STUDI ANALISIS RAPID APLICATION DEVELOPMENT SEBAGAI SALAH SATU ALTERNATIF METODE PENGEMBANGAN PERANGKAT LUNAK

Abstract: Rapid Application Development is one of the alternatives of System Development Life Cycle which is lately used to cope with the "slowness" of the conventional method. The Strength of using this method is the speed, accuracy and relatively lower cost than the conventional method. Moreover, the user's needs can be fulfilled well by involving the user in the design process. As a result, the user's satisfaction will increase. However, there are several things that should be considered in using the Rapid Application Development such as the team's preparation, the system territory, user's needs, and system operation. Finally, as one of the alternatives of System Development Life Cycle, Rapid Application Development can be used as the fundamental to produce an information system which is able to fulfill the user's needs. Abstract in Bahasa Indonesia : Rapid Application Development (RAD) sebagai salah satu alternatif dari System Development Life Cycle belakangan ini seringkali digunakan untuk mengatasi keterlambatan yang terjadi apabila menggunakan metode konvensional. Adapun keunggulan yang bisa didapatkan dengan menggunakan metode ini adalah kecepatan, ketepatan, dan biaya yang relatif lebih rendah dibanding dengan metode konvensional. Di samping itu dengan melibatkan user pada proses desain menyebabkan kebutuhan user dapat terpenuhi dengan baik dan secara otomatis kepuasan user sebagai pengguna sistem semakin meningkat. Akan tetapi di dalam menggunakan metode Rapid Aplication Development perlu untuk memperhatikan hal-hal yang penting, terutama kesiapan tim, ruang lingkup sistem, kebutuhan user, dan kinerja sistem. Pada akhirnya, sebagai salah satu alternatif dari System Development Life Cycle, maka Rapid Aplication Development dapat dijadikan acuan untuk menghasilkan sistem informasi yang dapat memenuhi kebutuhan user. Kata kunci: Rapid Application Development (RAD), System Development life Cycle (SDLC).
PERENCANAAN DAN PEMBUATAN PERANGKAT LUNAK UNTUK MEREDUKSI DESKRIPSI LINGUISTIK DALAM RULE FUZZY

Abstract: In every application that uses fuzzy system, there is always some numerical data which come from the fuzzy system itself. Those data called the fuzzy rule are useful to determine the fuzzy term from each fuzzy variable. Generally, the numbers of fuzzy rule are almost unlimited. Since the fuzzy rule consists of the numerical data, it will be difficult to interpret the fuzzy rule. Hence, linguistic description is required to interpret the rule. Linguistic description can be defined as the process of changing from numerical data to alphabetical letters that enable the system maker to understand the rule. However, even though the rule has become the linguistic description, the numbers of rules are still huge. Consequently, the difficulty in interpreting the rule will still happen for the next fuzzy process. Eventually, certain method is demanded to turn the process become more simple. The process of producing this program is aimed to give the reader some ideas of how to turn the linguistic description on fuzzy rule to become more simple. Generally, the program will produce the process of interpreting the linguistic description and turn them by using two choices of algorithms afterward. The result of this program will be in the form of table that contains the linguistic description already been turned to be more simple. Abstract in Bahasa Indonesia : Pada setiap aplikasi yang menggunakan suatu sistem Fuzzy, selalu terdapat data-data numerik yang berasal dari sistem tersebut untuk menentukan fuzzy set dari masing-masing variabel fuzzy. Data-data numerik ini seringkali disebut sebagai rule fuzzy. Jumlah dari rule fuzzy ini biasanya sangat banyak. Karena rule-rule tersebut berupa data numerik maka sulit sekali untuk proses pembacaannya. Untuk itulah diperlukan deskripsi linguistik untuk masing-masing rule tersebut. Deskripsi linguistik yang dimaksud adalah proses perubahan dari data-data numerik menjadi deretan huruf alphabet yang dapat dengan mudah dimengerti oleh pembuat sistem. Walaupun sudah diterjemahkan menjadi deskripsi linguistik, tetaplah jumlahnya sangat banyak, sehingga hal ini akan menyebabkan kesulitan di dalam mengolah data-data yang banyak tersebut pada proses fuzzy selanjutnya. Untuk itulah diperlukan suatu cara untuk mereduksi deskripsi linguistik tersebut supaya menjadi lebih sederhana. Dengan demikian maka dapat mempermudah proses selanjutnya. Pembuatan program ini ditujukan untuk membantu dalam mereduksi deskripsi linguistik pada rule fuzzy, sehingga menjadi lebih sederhana. STUDENTS' STRATEGIES FOR TAKING CLASSROOM TESTS

