Abstract:
The root of Rotula aquatica is also called as pashanbed, belonging to the family Borogenaceae. It is widely distributed in India from kumaun to Assam and western to southern India.The medicinal values of plant lie in their component phytochemicals such as alkaloids, flavonoids, phenolic compounds and other nutrients like as amino acid, proteins, which produce a definite physiological action on the human body. The proximate values such as moisture content, ash value, extractive value, were carried out. The dried roots powder was subjected to successive extraction with different solvents like petroleum ether, benzene, chloroform, methanol, ethanol and water. Macroscopic as well as microscopic studies of any crude drug are the primary steps to establish its botanical quality control before going to other studies. Hence Standardization of crude drug plays a very important role in identifying the purity and quality of crude drugs. The present investigation reveals Standardization which include Moisture Content, Total ash, Acid insoluble ash, Water soluble ash, Water soluble Extractive value, Alcohol soluble Extractive value, Phytochemical screening, and further isolation and identification of Phytoconstituents.

Abstract:
The plant named Cynodon dactylon belonging to family Poaceae and it is also known as Durva grass, Bermuda grass, Indian Doab, Dhub, and Durba was collected from Paonta Sahib Himachal Pradesh, India in month of May. The plant material was processed for extract. Air-dried and Coarsely powdered plant was extracted for 7 days with Pet. ether, methanol, and water by using maceration method. The phytochemical tests were done to find the presence of the active chemical constituents such as alkaloids, glycosides, terpenoides, Steroids, saponins, flavonoids, tannins, carbohydrates, proteins and fixed oils. Standardization of Cynodon dactylon was carried out to check the extractive value, loss on drying, ash value etc. Anthelmintic activity was evaluated on adult Indian earthworm phertima posthuma by using albendazole as a standard drug. The aqueous extract of Cynodon dactylon shows anthelmintic activity as compared with the standard drug.

Abstract:
The Ford-Kac-Mazur formalism is used to study quantum transport in (1) electronic and (2) harmonic oscillator systems connected to general reservoirs. It is shown that for non-interacting systems the method is easy to implement and is used to obtain many exact results on electrical and thermal transport in one-dimensional disordered wires. Some of these have earlier been obtained using nonequilibrium Green function methods. We examine the role that reservoirs and contacts can have on determining the transport properties of a wire and find several interesting effects.

Abstract:
We present a calculation of the lowest excited states of the Heisenberg ferromagnet in 1-d for any wave vector. These turn out to be string solutions of Bethe's equations with a macroscopic number of particles in them. These are identified as generalized quantum Bloch wall states, and a simple physical picture provided for the same.

Abstract:
We present the exact solution for a set of nonlinear algebraic equations $\frac{1}{z_l}= \pi d + \frac{2 d}{n} \sum_{m \neq l} \frac{1}{z_l-z_m}$. These were encountered by us in a recent study of the low energy spectrum of the Heisenberg ferromagnetic chain \cite{dhar}. These equations are low $d$ (density) ``degenerations'' of more complicated transcendental equation of Bethe's Ansatz for a ferromagnet, but are interesting in themselves. They generalize, through a single parameter, the equations of Stieltjes, $x_l = \sum_{m \neq l} 1/(x_l-x_m)$, familiar from Random Matrix theory. It is shown that the solutions of these set of equations is given by the zeros of generalized associated Laguerre polynomials. These zeros are interesting, since they provide one of the few known cases where the location is along a nontrivial curve in the complex plane that is determined in this work. Using a ``Green's function'' and a saddle point technique we determine the asymptotic distribution of zeros.

Abstract:
Integration of unpredictable renewable power sources into the Grid is leading to the development of wide area control algorithms and smart grid. Smart meters are the first step in the building a smart consumer interface. Much more, however, would be required in building a smart grid than just smart meters. This paper explores the conceptual architecture of smart grid. It highlights the need for additional infrastructure to realize full potential of smart grid. The information presented in this paper is an attempt to uncover what the future in smart grid could be and what infrastructure would be required to tap its potential. As smart grid evolves, more functionality would be built in the constituents. The paper also proposes mathematical basis for some of the controller algorithms.

Abstract:
Data collection represents the most effort-intensive stage of any marketing research exercise, especially
in cases sampling frame is unavailable. Sub-optimal bypasses in form of student surveys
or surveys employing convenience sampling have become common. In modern era, where laptops
and smartphones enable easy accessibility of respondents online, this study utilizes Facebook advertisement
as a source of data collection to measure the construct of user experience for interactive
products. Modern digital devices, like smartphones, are a source of a variety of experiences
for the user. Design teams at various smartphone manufacturers are struggling every day to
create products which provide complete consumer experiences. This work not only proposes a
framework for describing the same with usability, social value and pleasure in use, but also tests
the scales for each by empirical validation. Data collection process through Facebook, as a sample
frame, is something yet to be seen in marketing literature. This work goes the distance in not only
demonstrating the efficacy of using Facebook advertisement as a viable data collection tool but
also developing a framework to measure consumption value. Outcomes of the study, should promote
further research using this sampling frame for future research, especially in the area of marketing.

Abstract:
We study the equilibrium and dynamical properties of the ANNNI (axial next-nearest-neighbor Ising) chain at the multiphase point. An interesting property of the system is the macroscopic degeneracy of the ground state leading to finite zero-temperature entropy. In our equilibrium study we consider the effect of softening the spins. We show that the degeneracy of the ground state is lifted and there is a qualitative change in the low temperature behaviour of the system with a well defined low temperature peak of the specific heat that carries the thermodynamic ``weight'' of the ground state entropy. In our study of the dynamical properties, the stochastic Kawasaki dynamics is considered. The Fokker-Planck operator for the process corresponds to a quantum spin Hamiltonian similar to the Heisenberg ferromagnet but with constraints on allowed states. This leads to a number of differences in its properties which are obtained through exact numerical diagonalization, simulations and by obtaining various analytic bounds.

Abstract:
One of the major sources of trending news, events and opinion in the current age is micro blogging. Twitter, being one of them, is extensively used to mine data about public responses and event updates. This paper intends to propose methods to filter tweets to obtain the most accurately descriptive tweets, which communicates the content of the trend. It also potentially ranks the tweets according to relevance. The principle behind the ranking mechanism would be the assumed tendencies in the natural language used by the users. The mapping frequencies of occurrence of words and related hash tags is used to create a weighted score for each tweet in the sample space obtained from twitter on a particular trend.
