ZMR modular system arthroplasty for correction of Putti's osteotomy in congenital inveterate hip dislocation
A. Fontana,M. Corbella
Journal of Orthopaedics and Traumatology , 2003, DOI: 10.1007/s101950300009
Abstract: We report the case of 76-year-old woman operated in 1952 for a congenital inveterate dislocation of the left hip with a Putti's osteotomy and then treated in our institute for revision with correction osteotomy and hip arthroplasty using the modular ZMR system. With this surgical operation, the normal anatomy of the hip was restored. In fact, the articulation was again in correspondence of the true acetabulum, the femoral axle was corrected and the length discrepancy of the limb was reduced. The arthroplasty has given a stable neo-articulation and the use of the modular ZMR femoral system permitted synthesis of the osteotomy without any additional osteosynthesis devices.
"Citoquinas: el lenguaje del diálogo materno-embrionario"
Vanina A. Fontana
DEARQ : Journal of Architecture , 2011,

Abstract: during difficult times such as these, when schools work more and more like firms, losing their human meaning, their merchandise, what type of teachers are we being? in this process of formation and in working relationships experienced, who are we being? who are we trying to become? how do we find ourselves? in this paper, in dialogue with vygotsky, bakhtin, politzer and with walter sales' film - central station - i approach these questions, not to answer them but to face them in the singular dramas experienced by ourselves with our other self, in social relationships of exclusion and solitude, of inequality and violence of imposed modernization and prejudice.

The physical properties and evolution of Lyalpha emitting galaxies
L. Pentericci,A. Grazian,A. Fontana
Physics , 2009, DOI: 10.1063/1.3141547
Abstract: A significant fraction of high redshift starburst galaxies presents strong Ly alpha emission. Understanding the nature of these galaxies is important to assess the role they played in the early Universe and to shed light on the relation between the narrow band selected Lyalpha emitters and the Lyman break galaxies: are the Lyalpha emitters a subset of the general LBG population? or do they represent the youngest galaxies in their early phases of formation? We studied a sample of UV continuum selected galaxies from z~2.5 to z~6 (U, B, V and i-dropouts) from the GOODS-South survey, that have been observed spectroscopically. Using the GOODS-MUSIC catalog we investigated their physical properties, such as total masses, ages, SFRs, extinction etc as determined from a spectrophotometric fit to the multi-wavelength (U band to mid-IR) SEDs, and their dependence on the emission line characteristics. In particular we determined the nature of the LBGs with Lyalpha in emission and compared them to the properties of narrow band selected Lyalpha emitters. For U and B-dropouts we also compared the properties of LBGs with and without the Lyalpha emission line.
Scalar perturbation in a black hole localized on a brane
Pavan, A. B.;Fontana, R. D. B.;
Brazilian Journal of Physics , 2005, DOI: 10.1590/S0103-97332005000700034
Abstract: in this work we study a scalar perturbation in a brane black hole with schwarzschild behavior, localized on the brane. this black hole solution was derived by casadio, fabbri and mazzacurati with the metric satisfying the condition r = 0, where r is the four-dimensional scalar curvature.
Macrosiphonia petraea: Variantes poblacionales con potencial decorativo
FONTANA, H,MASCARINI, A,FATTA, N
AbstractMacrosiphonia petraea grows on sandy loam soils, is perennial and its white flowers are vespertine. In a greenhouse test in pots carried out in Buenos Aires, behaviour in those conditions was evaluated, the existence of polymorphisms and attractive individuals were identified. Features considered were number of stalks, number of flowers and days since planting up to appearance of first flower in each plant. Length of stalks was also measured and length of flowering period was estimated. Flowering concentrated during summer with peaks in January and February and individuals with pendant or erect stalks were identified. Number of stalks was an important feature for the subjectively determined quality. Compact individuals with larger number of stalks being more attractive. Plants showed susceptibility to insect pests, and remained turgent even with high temperatures. Conclusion is that polymorphisms exist in the features observed and due to its rusticity M. petraea could be positioned as a low maintenance cost decorative option in commercial niches such as rock gardens, in nocturnal activity sites. Selection, a commercial fertilization program and outdoor ma
