Digital Current Control of Switched Reluctance Motor
Zeki Omac,Hasan Kurum,Ahmet Hakan Selcuk
International Journal of Electrical and Power Engineering , 2012, DOI: 10.3923/ijepe.2011.54.61
Abstract: In this study, the torque produced by a switched reluctance motor having 18 poles in stator and 12 poles in rotor is calculated by using Finite element method. 18/12 SRM is compared with 12/8 and 6/4 poles SRMs according to their radial forces acting on rotor poles. Closed loop current model of the SRM under interest is also built and simulation results are obtained by computer. Closed loop current control application of SRM is performed by using a TMS320LF2407A Digital Signal Processor (DSP). Simulation results of closed loop current control of the SRM are compared with experimental results

Open Journal of Internal Medicine (OJIM) , 2012, DOI: 10.4236/ojim.2012.23025
Abstract: Objectives: Total leukocyte count, a marker of inflammation has long been reported to be related with coronary artery disease (CAD). Recently, differenttial leukocyte count and elevated neutrophil to lymphocyte ratio (N/L) has been shown to indicate an increased long-term risk of mortality in patients with stable CAD, myocardial infarction and undergoing cardiovascular surgery. Thses studies offer incremental prognostic value to total leukocyte count. We sought to determine the relationship between the leukocyte subtypes and N/L ratio and the presence and extent of CAD. Study design: The study consisted of 107 patients [70 (65.4%) men, 37 (34.6%) women, mean age 59.5 ± 10.6 years] referred to coronary angiography with suspected CAD. The subjects were classified into two groups according to the presence of significant CAD and the extent of CAD was determined by the Gensini method. Results: The lymphocyte count was found to be lower (2031 ± 741 cells/μL vs 2392 ± 611 cells/μL, p: 0.010) and the N/L ratio was found to be higher in patients with CAD (2.86 ± 1.57 vs 2.04 ± 1.01, p < 0.001). In correlation analysis, the lymphocyte count and N/L ratio were significantly correlated with the presence and severity of CAD. Multivariate analysis identified N/L as the only independent pre dictor of CAD after adjustment for traditional cardiovascular risk factors [odds ratio: 1.961, 95% confidence interval (1.223, 3.143), p: 0.005]. Conclusion: Our findings reveal that N/L ratio, a simple marker which can be derived from a routine complete blood count test was significantly and independently related to presence and severity of coronary atherosclerosis.

International Journal of Human Sciences , 2012,
Abstract: The people of different societies are feeling the effects of globalization very strongly in their daily life. The rapid advances in the technological arena as well as the high-speed communication made the transformation harsher for developing countries. Turkey is one of those countries which experiences transformation even harder than many other developing countries in the globe, as a result of turmoil it has been enduring in the last 30 years. In this paper we analyze why Turkey has been experiencing all this turbulence much more severe and in a more complex way. As a requirement, we have had a short look at the foundation of the Turkish republic and its progress towards modernization. Then, we have assessed the recent developments occurring in Turkey from the globalization perspective as well the effects of the globalization process on this country.
The Effects of the Characteristics of Adolescence on the Science Process Skills of the Child

Journal of Applied Sciences , 2007,
Abstract: The research has been carried out in order to raise the interest levels of the adolescents who study at the secondary school for science and technology and in order to determine the science process skills to establish the information themselves by finding out the research ways like a scientist. Scanning technique is used in the research. The research has been carried out on the secondary school students whose socio-cultural level is high and study at Yavuz Selim Primary School which is in the centre of Sivas and on the students whose socio-cultural levels are comparatively rather low and study at Kiranardi Primary school which is far from the city centre of Kayseri at 2006-2007 education period. In the research, Science process skills test is used to test the science process skills the adolescents own. The data gained from this testing vehicle (too) have been evaluated by the help of t-test and analyze. Consequently; it has been discovered that the science process skills of the adolescents do not differ according to their sexes and ages but according to their socio-cultural conditions.
On a Subspace Training Method for Dispersive DS-CDMA Channels

Aksaray University Journal of Science and Engineering , 2017, DOI: -
Abstract: A subspace training method has been proposed for dispersive direct-sequence code division multiple access (DS-CDMA) channels. Its performance was compared to a matched filter receiver. We think that it is not quite fair to compare a minimum mean square error (MMSE) based receiver to a matched filter receiver. For this reason, we further investigate the method demonstrating that its performance significantly falls short of the true MMSE receiver and that it suffers from error floor. We also illustrate that any attempt to fill the gap significantly increases the system complexity and drops the efficiency of the transmission, which were originally mentioned as the advantages of the proposed method.

Journal of Animal and Veterinary Advances , 2012, DOI: 10.3923/javaa.2010.1646.1649
Abstract: Trichomoniasis is sexually transmitted disease in cattle. Causative agent of trichomoniasis is Tritrichomonas foetus that colonizes only in the reproductive tract mucosa of cattle and causes from mild vaginitis or cervicitis to endometritis, transient or permanent infertility and abortion, leading to economic losses. The parasite is transmitted from infected bulls to heifers/cows during mating. The aim of the study was to investigate the prevalence of T. foetus infection in dairy cows with some reproductive disorders in Aydin Province of Turkey. In this study 164 dairy cows between 2-9 years old suffered from various reproductive disorders (vaginal discharge, metritis, abortus, repeat breeder and anoestrus) were used. For this purpose, smears prepared from the vagina were fixed for 15 min by fixative solution. The slides were then air-dried, stained with Giemsa for 40 min and washed with distilled water. All slides were then examined microscopically. The primary purpose of staining is to optimize the visualization of key anatomic structures to facilitate accurate identification of an organism. The percentage of infected cows was found 8.53% (n = 14). Two out of 7 cows with vaginal discharge, 3 out of 41 cows with metritis, 4 out of 4 cows with abortus and 5 out of 36 cows with repeat breeder were found as T. foetus positive. Anoestrus cows were not positive.
