Abstract: We give very general characterizations for uniform exponential dichotomy of variational difference equations. We propose a new method in the study of exponential dichotomy based on the convergence of some associated series of nonlinear trajectories. The obtained results are applied to difference equations and also to linear skew-product flows.

Abstract: We give new and very general characterizations for uniform exponential dichotomy of variational difference equations in terms of the admissibility of pairs of sequence spaces over ? with respect to an associated control system. We establish in the variational case the connections between the admissibility of certain pairs of sequence spaces over ? and the admissibility of the corresponding pairs of sequence spaces over ?. We apply our results to the study of the existence of exponential dichotomy of linear skew-product flows.
Exact Solution for an Anti-Plane Interface Crack between Two Dissimilar Magneto-Electro-Elastic Half-Spaces

Abstract: This paper investigated the fracture behaviour of a piezo-electro-magneto-elastic medium subjected to electro-magneto-mechanical loads. The bimaterial medium contains a crack which lies at interface and is parallel to their poling direction. Fourier transform technique is used to reduce the problem to three pairs of dual integral equations. These equations are solved exactly. The semipermeable crack-face magneto-electric boundary conditions are utilized. Field intensity factors of stress, electric displacement, magnetic induction, cracks displacement, electric and magnetic potentials, and the energy release rate are determined. The electric displacement and magnetic induction of crack interior are discussed. Obtained results indicate that the stress field and electric and magnetic fields near the crack tips exhibit square-root singularity. 1. Introduction Mechanics of magneto-electro-elastic solid has gained considerable interest in the recent decades with increasable wide application of piezoelectric/piezomagnetic composite materials in engineering, particularly in aerospace and automotive industries. Recently, much attention has been paid to dislocation crack and inclusion problems in magneto-electro-elastic solids, which simultaneously possess piezoelectric, piezomagnetic, and magnetoelectric effects. Therefore, it is of vital importance to investigate the magneto-electro-elastic fields as a result of existence of defects, such as cracks, in these solids. The mode III interface crack solution for two dissimilar half-planes has been analyzed by Li and Kardomateas [1] while for two dissimilar layers by Wang and Mai [2] and by Li and Wang [3]. Li and Kardomateas [1] solved corresponding plane problem by means of Stroh’s formalism and complex variable methods. Li and Wang [3] investigated the problems involving an antiplane shear crack perpendicular to and terminating at the interface of a bimaterial piezo-electro-elastic ceramics. Wang and Mai [2] investigated the mode III-crack problem for a crack at the interface between two dissimilar magneto-electro-elastic layers. Extension of those investigation problems interested in fracture theory, on dielectric and magnetostrictive crack behaviour, is very important, and results and conclusions could have applications in the failure of PEMO-elastic devices and in smart intelligent structures [4]. However, to the authors’ best knowledge, no researches dealing with the interface-dielectric crack in PEMO-elastic two-phase composite have been reported in literature. Abstract: This paper presents a new method of symmetric serpentine marking in constructing forest roads on the terrain itself. This method is based on surveying the elements needed for symmetric serpentine marking on forest roads and on estimating other elements and their marking. By using this method construction errors are reduced as well as the number of attempts of serpentine marking on the terrain itself. In the way, the effects of serpentine marking are increased compared to the ones reached by the method used so far.
Precise alpha_s from Tau Decays

Abstract: An updated measurement of alpha_s(m_tau) from ALEPH tau hadronic spectral functions is presented. We report a study of the perturbative prediction(s) showing that the fixed-order perturbation theory manifests convergence or principle problems not presented in the contour-improved calculation. Potential systematic effects from quark-hadron duality violations are estimated to be within the quoted systematic errors. The fit result is alpha_s(m_tau) = 0.344 +- 0.005 +- 0.007, where the first error is experimental and the second theoretical. After evolution, the alpha_s(M_Z) determined from tau data is one of the most precise to date, in agreement with the corresponding NNNLO value derived from Z decays.

Abstract: Within the economic space or within the social spacethe knowledge is essentially a dispersed one, and through it we must understanda practical knowledge peculiar to individual circumstances. Social knowledge isaccumulated in rules and such rules are not consciously articulated, but instead,their obedience is vital for the efficiency of our actions; moreover, such rulesare very difficult to remove or modify, even if, in a Cartesian manner, we fail indemonstrating their absolute truth. The fact that social sciences generate tacitknowledge represents a crucial element for the liberal political theory because itquestions and ultimately excludes the possibility to plan. In other words, theanalysis of the human behavior within the free market is not necessary arational one, the scale of rationality may be applied only in the case of governintromission (or of any planning authority) in the (tacit) knowledge flow. Therefusal to accept the mosaic structure of the social space represents the directeffect of the attempt to consciously (rationally) coordinate the social processitself under the form of various social and political engineering. Therefore, thedecentralized spontaneous processes express a form of rationality impossible tobe entirely encompassed in the conceptual language which could justify themechanisms of a control center. This thesis of human limited knowledge is anempirical reality or contingent regarding the human being, reality which can bemodified (altered) through technological evolution. It is more a philosophicalthesis concerning the shape in which the knowledge exists in the world and theway in which it becomes accessible to individuals.
