China and Sub-Saharan Africa’s Economic Development: A Multipolar Specification  [PDF]
Abdelrasaq Nal
Technology and Investment (TI) , 2015, DOI: 10.4236/ti.2015.63015
Abstract: Within the purview of contemporary international development discourse, China, alongside other regional powers are perceived as growth poles or drivers of global development. In the context of Africa’s development around which some of the emergent issues have been framed, analyses often proceed along a bilateral framework where the influence of China is isolated and assumed to be neither connected with nor shaped by the influences of other growth poles. Inspired by recent development in policy circles, this paper develops a multipolar framework to explain ways by which dimensions of possible interactions amongst activities of growth poles can affect development outcomes in other regions. It is then used to demonstrate how a nexus of Sino-EU activities has had limited impact on the development of Africa’s manufactured exports in comparison with similar nexus involving China and US.
THE IMPACT OF YEARS OF TEACHING EXPERIENCE ON THE CLASSROOM MANAGEMENT APPROACHES OF ELEMENTARY SCHOOL TEACHERS
Zafer ünal,Aslihan ünal
International Journal of Instruction , 2012,
Abstract: This study provided a basis for answering the following essential question: Does the years of experience affect teachers' classroom management approaches? Data were collected from 268 primary school teachers. The findings of this study demonstrated that experienced teachers are more likely to prefer to be in control in their classrooms than beginning teachers while interacting with students when making decisions. Investigating the previous studies, researchers were able to discover that there is certain path teachers follow through their career. While preservice teachers prefer non-interventionism (minimum teacher control), they support interactionism (shared control) during internship and early career years, and finally they prefer to choose complete teacher control when they become experienced teachers.
A case study on the perception of the school counselor by students and teachers
Ali ünal,Emine ünal
International Journal of Human Sciences , 2010,
Abstract: The aim of this research is to determine the perception of the school counsellor of the school by teachers working at a formal general high school and students, via metaphors. In the research, one of the case study patterns, an embedded single-case design was used. Study group of the research consists of 89 students studying at eleventh grade at a high school in Sel uklu district in 2007-2008 academic years, of Konya and 25 teachers working at this school. Data were collected by open ended survey method. In the survey, participants were asked to complete the sentence "School Counselor is like ... because ...". Data were analysed using content analysis method. According to the findings, the school counselor is acting according to the guidance principles and he is devoted to his profession. While the students' remarks were about his professional characteristics, teachers' remarks were about his personal characteristics.
Replacement of Process Scale Chromatography by Counterflow Membrane Cascades  [PDF]
Edwin N. Lightfoot, Bar?? ünal
Advances in Bioscience and Biotechnology (ABB) , 2014, DOI: 10.4236/abb.2014.511106
Abstract: Invention and innovation, always important, become ever more so in these fast changing and competitive times. They are in addition primarily dependent upon the dynamic behavior of the human mind. Our underlying purpose here is to examine these creative processes and to provide means to make them more effective. This is a timely effort because our understanding of perception and its interpretation by the human brain is very rapidly advancing. Even experimental insights into mental activity can be determined with rapidly increasing effectiveness. The framework of our discussion is that of evolution dynamics, and the scientific bases are rapidly developing neural sciences. However the bulk of our discussion deals with a specific example: the replacement of process scale chromatography by membrane-mediated steady counterflow in downstream processing. We do this because inventive activities must depend upon intimate knowledge of the systems available.
Spectrophotometric and spectrofluorimetric determination of some drugs containing secondary amino group in bulk drug and dosage forms via derivatization with 7-Chloro-4-Nitrobenzofurazon
nal, Armaan;
Química Nova , 2011, DOI: 10.1590/S0100-40422011000400021
Abstract: sensitive and selective spectrophotometric and spectrofluorimetric methods have been developed for determination of some drugs such as pramipexole, nebivolol, carvedilol, and eletriptan, which commonly contain secondary amino group. the subject methods were developed via derivatization of the secondary amino groups with 7-chloro-4-nitrobenzofurazon in borate buffer where a yellow colored reaction product was obtained and measured spectrophotometrically or spectrofluorimetrically. concentration ranges were found as 2.0 to 250 μg ml-1 and 0.1 to 3.0 μg ml-1, for spectrophotometric and spectrofluorimetric study, respectively. the described methods can be easily applied by the quality control laboratories in routine analyses of these drugs in pharmaceutical preparations.

The Discursive Suppression of Women: Female Evils as the Villains of the Motherhood Narrative
Leyla ?nal
Folklore : Electronic Journal of Folklore , 2011,
Abstract: This article focuses on the discursive construction and control of female sexuality and sexual activity, which simultaneously lead to the definition of women as inherently evil and to their suppression. This process is reinforced through a “motherhood narrative” inaugurated by a number of discourses, wherein female evils play the role of the villains, either as evil women or as anthropomorphised female beings that harm the mother or the unborn/newborn baby. The role of the “female evil”, a universally occurring archetypal motif, is to steal, kill or harm the child or the mother during pregnancy, labour, or puerperium. This motif is taken into account particularly in the framework of discourses that can be termed as medico-religious. Case studies of female evils are given as examples in the article, with a focus on the motherhood narrative and medico-religious discourses. This focus provides an insight to the way in which female evils pertain to the suppression of women within a more general framework. Female evils appear as necessary constructs of the aforementioned discourses to be able to control female sexual activity and the motherhood related fears of women, especially through the internalisation of control and through shaping the relationship of women with other women.

[English abstract]The purpose of this research was to investigate the information needs and information seeking behaviour of working journalists in Turkey. It investigated characteristics, information needs, interests, sources and purposes, libraries used and services required by 217 journalists in 31 national Turkish daily newspapers, during the period among January 2007 and June 2008 by means of a conducted survey. Journalists have a need for large volumes of very current and authoritative information, and they felt urged to ask the required information very quickly. Throughout the time it seems that shifts in newspaper coverage, the changing economic conditions, and the information flood provided through the new information technologies altered journalists' information requirements and information seeking behaviour. Considered as well were the barriers against meeting information needs in libraries and archives — in terms of time, resources, education, access and information overload. Conclusively, several recommendations are made for improving the existing situation. Future developments involving the library as an intermediary between electronic networks and the newspaper organization offer promises for in-house system designers to reach solutions to problems of accessibility and ease of use.

Strenae : Recherches sur les Livres et Objets Culturels de l'Enfance , 2012,
Abstract: Et si l’enfance était notre patrie commune ?
