Abstract: recently, phonon propagation through atomic structures has become a relevant study issue. the most important applications arise in the thermal field, since phonons can carry thermal and acoustic energy. it is expected that technological advances will make possible the engineering of thermal paths according to convenience. a simple phonon multiplexer was analyzed as a spring-mass model. it consists of mono-atomic chains of atoms with a coupling structure between them. forces between atoms follow hooke's law and are restricted to be first nearest neighbor interaction. it was possible to establish simple rules on constitutive parameters such as atom masses and bonding forces that enable one to select a wavelength of transmission. the method used enables the study of structures of much greater complexity than the one presented here.
Propagation of the information in a one-way quantum computer

Abstract: both linear momentum and poynting vector associated with the propagation of information in a one-way quantum computer are studied. it is found that, within the so-called mean field theory (mft) approximation the total energy, the linear momentum and the poynting vector associated with the propagation of information are invariant under arbitrary rotations of logical qubits. this means that propagation of the quantum information stored in the entangled state does not depend on the choice of the quantum gates. due that the involved cluster of neighboring particles is large enough, last property satisfies the scalability test. as a consequence, quantum information in the one-way computer is read, written and processed independently of this choice, which suggests a simple hardware for it. when an external magnetic field is switched on, the invariance under arbitrary rotations of the logic qubits of these quantities is lost, that is, the field induces a preferential direction of propagation of the information which at the same time is optimized while more intense be the field.

Se estudia tanto el momento lineal como el vector de Poynting asociados a la propagación de la información en una computadora cuántica de un solo camino. Se encuentra que dentro de la aproximación de la Teoría del campo medio la energía total, el momento lineal y el vector de Poynting asociados a la propagación de la información son invariantes bajo rotaciones arbitrarias de qubits lógicos. Esto significa que la propagación de la información almacenada en el estado enredado no depende de la elección para las compuertas cuánticas. Debido a que el cúmulo involucrado de partículas vecinas es suficientemente grande, la anterior propiedad satisface la prueba de escalabilidad. Como consecuencia de lo anterior, la información cuántica en la computadora de un solo camino es leída, escrita y procesada independientemente de tal elección lo cual sugiere un hardware simple para ella. Cuando se enciende un campo electromagnético externo, la invariancia del momento lineal y del vector de Poynting bajo rotaciones arbitrarias de los qubits lógicos se pierde, esto es, el campo induce una dirección preferente de propagación de la información la cual a la vez esta última es optimizada mientras más intenso sea el campo.

Cosmological/Black-Hole Unified Theory as a Constrained System

Abstract: Using a Lagrangian formalism we unify the cosmology and black-hole concepts. Specifically, we identify these two physical scenarios as part of a 2-dimensional metric, which arises from a Lagrangian (with constraints) derived from the Einstein-Hilbert action. In particular, we show that the Friedman-Robertson-Walker cosmological model and the Schwarzschild black-hole solution are both a consequence of a such Lagrangian.

Abstract: The importance of storm frequency as well as the groundwater and hyporheic inputs on nitrate (NO3-N) and ammonium (NH4-N) levels in stream water were studied in a small perennial Mediterranean catchment, Riera Major, in northeast Spain. NO3-N concentrations ranged from 0.15 to 1.9 mg l-1. Discharge explained 47% of the annual NO3-N concentration variance, but this percentage increased to 97% when single floods were analysed. The rate of change in nitrate concentration with respect to flow, ΔNO3-N/ΔQ, ranged widely from 0 to 20 μg NO3-N s l-2. The ΔNO3-N/ΔQ values fitted to a non linear model with respect to the storm flow magnitude (ΔQ) (r2=0.48, d.f.=22, P<0.01). High values of ΔNO3-N/ΔQ occurred at intermediate ΔQ values, whereas low ΔNO3-N/ΔQ values occurred during severe storms (ΔQ > 400 l s-1). N3-N concentrations exhibit anticlockwise hysteresis patterns with changing flow and the patterns observed for autumnal and winter storms indicated that groundwater was the main N3-N source for stream and hyporheic water. At baseflow, NO3-N concentration in groundwater was higher (t=4.75, d.f.=29, P>0.001) and co-varied with concentrations in the stream (r=0.91, d.f.=28, P<0.001). In contrast, NO3-N concentration in hyporheic water was identical to that in stream water. The role of the hyporheic zone as source or sink for ammonium was studied hyporheic was studied comparing its concentrations in stream and hyporheic zone before and after a major storm occurred in October 1994 that removed particulate organic matter stored in sediments. Results showed high ammonium concentrations (75±28 s.d. μg NH4-N l-1) before the storm flow in the hyporheic zone. After the storm, the ammonium concentration in the hyporheic dropped by 80% (13.6±8 μg N4-N l-1) and approached to the level found in stream water (11±8 μg NH4-N l-1) indicating that indisturbed hyporheic sediments act as a source for ammonium. After the storm, the ammonium concentrations in the stream, hyporheic and groundwater zones were very similar suggesting that stream ammonium concentrations are sustained mainly by input from groundwater. The present study provides evidence that storm flow magnitude is an important source of variability of nitrate concentration and fluxes in Mediterranean streams subjected to an irregular precipitation regime with prolonged dry periods. MYCOSYNTHESIS OF SILVER NANOPARTICLES AND ANTIBACTERAL EFFECTS IN WOUND DRESSING