Abstract: A good test-taker is always prepared for the test. He knows what to do before, during and after the test. The study under report aimed at exploring students' strategies for taking classroom tests. A set of structured questionnaire was distributed to thirty-six students of an English Department in Surabaya Indonesia. Likert scales were used to measure the students' test-taking strategies. The students' responses were then analyzed to know how well the students used test-taking strategies. The study reveals that in general the students of the English Department are not always well prepared for classroom tests.

Abstract: This study explored the characteristics of the rhetorical discourse employed by Javanese legislative vote getters in the 2004 campaign in their efforts to win public support for their candidates. The data of the study were the discourses written by Javanese legislative vote getters of Indonesian political parties. The study reveals that (1) the discourses were marked by the use of Javanese metaphorical form called "parikan", (2) various strategies, such as testimony technique, religious citations, and historical involvement were employed.
The Implementation of School-Based Management in Indonesia: Creating conflicts in regional levels

Abstract: School-Based Management (SBM) has become the most prominent feature of public school management systems in most countries around the world. In Indonesia, the Central Government established a Commission of National Education (Komisi Nasional Pendidikan) in February 2001 on the basis of Law 22/1999 by which education was decentralized. The Commission recommended the formation of school councils at the school level to improve quality of national education. The Government then embarked on the formation of school councils in Western Sumatera, Eastern Java, and Bali. On the basis of these trials, the councils were considered strategic in promoting democratic principles in schools, creating higher levels of parental participation in school governance, and improving the quality of national education. Forthese reasons, in 2002 and 2004, the Government provided a set of guidelines to establish mandatory corporate governing body type school councils in accordance with the Law 22/1999, the Commission andEducation Act 20/2003. With the turn of the 21st Century, all Indonesian public schools have implemented SBM. This paper reports how the implementation of SBM in Indonesia has created conflicts in regional levels, particularly between the regional governments and school stakeholders.
SELECTIVITY OF Decapterus macarelus (SCAD) DRIFT GILLNET IN KAYELI BAY MALUKU BY KITAHARA’S METHOD

Abstract: To study the gear selectivity on scad Decapterus macarelus fishing experiments using drift gill net withdifferents mesh sizes were conducted in Kayeli Bay Buru Island Maluku. To obtain data of fork length sizecomposition, drift gillnets were operated at fish agregation devices along night time. The selectivity of driftgillnets for scad were estimated with Kitahara’s method. Mesh selectivity by a drift gillnet used for scadDecapterus macarelus shows a peaked curved with the efficiency at the peak of mesh selectivity increasingin proportion to the mesh size. The optimum size selectivity (fishing efficiency) of scad are ratio of 185 mmfork length class and 38 mm mesh size, 225 mm and 45 mm mesh size, and 255 mm and 51 mm mesh size.

Abstract:

Information systems and information technology (IS/IT) play an important role in supporting the organization to conduct its business processes. The research was conducted at the University of Satya Christian Wacana (SWCU). Business processes in perceived walking SWCU are not optimal in using IS/IT in the organization. The planning process/IT has not been done in all business units and SWCU does not have an Executive Information System that can help in the decision making process. The process of strategic planning of information systems and information technology using The Open Group Architecture Framework (TOGAF) has compiled a few methods of strategic planning. The results obtained by the study of the needs of IS/IT in SWCU generating application portfolio will be implemented in the institution.

