Abstract: The present article analyze the logic of the identity ins/constitution and perception of affirmative action of 19 university students self-declared indigenous on Federal University of Pará. This "other" ethnic belonging set in a varied statement of be indigenous conditioned in issues genealogic, symbolic and territorial, that brings consequences in the reference indigenous population in Brazil and the politico-anthropological recognition of identity. The transition of the axis of identity to the indigenous rights, mediated by affirmative action, has shown effects on account of be indigenous that came into the relation of alterity to the "other" covered by quotas, such complex which makes the connection between identity construction and affirmative action a conditional need on social and political aspects.RESUMO: O presente artigo analisa a lógica da ins/constitui o identitária e percep o sobre a es afirmativas de 19 estudantes universitários autodeclarados indígenas vinculados a Universidade Federal do Pará.

Abstract: the present work was carried out in the ferreira penna scientific station, at the caxiuan? national forest in melga?o, pará, brazil (01o 42' 30" s; 51o 31'45" w; 60 m of altitude) in the easternamazonia. it is an upland forest area with closed vegetation, 35 m average canopy high, some emergent trees with 50 m high and species density between 450 and 550 plants per hectare. the objective was to compare the estimations of rainfall interception using two numerical models, for the period from march to december of 2004. the measured rainfall interception was 248 mm corresponding to 21.5% of total precipitation (1,153.4 mm) above canopy. the rainfall interception was simulated, by rutter's and gash's models, at good level of accuracy. the gash model overestimated the interception by 17.3% (42.8 mm), while the rutter model overestimated by only 0.5% (1.1 mm) of the observed interception.

Abstract: chain reaction of polimerase (pcr) and its variations such as the nested-pcr have been outstanding as promising molecular techniques for the fast diagnosis of the tuberculosis (tb). in the present study the nested-pcr was evaluated using as molecular markers the sequence is6110 and the antigen b applied to the diagnosis of tb. one hundred and thirty six clinical samples of patients with suspicion of tb were submitted to the baciloscopia, culture and nested-pcr. the diagnosis of pulmonary tuberculosis was attributed to 116 patients, of these, 97 were multi-bacilli and 111 presented positive culture for m. tuberculosis. the nested-pcr reactions identified 70% (antigen b) and 94% (is6110) of the acid-fast smear negative cases of tuberculosis. the sensibility values determined for culture, and nested-pcr of is6110 and antigen b were 95%, 98% and 86%, respectively. the specificity was 100%, 15% and 45% for culture, nested-pcr of is6110 and antigen b, respectively. the molecular diagnosis of the tuberculosis should be based in the combined analysis of several parameters, as the baciloscopia, culture, clinical manifestations, therapeutic proves and previous history of tuberculosis.

Abstract: soybean seeds, produced in some areas of brazil, have presented serious problems of physiological quality. this has been attributed to inadequate fittings of the harvesting system, climatic stress occurrence at maturation and stinkbug lesions, resulting in seed with low germination and vigor. the objective of this study was to evaluate the quality of soybean seeds produced in different areas and to identify the best edaphoclimatic regions for high quality seed production. during the 2001/2002 soybean crop, 364 samples, including different cultivars, were collected directly from the grain reservoir of the combine during harvesting in the states of parana, minas gerais, mato grosso do sul and mato grosso. the seeds were evaluated based on the following parameters: tetrazolium test (to estimate vigor, viability, field deterioration, mechanical damage and bug attack); germination (%), vigour (tz 1-3), viability (tz 1-5), oil, protein and acidity content. the results showed that the high levels of breakage, mechanical damage and tegument rupture which were associated with damage caused by moisture and sting bug, affected the quality of seeds produced in minas gerais, mato grosso do sul, north and the western regions of parana, when compared with seeds produced in the southern region of parana and mato grosso. in the states of mato grosso and south region of paraná there are regions with potential climatic for soybean seed production of high physiological quality. there are regions in the states of minas gerais, paraná and mato grosso that produce soybean seeds with high protein and oil content and with lower acidity contend.

Abstract: the objective of this research was to evaluate the influence of the removal in the pseudostem with elimination of the meristem apical of the rhizome and doses of nitrogen and boron, about the production and growth of banana suckers. the experiment was carried out at centro de forma??o de tecnólogos - ufpb, state of paraíba. the experimental design was in randomized blocks, with four replications and nine mother plants for experimental unit, being two useful plants. the evaluated valued factors were doses of n (0 to 240 g plant-1) and of b (0 to 240 g plant-1) combined in agreement with the experimental matrix ?central composite?, originating nine combinations, which were arranged factorially with suppression and without suppression of the pseudostem of the mother plant. the data were submitted the variance analysis and of regression. the suppression in the pseudostem of the mother plant with elimination of the apical meristem of the rhizome increased the sucker number, with larger growth, except of the diameter of the rhizome which it reduced. in the plants with suppression, it reduced the sucker number which presented smaller growth. on the other hand, it increased the content of total chlorophyll. for the production of ?pacovan? banana suckers, is recommended the suppression in the pseudostem of the mother plant with elimination of the meristem apical of the rhizome and the application of the n.
