and the high dose Cangfudaotan Tang group with 10 rats in each group. The metformin group was treated with metformin 43 mg/100g intragastric administration for two weeks, and the high dose Cangfudaotan Tang group and the low dose Cangfudaotan Tang group were given Cangfudaotan Tang 5.68 g/kg/d and 1.42 g/kg/d intragastric administration respectively for two weeks. Then the rats were anesthetized. Each rat was taken ovary and uterus tissues, and the expression of oatp4a1 Protein was detected in the tissues by using Western Blot techniques. The level of sex hormones as testosterone (T), follicle stimulating hormone (FSH), estradiol (E2), and luteinizing hormone (LH) and insulin resistance were detected by ELLISA techniques. Results: The expression of oatp4a1 in rat ovary and uterus tissue of model group was down-regulated compared to blank control group (p ≤ 0.05). The expression of oatp4a1 in ovary and uterus tissue of treatment group was up-regulated compared to model group (p < 0.05). The metformin group and the high does Cangfudaotan group were more apparent, while there was no statistical significance between the metformin group and the high dose Cangfudaotan group. Moreover, the model PCOS group had higher serum T, LH/FSH (p < 0.01) and lower E2 level (p < 0.01) compared to normal group. After treatment, serum T, LH (p < 0.01) and LH/FSH (P < 0.01) were decreased in metformin group and Cangfudaotan Tang group (p < 0.01) compared with those in PCOS model group. However, there was no significantly difference in serum T, LH, LH/FSH and E2 between metformin group and the high dose Cangfudaotan Tang group. Conclusion: The mechanism of Cangfudaotan Tang treatment of obese PCOS may be correlated to oatp4a1 by transportation and transformation of phlegmy dampness and regulating the levels of sex hormone.

Abstract: Objective: To explore the effect of Cangfudaotan Tang on phlegm dampness type of PCOS and the role of oatp2b1 in transportation and transformation of phlegm dampness. Methods: 36 SD female rats were randomly divided into three groups: blank control group, model group and Cangfudaotan Tang group, 12 cases in each one. After PCOS rat models were made, rats of Cangfudaotan Tang group were treated with Cangfudaotan Tang (1.42 g/kg/d) by intragastric administration for 14 days; blank control and model group were given with isodose saline. The expression of oatp2b1 mRNA/Protein in liver and kidney tissues was measured and the level of testosterone (T), follicle stimulating hormone(FSH), estradiol (E2), luteinizing hormone(LH), Serum total cholesterol (TG), Triacylglycerols (TC), high density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C) and low density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) were detected at the same time. Results: Compared with blank control group, the expression of oatp2b1 mRNA and the level of TC, TG, LDL, LH, FSH, T in model group were significantly increased (P < 0. 05), while the level of HDL was significantly decreased (P < 0. 05); compared with model group, the expression of oatp2b1 mRNA and the level of TC, TG, LDL in Cangfudaotan Tang group were significantly lowered (P < 0.05); the level of HDL was significantly higher; the oatp2b1 protein in kidney and liver tissues had different degrees of expression, while there was no statistical significance among the three groups. Conclusions: Oatp2b1 might be one of the material bases participating in transportation and transformation of phlegmy dampness. The mechanism of Cangfudaotan Tang treating phlegm dampness type of PCOS may be achieved by regulating the expression of oatp2b1.
