New record of the King Vulture Sarcoramphus papa (Aves, Cathartiformes) in Santa Catarina State, Brazil, and considerations about its conservation status

Abstract: The King Vulture Sarcoramphus papa occurs from Mexico to Uruguay, in northern Argentina, and throughout Brazil where it is more frequent in the northern region. The species is rare in Santa Catarina State, with 11 known records. This work reports a recent record of the King Vulture in the Doutor Pedrinho municipality in Santa Catarina State, and contributes to the knowledge about the conservation status and ocurrence of this bird in southern Brazil.

Abstract: Ornithological knowledge in Santa Catarina has improved considerably in recent decades, and new records and rediscoveries of bird species known only by historical data have been made. As a result of field research, we present herein the first records and locations of the Bare-faced Ibis Phimosus infuscatus, Gray-bellied Hawk Accipiter poliogaster, Yellow-breasted Crake Porzana flaviventer, Creamy-bellied Gnatcatcher Polioptila lactea and White-barred Piculet Picumnus cirratus in Santa Catarina State.
Occurence of owls (Birds: Strigiformes) in the RPPN Bugerkopf reserve in Blumenau, Santa Catarina

Abstract: The order Strigiformes is a poorly known group in Brazil, especially in Santa Catarina, and basic surveys of owls in the Atlantic Forests are scarce. The aim of this study was to inventory the owls of RPPN Bugerkopf, a private reserve in Blumenau, Santa Catarina. The study was conducted between February 2005 and May 2006. Fieldwork was carried out during monthly visits, for two to three nights when there was a crescent or full moon, between the hours of 18:00 and 23:00. In a total of 69 study hours, the following species were observed: Tyto alba, Megascops choliba, Megascops sanctaecatarinae, Glaucidium minutissimum, Pulsatrix koeniswaldiana and Asio stygius. The species most frequently detected was G. minutissimum, while M. choliba and P. koeniswaldiana were recorded the least.

Holomorphic extension of decomposable distributions from a CR submanifold of $\mathbb C^L$

Abstract: Given $N$ a non generic smooth CR submanifold of $\C^L$, $N=\{(\n,h(\n))\}$ where $\n$ is generic in $\C^{L-n}$ and $h$ is a CR map from $\n$ into $\C^n$. We prove, using only elementary tools, that if $h$ is decomposable at $p'\in \n$ then any decomposable CR distribution on $N$ at $p=(p',h(p'))$ extends holomorphically to a complex transversal wedge. This gives an elementary proof of the well known equivalent for totally real non generic submanifolds, i.e if $N$ is a smooth totally real submanifold of $\C^L$ any continuous function on $N$ admits a holomorphic extension to a complex transverse wedge

Abstract: We give a holomorphic extension result from non generic CR submanifold of $\C^L$ of positive CR dimension. We consider $N$ a non generic CR submanifold given by $N=\{\n,h(\n)\}$ where $\n$ is a generic submanifold of some $\C^{\ell}$ and $h$ is a CR map from $\n$ into $\C^n$. We prove that if $\n$ is a hypersurface then any CR distribution on $N$ extends holomorphically to a complex transversal wedge, we then generalize this result for arbitrary $\n$ in the case where the graphing function $h$ is decomposable at some $p'\in \n$. We show that any CR distribution on $N$ that is decomposable at $p=(p',h(p'))$ extends holomorphically to a complex transversal wedge.
Conformal Transformation Properties of the B-type Supercurrent

Abstract: We investigate the superconformal transformation properties of the supercurrent as well as of the superconformal anomalies themselves in d=4, N=1 supersymmetric quantum field theory. Matter supercurrent and anomalies are coupled to a classical background of minimal supergravity fields. On flat superspace, there exist two different types of the superconformal Ward identity (called S and B) which correspond to the flat space limits of old resp. new minimal background supergravity fields. In the present publication we give particular importance to the new minimal case. A general formalism is set up which is then applied to the massless Wess-Zumino model.
