Abstract:

We consider the initial-boundary value problem for a nonlinear wave equation with strong structural damping and nonlinear source terms in IR. We prove the global existence and uniqueness of weak solutions of the problem and then we will study the determining modes on the phase space \"\" by using energy methods and the concept of the completeness defect.

Abstract: courtship and mating behaviors of the scorpion tityus (atreus) magnimanus are herein described, consisting of various components that pertain to four distinct behavioral stages. the courtship and mating rituals of tityus (atreus) magnimanus are similar to those of other scorpions. behavioral components are presented in an ethogram to demonstrate their occurrence during mating sequences. the current report is presented as observational data that were acquired during life history studies of this species.

Abstract: the frequency of spermatophore production and the amount of time between matings for laboratory-reared males of tityus (atreus) magnimanus to regenerate spermatophores were examined. males attain sexual maturity at the fifth or sixth instar (after a period of 137 to 155 days) and can produce initial spermatophores shortly after maturation. after mating, males can regenerate spermatophores within a single 24-hour period and remate. the present contribution represents the first report on an aspect of reproductive biology in this species and is part of a continuing study of the life history and post-embryonic development of tityus (atreus) magnimanus.

Abstract: the following notes on gestation periods and litter size in seven specimens of leiurus quinquestriatus are presented as observational data. specimens of leiurus quinquestriatus from southern egypt and southern israel were mated in the laboratory during 2007; afterwards, gestation periods and litter sizes of all females were recorded. previous studies on this species reported that the gestation period ranged from 150 to 155 days and that litter size was between 12 and 99 offspring. in the present study, gestation periods in specimens from both geographic regions varied from 155 to 227 days and litter sizes were between 35 and 87 offspring. the current contribution expands on previously published data on gestation periods and supports previously reported litter size in leiurus quinquestriatus.

Abstract: Dibelius, in his commentary on the Pastoral Epistles, suggested that they represented a way-of-being in the world resulting from the delay of the parousia. As such they advocate a form of spirituality which can best be described as “good Christian citizenship”. This paper, drawing on both Taylor’s understanding of the “social imaginary” and Waaijman’s understanding of spirituality, examines Dibelius’ contention by revisiting the concept of eusebeia (godliness/piety), which is prevalent in the Pastorals, in the light of the lived experience of pagans, Jews and Christians in first-century Ephesus.

Abstract: Ever since man invented fire he has been more frequently burning himself by this creation than by the naturally occurring bushfires. It is estimated that over 1.152 million people in India suffer from burn injuries requiring treatment every year and majority of them are women aged between 16-40 years and most of them occur in the kitchen. The treatment for burns basically involves autologous skin grafting, which originated in India more than two thousand years ago (Sushruta Samhita), is still the gold standard for the wound resurfacing, although, autografting is difficult where graftable donor sites are limited. Although, Cadaver skin, porcine or bovine xenografts are used alternatively over the past thirty years, modern approaches like the Bioengineering of skin substitutes emerged during the past 20 years as advanced wound management technologies with no social impediment. They can be broadly categorized as Acellular and Cellular biotechnological products. The acellular products like Alloderm (LifeCell Corporation), Integra (Integra Life Sciences) act like template and depend on natural regeneration, while the cellular ones are either ‘Off-the-Shelf’ products like Apligraf (Organogenesis Inc) and Orcel (Ortec International) have allogenic elements and ‘home grown’ autologous cell products like Cultured Epithelial Autograft (CEA) and epidermal-dermal composite skin use synthetic or natural non-human matrices. The CEA is based on the ex-vivo epidermal stem cell-expansion and our laboratory has been engaged in CEA technique development with innovative cost-effective approach and yielded promising preliminary clinical success. The basic methodological approach in CEA technique which is still clinically adopted by several developed countries involves the use of growth arrested mouse dermal fibroblasts as growth supportive matrix and is thus considered a drawback as a whole. Additionally, there is no superior enough method available to augment the growth of human keratinocyte stem cells capable of producing epithelia for large-scale grafting in burns and maintain long-term functionality as a self-renewing tissue. The normal functioning of such an in vitro constructed graft under long-term artificial growth conditions is limited by the difficulties of maintaining the epidermal stem cell compartment. An apparent answer to this problem of stem cell depletion during autograft preparation would be to start with a pure population of progenitor stem cells and derive sustainable autograft from them. Optimisation of the baluba east ore treatment

Abstract: The Baluba east concentrator is part of the Roan Antelope Mining Corporation (RAMCO) which is a unit of the Binani Group of Companies. It treats an ore which is a mixture of sulphide and oxide copper minerals. In the flotation of mixed sulphide - oxide ores, the sulphide minerals are floated first, then followed by a sulphidisation step of the oxide minerals to effect their flotation. This test work was carried out because of a decrease in the grades and recoveries obtainable during the period of January 1998 up to around September 1998. This was so despite having an above average head grade of 1.91%Tcu. The optimum mesh of grind was found to be 65% passing 75 ìm using release analysis and the conclusions were drawn on the basis of flotation kinetics. The optimisation of reagents addition was done using a FACTORIAL DESIGN of experiments to improve the reliability of the result and Analysis of Variance(ANOVA) and the F-test were used to draw meaningful conclusions. Dosages of 120g/t collector (SIPX) and 100 g/t conditioner (NaHS) were obtained as the optimum reagent levels. The associated concentrate grade was 6.10%TCu (without a cleaning stage) at a recovery of 90.16%TCu. This adjustment in reagent consumption rates, if effected, would introduce a 10% reduction in collector consumption and a 50% reduction in conditioner consumption, which clearly indicates a significant reduction in the overall costs of reagents per tonne ore treated.
Biblical Theories of the History of Prophetism in Old Testament: An Ethical Monotheistic Approach

Abstract: This paper presents biblical theories of the history of prophetism in Israel as regards its ethical-monotheism. As apostasy reared its head, both in the kings and among the nation-Israel, the relationship between the kings and prophets was strained. Prophets and kings stood over against each other. The keynote of prophecy having become the message of overthrow, the kings, who naturally believed in the consideration of what existed, could not fail to regard the prophets with suspicion and antagonism. The prophets were from their standpoint lacking in patriotism, in fact traitors. The contrast between true and false prophets begins to play a role. Ethical-monotheism is an ethical conception of Jehovah giving rise to monotheism. The proper examination of these problems engages the aim of this paper. The method of approach is historical with the review of relevant literature or literary analyses.
