Abstract: 常规光源荧光CT是一种获取元素三维分布的计算机断层扫描成像技术,该技术在癌症的早期诊断中具有重要的潜在应用价值,特别是L边荧光CT.利用蒙特卡洛方法建立了以40 kV下银靶的X射线光管原始光谱为入射光源的常规光源L边荧光CT系统.利用内嵌直径2 mm铂纳米粒子溶液的直径4 mm圆柱模体,探索了单个投影下入射光子数和投影数等因素对于荧光CT成像质量的影响能力.结果表明,单个投影下入射光子数和投影数的增加,均可以提高荧光CT图像的相对噪声比.在总入射光子数一定的情况下,投影数的减少可以有效地提高荧光CT的检测限,这为提高荧光CT系统的探测能力具有重要的意义.

Abstract: The conducting characteristics of two typical electrical trees in cross-linked polyethylene (XLPE) cable insulation are studied by a combination of optical microscopy observation, partial discharge measurement and con-focal Raman spectroscopy analysis. Although they are grown under similar conditions, these two trees display very different shapes. One is a typical branch-pine tree grown at 9 kV, and the other is a branch tree grown at 11 kV. The growth and the partial discharge regularities show obvious differences. The disordered graphitic carbon is condensed in the main tree channels of the branch-pine tree. From the relative intensity of the graphitic carbon G band to D band, the graphitic domain is estimated to be about 8 nm in size. The tree channel resistance per unit length is less than 10 Ω· μm-1, which is sufficient to prevent the partial discharge from developing within the tree structure. The branch-pine tree shows the features of the conducting tree. The fluorescence background is observed in the channels of branch tree, which shows the existence of the products of the material degradation, but no disordered graphitic carbon is observed in these tree channels. These tree channels display obvious non-conducting characteristics, which is not sufficient to prevent the continuous effect of the partial discharges. Finally, a single channel growth model is proposed for the conducting and non-conducting trees grown in XLPE cable insulation. Based on the equivalent circuit theory, the growth mechanisms of the two trees with different conducting characteristics in XLPE cable insulation are discussed.
An Improved Method of Cholesterol Determination in Egg Yolk by High Performance Liquid Chromatography

Abstract: An improved method for cholesterol determination in egg yolk is reported in this paper. Egg yolk was first diluted. Cholesterol was then extracted with ethyl ether and petroleum ether, and quantified by reversed phase liquid chromatography on a Zorbax ODS column (0.46 mm x 15 cm, 5-6 microns) using a mobile phase of acetonitrile and 2-propanol (4:1) with a flow rate of 0.6 mL/min. A linear correlation was observed between 0.05-0.40 g/L of cholesterol. The determination limit was 0.02 g/L. This proposed method of HPLC determination of egg yolk without saponification is superior to colorimetric determination on the sample with saponification, and comparable to HPLC determination with saponification of the egg yolk sample in terms of reliability. No difference in final results was observed between egg yolk sample with saponification and the same sample without saponification. Rapid and reproducible quantification of cholesterol in egg yolk can be completed with this new method. Omission of saponification has made this proposed method more convenient than those ever reported, and can be used in yolk cholesterol study with greater ease.

Abstract: The results of our early experiments show that the 2 cell block can be overcome by culturing zygote in modified M16 ,modified CZB and TE medium.Our research shows that the taurine and EDTA play key role in overcoming 2 cell block in Kunming mouse.The results show that the addition of taurine and EDTA to M16 medium can support the IVF and develoment to blastocyst in vitro in Kunming strain mice.This is the first report that M16 medium added with taurine and EDTA can be used in both IVF and culture medium to overcome the 2 cell block of embryo development in Kunming strain mouse.

Effects of transgenic tobacco with cecropin D on soil microbial communities

Abstract: The study was carried out with both random amplified polymorphic DNA (RAPD) polymorphism with which to analyze the genetic diversity of soil microbial communities and cultured-based microbiological method with which to analyze the numerical change of soil microbial communities, in order to find the difference between the soil planted with transgenic tobacco with the cecropin D gene and the soil planted with non-transgenic tobacco. The results from RAPD showed that the difference of genetic diversity related index of microbial communities in two kinds of soils was not significant. But the result from culturing and numbering showed that transgenic tobacco with the cecropin D gene significantly reduced microbial colony number. The decrement is: bacterial> fungus. Actinomycetes population was not affected. The results suggested that transgenic tobacco with the cecropin D gene may inhibit the pathogenic bacterial and the related rhizospheric microbes, but does not affect the microbial genetic diversity.

Abstract: In this paper, biosorption efficiency of heavy metals by bacteria isolated from activated sludge was tested. It was shown that Pseudomonas pseudoalcaligenes and Micrococcus luteus GC subgroup B had high biosorption capacities for Cu(II) and Pb(II) ions. The adsorption of the two ions on Pseudomonas pseudoalcaligenes and Micrococcus luteus GC subgroup B exhibited Langmuir adsorption behavior with regression coefficient of 0.99. The pH value was the most important effect factor on biosorption of metal ions. The biosorption kinetic curves of Cu(II) and Pb(II) ions by cells showed two processes: rapid sorption on cell surface and slowly longer-term transformation into cells. Cu(II) ion can be desorbed effectively from cells of Micrococcus luteus GC subgroup B.
