Black Hole in Binary System is the Source of Cosmic Gamma-Ray Bursts and Their Counterparts  [PDF]

Abstract: Discovery of GRB clusters allows us to determine coordinates and characteristics of their sources. The objects radiating GRBs are reliably identified with black hole binaries, including the Galactic binaries. One of the unusual GRB properties, which are determined by black hole, is revealed in that the measured arrival direction of GRB does not coincide with the real location of its source. Just this fact allows us to find the objects radiating GRBs. On the basis of the general relativity theory's effects, observed in the GRB clusters, the technique of the black hole masses measurement is developed. The calculated black hole masses for the majority of known Galactic BH binaries are presented. It is briefly shown how the incorrect interpretations of observational facts result in an erroneous idea of the GRB cosmological origin. In fact, two problems are solved in the paper: the GRB origin and the reality of BH existence.
Transborder corporate integration in the Baltic Sea Region

Abstract: The paper examines flows of foreign direct investment within the Baltic region. The author demonstrates close investment ties among the EU members, which are of special importance for Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania. Transborder corporate integration in the region is characterized by significant imbalances. In many aspects, it can be viewed as Sweden’s economic expansion or development of domestic markets for northern European companies. Although many German, Polish and Russian companies are involved in corporate integration in the Baltic region, other vectors of their foreign economic relations are still more important for them. As a result, the integration of Russian business in the Baltic part of the European integration area is still rather weak despite Russia’s considerable foreign direct investment in the Baltic States.
Gamma-ray bursts and black holes. Interpretation of the observational data

Abstract: The paper relies upon the (Kuznetsov 2000), where the cosmic gamma - ray bursts (GRBs) in clusters are shown to have an apparent shift relative to the position of the source. Hence the main conclusion follows: only cluster of GRBs ensures correct localization of the source whereas determining the direction of arrival of a single GRB practically carries no information about the position of its source. Generation of repeated GRBs in the activity phase of the source, which amounts to 3-4 months and with the period of repetition of activity equal to 4 years are most general properties of clusters. These properties precisely correspond to the characteristics of manifestation of activity of X-ray NOVAE (BHXN), thus pointing that the source of GRB clusters considered is a black hole (BH) in the XN. The direct identification of the GRB source with the BHXN GRO J0422+32 presented here this confirms. The investigated properties of GRB clusters permit a final solution of 2 main problems of astrophysics: search for black holes and origin of cosmic GRBs.
Cluster of Gamma-ray Bursts - Image of a Source. Catalog of Clusters (Sources) of Gamma-ray Bursts

Abstract: The clusters of gamma-ray bursts are considered which are assumed to be images of the repeated gamma-ray burst (GRB) sources. It is shown, that localization of the cosmic gamma-ray burst sources (GBS) is determined by the clusters of GRBs. About 100 candidates in sources are presented in the form of the catalog, which is compiled relying on the base of the BATSE data up to middle of 2000. Gamma-ray bursts (from 5 to 13) of a cluster that display a source do not coincide in their position. The catalog table containing basic information about the GRB sources yields the possibility to research the GBS properties and their identification. The birth of GRBs in the clusters allows predicting the appearance of GRBs both in time and space. Most general properties of the supposed GRB sources are discussed. An attempt to compile the first GRB source catalog is made.
Plasma induced fermion spin-flip conversion f_L -> f_R + gamma

Abstract: The fermion spin-flip conversion f_L -> f_R + gamma is considered, caused by the difference of the additional energies of the electroweak origin, acquired by left- and right-handed fermions (neutrino, electron) in medium. An accurate taking account of the fermion and photon dispersion in medium is performed. It is shown that the threshold arises in the process, caused by the photon (plasmon) effective mass. This threshold leaves no room for the so-called ``spin light of neutrino'' and ``spin light of electron'' in the real astrophysical situations.

Plasma induced neutrino spin-flip in a supernova and new bounds on the neutrino magnetic moment

Abstract: The neutrino chirality-flip process under the conditions of the supernova core is investigated in detail with the plasma polarization effects in the photon propagator taken into account in a more complete form than in earlier publications. It is shown in part that the contribution of the proton fraction of plasma is essential. New upper bounds on the neutrino magnetic moment are obtained: mu_nu < (0.5 - 1.1) 10^{-12} mu_B from the limit on the supernova core luminosity for nu_R emission, and mu_nu < (0.4 - 0.6) 10^{-12} mu_B from the limit on the averaged time of the left-handed neutrino washing out. The best upper bound on the neutrino magnetic moment from SN1987A is improved by the factor of 3 to 7.

Neutrino - electron processes in a strong magnetic field and plasma

Abstract: The total set of the neutrino - electron processes in a presence of both components of an active medium, hot dense plasma and strong magnetic field, is investigated for the first time. The contribution of the processes $\nu e^- \to \nu e^-$, $\nu e^+ \to \nu e^+$, $\nu \to \nu e^- e^+$, $\nu e^- e^+ \to \nu$ is shown to dominate and not to depend on the chemical potential of electron-positron gas. Relatively simple expressions for the probability and mean losses of the neutrino energy and momentum are obtained, which are suitable for a quantitative analysis.
Could Vector Leptoquarks be Rather Light?

Abstract: A possible Standard Model extension of the Pati-Salam type with a lepton number as the fourth color is reexamined. A new type of mixing in the interaction of the $SU(4)_V$--leptoquark with quarks and leptons is shown to be required. An additional arbitrariness of the mixing parameters could allow to decrease noticeably the lower bound on the leptoquark mass $M_X$ originated from the $\pi$ and $K$ decays and the $\mu e$ conversion. The only mixing independent bound emerging from the cosmological limit on the $\pi^0 \rightarrow \nu \bar{\nu}$ decay width is $M_X > 18~TeV$.