IMPLEMENTASI SISTEM PENGENALAN SUARA MENGGUNAKAN SAPI 5.1 DAN DELPHI 5

Abstract: Nowadays, speech recognition in computer application is not new topic. Speech recognition research is still in active area with purpose to get fast and accurate result. One of the famous speech recognition research is done by Microsoft Corporation which developed for Windows platform. Also Microsoft develop standard for speech recognition engine, namely SAPI (Speech Application Programming Interface) which now get into version 5.1. Using SAPI, programmer can implement speech recognition using any kind of speech recognition engine and also can change the engine without consider for changing the program code. In this paper, we implement speech recognition system using SAPI 5.1, Microsoft Speech Engine and Delphi 5 as programming language to create text application for English dictation. Abstract in Bahasa Indonesia : Sekarang ini pengenalan pembicaraan pada aplikasi komputer bukan merupakan hal yang baru. Banyak penelitian yang telah dan sedang dilakukan untuk mendapatkan pengenalan pembicaraan yang cepat dan akurat. Salah satu yang terkenal adalah penelitian yang dilakukan oleh Microsoft Corporation yang dikembangkan untuk sistem operasi Windows. Selain mengembangkan engine pengenalan pembicaraan, Microsoft juga mengembangkan standard untuk pengenalan pembicaraan yaitu SAPI (Speech Application Programming Interface) yang sekarang sudah mencapai versi 5.1. Dengan adanya SAPI memungkinkan pembuat aplikasi untuk mengimplementasikan sistem pengenalan pembicaraan dengan menggunakan engine sesuai yang diinginkan dan dapat mengganti penggunaan dari satu engine ke engine yang lain tanpa merubah aplikasi yang telah dibuat. Penelitian ini mengimplementasikan sistem pengenalan pembicaraan dengan menggunakan SAPI 5.1, Microsoft Speech Engine dan bahasa pemrograman Delphi 5 yang digunakan untuk melakukan diktasi berbahasa Inggris pada aplikasi berbasis teks. Abstract: Describe and match is a method in artificial intelligence, which used to recognize the existence of an object in a picture by matching the picture with a group of other picture as a reference. This research presents a system to recognize two-dimensional geometric structure through describe and match where the two-dimensional geometric structures which are used here are limited on circle, square, triangle, and line. Three problems, which we will discuss in this research, are Library Matching Problem, Describe and Transform Problem and Describe, Match and Transform Problem. Abstract in Bahasa Indonesia : Deskripsi dan pencocokan merupakan suatu metode dalam ilmu kecerdasan buatan, yang digunakan untuk mengenali keberadaan suatu objek dalam suatu gambar dengan mencocokkan gambar tersebut dengan sekumpulan gambar lain sebagai gambar acuan. Penelitian ini menyajikan suatu sistem yang dapat mengenali bentuk bangun geometris dua dimensi dengan cara deskripsi dan pencocokan (describe and match) dimana bangun geometris dua dimensi yang digunakan di sini dibatasi untuk bentuk lingkaran, segiempat, segitiga, dan garis. Tiga bentuk permasalahan yang akan dibahas dalam penelitian ini yaitu Library Matching Problem, Describe and Transform Problem serta Describe, Match and Transform Problem. STUDI ANALISA PELATIHAN JARINGAN SYARAF TIRUAN DENGAN DAN TANPA ALGORITMA GENETIKA

Abstract: Neural network as an information processor system which has some similarities with human brain, is lately used to solve general problems. Neural network has several characteristics based on : architecture, learning algorithm, and activation function. Genetic algorithm is a method to get an optimum function using genetic operations which is done to each individual in a population that is often called as chromosome. This way, to get a more optimum function is by colliding neural network and genetic algorithm. That is by doing a bias conversion and the weight to the neural network into a kind of individual form of genetic algorithm and the other way arround. Thus, a conclusion can be drawn about neural network learning method with or without genetic algorithm. Abstract in Bahasa Indonesia : Neural network sebagai suatu sistem pengolah informasi yang mempunyai kemiripan dengan jaringan otak manusia, belakangan ini sering digunakan untuk menyelesaikan suatu permasalahan. Neural network memiliki beberapa karakteristik yang ditentukan oleh : arsitektur, algoritma pelatihan serta fungsi aktivasi. Algoritma genetika adalah suatu metode untuk mendapatkan suatu fungsi yang optimal dengan menggunakan operasi-operasi genetika yang dilakukan pada tiap-tiap individu yang terdapat dalam suatu populasi yang seringkali disebut sebagai kromosom. Dalam hal ini untuk mendapatkan kemungkinan suatu fungsi bisa lebih optimal adalah dengan menggabungkan antara neural network dengan algoritma genetika. Adapun caranya adalah dengan melakukan proses konversi bias dan bobot pada neural network ke dalam bentuk individu pada algoritma genetika dan demikian sebaliknya. Sehingga nantinya bisa didapatkan suatu kesimpulan antara metode pelatihan neural network dengan dan tanpa menggunakan algoritma genetika.
