Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) , 2016, DOI: 10.12677/TCM.2016.54017
“The Seven Emotions” are important parts in the theoretical system of Chinese Medicine. It is the pathogenic factor and the theoretical basis of the treatment of emotional diseases as well. This paper introduced the etiology and pathogenic characteristics of “The Seven Emotions”, psycholog-ical therapy of diseases due to “The Seven Emotions” and its application in clinical disease such as cancer, coronary heart disease and depression.

Discussion about Mutual Inhibition

Wu Jiarui,Zhang Bing,Chang Zhangfu,

世界科学技术-中医药现代化 , 2005,
Abstract: Mutual inhibition is an extremely important part of the seven emotions. Its conception is not unanimous in archaic herbal books and the incompatibility of it is also disputed. Mutual inhibition was first recorded in Shen Nong's Herbal Classic, which is the earliest herbal book in China, and the unequivocal definition of mutual inhibition was first put forward in Compendium of Material Medica by Li Shizhen in Ming dynasty. It is defined that when two kinds of drugs are used together, one drug can damage or reduce the effects of the other. Nowdadys, many experts have original views about mutual inhibition. They deem that mutual inhibition has relative incompatibility, and as a relative incompatibility, Mutual inhibition has some specific characteristics.

Abstract: This paper proposed three kinds of action patterns of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) incompatibility based on the cognitions for theories of seven ways of compatibility and drug interaction. These are toxication and potentiation toxicity action pattern embodied the characteristic of antagonism, efficiency reduction and decrease effect action pattern reflected the characteristic of mutual inhibition/restraint, and toxic-effect multiple action pattern embodied the complex characteristics of antagonism and mutual inhibition/restraint. In addition, we exploringly put forward eight possible mechanisms of TCM incompatibility. They are potentiation toxicity by promoting the release of toxic substances, potentiation toxicity by producing new toxic components, potentiation toxicity because of increased toxic components resulted from mutual transformation of chemical constituents, efficiency reduction through inhibiting the dissolving of active components, efficiency reduction through inactivating the active components, toxication resulted by toxic metabolite generated in vivo based on drug interaction, adverse effects caused by affecting the physiological disposition of incompatibility combinations, and adverse effects caused by regulating and controlling the drug metabolic enzymes. Furthermore, the authors discussed the correlations between the different action patterns and mechanisms and relationships of seven ways of compatibility. These opinions would be providing references for understanding and researching the essences of TCM incompatibility.

Seven Lexical Attributes and Their Corresponding Governing Principles

Modern Linguistics (ML) , 2014, DOI: 10.12677/ML.2014.24028
The lexical pragmatic view of this thesis formulates the seven lexical attributes and their corres-ponding governing principles: expressibility plus expressibility principle, processibility plus clarity principle, relevance plus relevance principle, effortlessness plus principle of least effort, iconicity plus iconicity principle, felicity plus felicity principle, and effectiveness plus effectiveness principle. It is pointed out, however, that these attributes and their corresponding principles do not really enjoy absolute correspondence elegance, so that in actual linguistic analysis the approach of one attribute plus more than one principle, or one principle plus more than one attribute, is possible and on the other hand, any of the seven attributes can be accounted by more than one principle designated, and vice versa.
