Implementation of neural network in CBIR systems with relevance feedback

Abstract: A content-based image retrieval system where an active learning strategy is used to gain relevance feedback (RF) is described. In this way retrieving process may be highly accelerated without significant degradation of accuracy Searching procedure was performed through the two basic steps: an objective one, based on the Euclidean distances and a subjective one based on the user's relevance feedback. Images recognized from user as the best matched to a query are labeled and used for updating the query feature vector through a RBF (radial basis function) neural network. In this process user change feature vector which became more refined and appropriate for future search. In practice, several iterative steps are sufficient, as confirmed by intensive simulations.
System for digitalization of medical images based on DICOM standard

Abstract: According to DICOM standard, which defines both medical image information and user information, a new system for digitalizing medical images is involved as a part of the main system for archiving and retrieving medical databases. The basic characteristics of this system are described in this paper. Furthermore, the analysis of some important DICOM header's tags which are used in this system, are presented, too. Having chosen the appropriate tags in order to preserve important information, the efficient system has been created. .
A consideration of the correct calculation of thermodynamic parameters of adsorption

Abstract: The Langmuir and Freundlich isotherm equations have been widely used for interpreting various adsorption processes. There are, however, many serious mistakes in the literature in determination or calculation of thermodynamic parameters, especially in the determination of the change in the free energy of adsorption using Langmuir, Freundlich and Henry constants. Many authors used these constants for the determination of ΔG expressed instead of dimensionless in some concentration units (for example: l mol-1, l g-1, ml mg-1, etc.).
Stress and psychological trauma in workplace and the right to compensation for non-material damage

Abstract: Many countries today are making efforts through legal measures, security enhancements and health protection to improve living and working conditions and to neutralise especially growing risks of mental health impairment in the workplace. In this paper, we are focused on the problem of traumatic stress in the working environment, giving special attention to the legislation and problems of compensation of non-material damage in court. Based on practical experience and analysis of legal provisions in our country, the questions whether the traumatic stress reaction, which occurred at work can be treated as an injury in the workplace and whether the effects of chronic stress and psychological trauma in the workplace, can fit into the concept of “work-related illnesses“ are raised. According to recent findings about traumatic stress, there is a reasonable basis for the belief that extreme stress and psychological trauma in the workplace could be considered as non-material damage, which should be compensated in accordance with the basic regulations of the Law of Compensation.

On Q-integral (3,s)-semiregular bipartite graphs

Abstract: A graph is called $Q$--integral if its signless Laplacian spectrum consists entirely of integers. We establish some general results regarding signless Laplacians of semiregular bipartite graphs. Especially, we consider those semiregular bipartite graphs with integral signless Laplacian spectrum. In some particular cases we determine the possible $Q$--spectra and consider the corresponding graphs.

Abstract: Different zirconia colloidal dispersions (sols) were prepared from zirconyl oxynitrate and zirconyl oxychloride solutions by forced hydrolysis. Vigorously stirred acidic solutions of these salts were refluxed at 102 oC for 24 h. Characterization of the obtained sols (pH, solid phase content, crystal structure) was performed by potentiometric, XRD, TGA/DTA and SEM measurements. The prepared sols contained almost spherical monoclinic hydrated zirconia particles 7–10 nm in diameter.
Determination of intrinsic equilibrium constants at an alumina/electrolyte interface

Abstract: Intrinsic ionization and complexation constants at an alumina/electrolyte interface were studied by the site binding model, while the sorption of alkali cations from aqueous solutions was interpreted by the triple-layer model. The surface properties of alumina were investigated by the potentiometric acid-base titration method. The point of zero charge (pHpzc) of alumina obtained by this method was found to be 7.2. The obtained mean values of the intrinsic protonation and ionization constants of the surface hydroxyl groups and the intrinsic surface complexation constant, in different electrolytes, are pKinta1 = 4.4, pKinta2 = 9.6 and pKintM+ = 9.5, respectively.
