Panoeconomicus , 2010, DOI: 10.2298/pan1004471o
Abstract: The impact of government spending on private consumption is extensively studied in the literature. However, the main theme of these studies is the possible crowding-in or crowding-out impact of government spending on consumer spending. This paper attempts to introduce a new variable to this well-known literature by investigating the existence of a relationship between government expenditure, consumer spending and consumer confidence for a group of emerging market countries. We examine whether a change in consumer confidence causes any change in government spending. Moreover, we analyze whether there is a feedback from government spending and private consumption to consumer confidence. Our empirical findings demonstrate the important role of consumer confidence on government spending and private consumption expenditures.

Abstract: Relying on the data derived from the tax registeries, tax units, census, income and Shariyya registeries of Bozok district, this article examines thefoundation of a village along with its population and social structure. The region got its name from the nomadic Bozok people of the Oguz tribes, who settled in the region. The settlement in the region continued from the second half of the 16th century to the 19th century. During this settlement process, due to various reasons some villages were gradually being discharged and new settlements appeared. One of these new settlements is the okradan town, which is currently in the ay ralan province. In the 16th century, okradan received its name from okradan Creek, which flows through arable field of Büyük üyük Viran cultivated by the Kuzuca K slal community. Probably after the second half of the 17th century the area received settlers and turned into a village.

Abstract: The objective of this study was prospective comparative determination of both clinical and neurophysiological characteristics of a new pathological reflex in CTS. The authors investigated 300 patients with severe carpal tunnel syndrome undergoing surgery. The 134 patients who showed the sign were allocated as the reflex group. The remaining 166 cases with no sign were named the control group. Two blinded neurology specialists evaluated all patients prior to and after the surgery. Their clinical data, the reflex sign and the electrophysiological results were recorded. The ligament thicknesses during surgery and postoperative changes were also recorded. The reflex group showed exaggerated symptoms with worse electrophysiological results. The reflex group also had thicker median carpal ligament in operative measurements. The difference was significant. The reflex does not disappear easily after surgery and persists up to three months. In the author’s opinion, this sign may present a new pathological reflex indicating severe long-lasting nerve compression with the requirement of surgical decompression of the median nerve in CTS subjects.

The main purposes were set as compering the level of Turkish health expenditures and as answering the question 'what is the adequate level of health expenditure in a country'. When compered the per capita health expenditures of countries, it can be observed that the differences between countries were very much and some countries spent 1% of their Gross Domestic Product (GDP) for health services while some spent more than 10%. According to country comperisions, it is also clear that there is no direct relationship between the level of health status and health expenditure. in this case, peer pressure approach, political economy approach, production function app-roach and budget approach were the tools that health policy makers might use in determinig the adequate level of health expenditures. However, the usefullnes, advantages and disadvantages of each tool differs according to countries.
