The Role of Emotional Intelligence on Workforce Agility in the Workplace

Abstract: This study is investigating the relationship between emotional intelligence and agility of the workforce in order to determine how indicators of emotional intelligence facilitate the agility at the individual level. Statistical Population of this study includes managers, supervisors and staffs of food companies and the simple random sampling method is used. Data has been analyzed by using hierarchical regression statistical methods and comparing average. The survey results have showed that emotional intelligence factors have an impact on workforce agility .The results also have revealed that factors which are related to interpersonal competence (Self-awareness, self-control and self-motivation) have more effects on the agility than factors which are related to social competence (empathy and relation management) and have a greater role in workforce agility changes. Use of the results of this survey in the selection and training of human resources help to create appropriate environment for changing management and organizations movement to agility.
Influence of soaking time in deep cryogenic treatment on the microstructure and mechanical properties of low-alloy medium-carbon HY-TUF steel

Abstract: The influence of soaking time in deep cryogenic treatment on the tensile and impact properties of low-alloy medium-carbon HY-TUF steel was investigated in this study. Microstructural studies based on phase distribution mapping by electron backscatter diffraction show that the deep cryogenic process causes a decrease in the content of retained austenite and an increase in the volume fraction of η-carbide with increasing soaking time up to 48 h. The decrease in the content of retained austenite from ~1.23vol% to 0.48vol% suggests an isothermal martensitic transformation at 77 K. The η-type precipitates formed in deep cryogenic-treated martensite over 48 h have the Hirotsu and Nagakura orientation relation with the martensitic matrix. Furthermore, a high coherency between η-carbide and the martensitic matrix is observed by high-resolution transmission electron microscopy. The variations in macrohardness, yield strength, ultimate tensile strength, and ductility with soaking time in the deep cryogenic process show a peak/plateau trend.

Abstract:

Road extraction from the satellite images can be used in producing road maps as well as managing and developing geospatial databases. In this work, the extraction of roads from SPOT satellite images using artificial neural network has been studied. Then the location of tunnel is extracted from image using digital elevation information. Also it is tried to enhance the precision of the road extraction method using spectral information as well as texture and morphology. The method was implemented on SPOT satellite images of Tabrizand Miyaneh (Iran). The results of this research indicate that it would be possible to promote the precision of road extraction by using texture and morphology in image classifycation using neural networks. Finally the location of tunnel was extracted by digital elevation information. Junctions of roads and mountains have high potential in locating the tunnel. For this reason, in this study, the junctions of roads and mountains were also detected and used.

Abstract: This study is done with the purpose of investigation the level of burnout andinfluencing factors on it. The method used is measuring or filed-finding,descriptive studies type and the statistic society is made of the entire officialand non-official workers in the petrochemical industries national company inthe year (2009) including 6901people in the main office and 12 subsidiarycompanies who are working. The estimation of the sample volume is madeusing the cochran formula by the volume of 1742 people and the accidentalclass and the domesticated form of the Maslach Burn Out Inventory has beenused for gathering the dependant variant data of the study. In this study therelevance or effect of 20 independent variables on the burnout and itsconstituents was investigated. In the two variable tests, the emotionalcommitment had a reverse relation with burnout. So that with the increase ofthe interest and bind of the workers to the organization, the level of burnoutdecreased. In analyzing the step by step regression of the burnout accordingto the expected variables, 41percent of the explained burnout (R 2 =41%),and ranking the amount of the standard coefficient, the main elements likethe nature of the job, emotional commitment, work environment, job security,coworkers, education, job type, salary and the premium and jobindependence in the remaining regression equation and on the burnoutvariable have been influencing.
