Abstract: this paper discusses briefly the meaning of fidel castro?s visit to chile in november 1971; it intends as well to present a reflection on both the political strategies shown by fidel during his stay in chile and its consequence for the process known as "the chilean experience". it takes us to assume that if all confrontation that occurred in chile late on cannot be attributed to this visit, neither can fidel be considered completely free from responsibility for it. this visit to allende?s chile was uncommon, different from all diplomatic patterns; it resulted in a silent and deep political dispute in the latin-american left, which remained unknown for much time.

Abstract: this paper discusses the meaning of the 14 years of the partido radical government that followed the popular front triumph in chile in 1938. in this period, chile was able to combine economic growth and representative demovracy and to achive an expressive degree of modernization when it was creatd a new conexion among economy, politics and social relations. the period is characterized as a specific kind of passive revolution, responsible for the capitalist order actualization in the country.

Abstract: O texto analisa sinteticamente o processo de transi o à democracia no Chile e observa de que forma os elementos centrais desse processo apareceram no recente processo eleitoral vivido por aquele país. Por meio desse enfoque, analisa as condi es que estiveram presentes na primeira elei o presidencial em dois turnos que se realizou no Chile, bem como as características e limites das duas principais candidaturas: Ricardo Lagos e Joaquín Lavín. Palavras-chave: Chile. Democracia. Esquerda. Direita. Partidos. The text analyses synthetically the transition process towards democracy in Chile and observes how the central elements of this process appeared in the Chilean recent elections. Through this approach, it also analyses the conditions present in the first presidential election in two phases realized in Chile as well as the characteristics and limits of the two main candidatures: Ricardo Lagos and Joaquín Lavín. Abstract: the growing importance of the uses of digital tools and devices related to the internet by candidates, parties and political campaign's crews in almost twenty years of the online campaign's existence produced emblematic cases like the election of barack obama in 2008. this paper organizes the major questions, discussions and contributions of the online campaign's literature. the whole work here is designed to organize, in a chronological manner, the advances of the preoccupations related to the use of the internet by candidates and political parties. in the same way, we bring in to the light the dynamic of changes in the treatments of the questions and the potential of the new technologies in the electoral contests. our results indicate that the literature changes the main focus of the preoccupations, discussions and de design of the empirical researches along the years, beginning with the interactivity potentials of the internet as well as the importance of the unmediated political information until reaching the actual phase of the online campaigns that emphasizes the engagement and mobilization potentials of the digital communications in line with the web 2.0 principles.
