Abstract: this study is part of a research project called "caring for children with physical disabilities in early childhood education: profile and teacher knowledge." the aim of this paper was to look at how children with physical disabilities are cared for within the context of early childhood education, focusing on how teachers view the importance of health professionals. this study adopted a qualitative approach using a case study methodology. the participants were eight teachers of children with physical disabilities, enrolled at a public early childhood education center in the city of natal-rn. data was collected using semi-structured interviews along with observations. the data were analyzed qualitatively based on two categories: caretaking of children with physical disabilities and the contribution of health professional within that context. the results showed that there is a need to include specific content in teacher education courses to enable them to learn how to deal with the particular aspects involving the care of children with physical disabilities, mainly those who have neurological sequella. the main aspects teachers should learn about include handling, transfer, assistance in locomotion, proper body positioning, etc. moreover, the teachers' reports showed how important health professionals participating in the professional team were, especially physiotherapists, because of the information and specific supervision such professionals can provide about the physical disability conditions each child presents. this kind of collaboration was deemed to be significant in promoting effective inclusion for these children in regular schools.

Abstract: the use of sewage sludge in agriculture as an organic fertilizer nowadays is the most promising alternative for final disposal of this residue due to its sustainability. the objective of this work was to evaluate production of physic nut (jatropha curcas l.) seedlings using a substrate containing cattle manure and different concentrations of biosolid, as sources of organic matter and nutrients and the treatment of the seeds with fungicide. the treated seeds received the fungicide moncerem? pm. all the polytubes contained 40% of cattle manure and the biosolid doses were 0, 10, 20, 30 and 40%, complemented with vermiculite. the variables evaluated were: emergence on the 14th day, plant height, stem diameter, dry weight of the aerial parts and root and the accumulation of the heavy metals cd, cr, pb and ni. the seed treatment had a negative effect on the emergence on the 14th day and consequently harmed the subsequent plant growth. generally, the substrate containing 10% of biosolid presented the best results of seedling growth. regarding the heavy metals, only ni was increasingly accumulated in the plant, as the biosolid doses increased in the substrate.

Abstract: Introduction: Epidemiologic researches about psychoactive substance use have shown an up-and-coming situation to abusive consumption of alcohol in adolescent and young-adult groups. This consumption over come the knowledge about damage caused by abusive of these substances, especially for the population part who is in the “top of life experiences”; the university students. Aim: To estimate the prevalence of the alcoholic ingestion and alcohol abuse in university students at Jequié-BA, and to verify the association between the alcoholic ingestion and alcohol abuse with the gender, race, smoking and graduation area. Methods: Prevalence study with probabilistic randomized sample (n = 129) of a population of 3,644 university students, registered in three universities. It was used a Questionnaire contends socio-demographic data, asking for the alcoholic ingestion and test CAGE to abuse. Results: It has been found prevalence of 63.6% to alcohol ingestion, 21.7% of high risk in abuse, and 8.5% of alcohol abuse. Although they have not been gotten association statistics between these variable and gender, race, graduation area and smoking; the data had demonstrated highest rates of alcohol abuse, and high risk in developing in students of masculine gender, medium brown race, who attend a graduation course in the health area. Those who have used of the tobacco had presented percentile greater of high risk in becoming alcohol consumer abusive. Conclusions: Intent for data found, as much alcohol ingestion as abuse, since they reflect the necessity of prevention politics to the alcoholic abusive ingestion in this population
O impacto da mobilidade de renda sobre o bem-estar econ?mico no Brasil
Figueiredo, Erik Alencar de;
Economia Aplicada , 2009, DOI: 10.1590/S1413-80502009000300007
Abstract: the study of figueiredo e ziegelmann (2007) showed that in brazil there was a gain in welfare related to increasing of income mobility. however, this results did not consider one of the side effects related to this phenomenon: the increase of uncertainty associated to the behavior of consumption. according to this approach, this study questions how desirable is the income mobility in brazil. it was used an index that separates the negative and positive effects related to mobility. the results showed, considering a coefficient of risk aversion, that an increase of income mobility will have positive effects only if the inequality parameter is superior to 2.95.
Donatus: uma interface amigável para o estudo da sintaxe formal utilizando a biblioteca em Python do NLTK

Abstract: this paper firstly aims at showing the usefulness of cfg and fcfg in the study of formal syntax. applying parsers based on these formalisms on the analysis of a corpus may reveal consequences from an approach which would otherwise pass by unnoticed. the natural language toolkit (nltk) comprises, among other facilities, generator tools for parsers in a variety of architectures. however, the non-trivial use of this library in automatic syntactic processing requires programming skills. in order to allow non-programmers access to parser implementation and testing, we developed donatus, a user-friendly graphical interface to nltk's parsing facilities with additional utilities that make it also useful to programmers. we explain the tool's functioning and demonstrate its relevance to formal syntactical investigation by means of a comparison between the computer implementations of two alternative approaches to adjectival modification in portuguese. the first approach, based on traditional x-bar theory, generated a great number of false ambiguities. this problem was avoided by a parser based on an approach within the minimalist program. without resorting to the computer, this difference between the two approaches would not be easily revealed.
Mobilidade intrageracional de renda no Brasil
Figueiredo, Erik Alencar de;
Nova Economia , 2010, DOI: 10.1590/S0103-63512010000300002
Abstract: the purpose of this study is to measure intragenerational income mobility in brazil and its several population subgroups within the period 1995-2005. to this end, the mobility axiomatic approach and dynamic instruments proposed by aebi et al. (1999) are considered. calculations of mobility indexes and the markov transaction matrix indicate that brazil presents low intragenerational income mobility, suggesting that its social structure is relatively rigid. also, important heterogeneities within each subgroup were observed, thus corroborating the intergenerational results indicated by ferreira and veloso (2006).
Altera??es nucleolares em algumas neuroviroses humanas
Alencar, Alexandre Alberto de;
Memórias do Instituto Oswaldo Cruz , 1973, DOI: 10.1590/S0074-02761973000200006
Abstract: in this paper we studied the classic and modern concepts concerning the structure, composition, origen and function of the nucleole particularly in relation to the neuronal cells. the materal of study consisted of a number of cases of human neuroviroses. a detailed description of the nuclear and nucleolar alterations verfied in the following diseases was made: dawson's subacute polioencephalitis, van bogaert′s sclerosing subacute leucoencephalitis, pette d?ring's subacute panencephalitis, acute anterior poliomyelitis and rabies. the nucleolar lesions found consisted of early hypertophy followed by deep changes in its internal structure with a shape of vacuoles and granular condensations (the so called nucleolines) varying in number and size. some of this deeply basophile granular corpuscles which show the same citochemical characteristics of the nucleoles are thrown in the charioplasma developing great spheroidal basophilic corpuscles. commentaries about the nature of the phenomenon were made. since such a finding is present only in virosis and in certain forms of intoxication and in genetic disturbances, its occurrence in an encephalitic of myelitic histopathologic pattern surely allows to admit its etiology as being due to a virus. from all the studied specimens the one which showed such nucleolar alterations mostly exuberant was the pette d?ring's nodular panencephalitis.