Abstract: Bionanotechnology has emerged up as integration between biotechnology and nanotechnology for developing biosynthetic and environmental friendly technology for synthesis of nano materials. Silver has been known to have effective bactericidal properties for centuries. Nowadays, silver based topical dressings have been widely used as a treatment for infection in burns, open wounds, and chronic ulcer. As the pathogenic organisms are getting evolved day by day due to mutation and gaining antibiotic resistance, an important industrial sector of nanosciene deals with the preparation and study of nanoparticles in antibacterial clothings, burn ointments and coating for medical device. The size of nanomaterials is much smaller than that of most biological molecules and structures, therefore nanomaterials can be useful in both in vivo and in vitro biomedical research application. The purpose of the study is to synthesis and characterizes the fungal silver nanoparticles using F.oxysporum. Further investigation of the shape and size of fungal nanoparticle was done by X-ray diffraction and Scanning electron microscopic studies. A silver nanoparticle at different concentration was assessed for its antibacterial effect, against various bacteria.Further Silver based topical dressing incorporated with fungal nanoparticle was prepared and integrated into cotton band aid gauze. This study revealed the enhancement of the synthesis of silver nanoparticles by the reduction of aqueous silver ions by simultaneous release of extracellular metabolites from the culture of F. oxysporum. It also focuses on the potential application of silver nanoparticles in the medical field as a topical dressing against various wound pathogens.

Abstract: oral and dental histology, embryology and anatomy are disciplines included in the morphological sciences which knowledge allows to understand physiology and pathology. on the other hand, the methodological changes resulting from universal access to information and communication enabled by internet and the use of information technology and communication have led to the emergence of a new paradigm of education. from this new paradigm our goal was to develop within the virtual histology project the odontoweb virtual site aimed at students of health sciences and especially those who attend the subject histology and embryology, faculty of dentistry, national university of cordoba, argentina. in the home page odontoweb, the information (images, study guides, identification of images and slogans to find literature) is organized as follows: 1 - tissue 2- coordination systems 3-systems responsible for transportation and defense, 4 - systems responsible for nutrition, respiratory and urinary. we believe that the internet applied to education, largely meets the needs of information, both in contents and methods and resources, allowing understanding that the greatest value of this network for education, is to be a system of dissemination of knowledge and a space to meet and collaborate, indispensable in the educational process.
Cosecha temprana, apertura forzada y vida en el vaso de flores de cuatro variedades de clavel (Dianthus cariophyllus L.), en invierno y en verano

Abstract: early harvest and forced flower opening with sucrose addition in the preservative solution effects were evaluated during winter and summer, in moresco, mabel, nov and golden odino carnation varieties. the flowers were harvested at five dif ferent stages of development: from tight flower buds to open flowers (state 0 to 4). immediately, these were hydrated during 24 h using a silver thiosulfate solution (0,1 m) at 2 oc. then, the flowers were treated with a preservative solution containing citric acid (500 mg l-1) and hydroxyquinoline citrate (60 mg l-1), with and without sucrose (100 g l-1). petal color, vase life and flower size were evaluated when the full open flower stage was obtained. the flower size was similar during winter and summer in moresco, nov and golden odino, but the vase life was significantly reduced in the summer. the sucrose addition allowed improving the flower size and the petal color in all the stages of development evaluated. the best flower quality was obtained by combining sucrose addition with the flowers harvested in the stages 2 and 3 in the winter and 0 and 1 in the summer.
