HYBRIS : Revista de Filsofía , 2012,
Abstract: The presented theme is developed in the volume Ontologia della libertà. Il male e la sofferenza, in which Luigi Pareyson deeply rethink the problem of liberty, articulated through a decisive confrontation, whose ontological and hermeneutic root, puts itself in relation with the Hebrew-Christian “myth”. However, is inside the person’s experience crystallized in human existence that occurs the confrontation between philosophy and religion presented on the already alluded volume. Nevertheless, the sought for freedom is the reveling speculation of Pareyson’s effort to respond to evil and suffering experience that signs the human existence; it is, in fact, the trodden search since the first investigations about the existence philosophy as crisis philosophy, in our time, in which inserts the person’s singularity in its historical concreteness, both in fullness and variety of its manifestations El presente artículo se fundamenta en el libro Ontologia della libertà.

Abstract: The purpose of the present text is to bring into light brief considerations concerning forming as “doing” that, while it does, it invents the “way of doing it”: an aesthetic perspective in Luigi Pareyson, for whom, “production is, at the same time and indivisibly, invention”. The personal interpretation is the making evident of the work itself, that is, giving, revealing, pulling the curtain of the work in itself. Interpreting is in agreement with Pareyson, in itself, always personal; however, it is just one form among many other possible ones. The plurality of interpretations should not be considered a disadvantage; far from being a “defect” it is already a revelation of the inexorability of human thought. When conceiving the interpretation as singular, it is evidenced the historicity of thinkers context and personality. We will begin with some considerations concerning aesthetics, and treat about the form as execution and the forming as experiment freewards.

Abstract: Background: Gastroesophageal varices are the most common and clinically important part of the portosys-temic collaterals due to their tendency to rupture and cause massive gastrointestinal bleeding. Objective The aim of this work was to evaluate retrospectively the incidence and the factors of prediction for the treatment of bleeding by gastroesophageal varices in the patients attended in the Emergency Room of the Hospital State University of Campinas (Brazil) from the last ten years. Methods: The method used here consisted of a descriptive and retrospective study carried out from the analyses of the medical records of 769 patients with upper gastrointestinal bleeding of which 220 were admitted because of upper gastrointestinal bleeding caused by gastroesophageal varices during this same period. Results: The results showed that the gastroe-sophageal varices appeared in 28.6% of the patients and they were the second most common cause of upper gastrointestinal bleeding. While evaluating factors such as age, sex and the common individual records, it was proved that this disease occurs mainly among people between the third and the fifth decade of life, with the great majority of cases occurring in the fourth decade (29.2%), of which 76.8% were male. There was an association of hematemesis and melena in the admission of 57.7% of the patients and even ascites was a common diagnosis in 48.2% of them. Most of these patients (40%) were classified as Child class B at admis-sion. The early endoscopic exam was used for 96.8% of them and showed the presence of F3 varices in 38.5%, CB varices in 25.1% and RCS varices in 12.6%. Most of these varices (41.5%) were situated in the distal third of the esophagus. The most used pharmacological treatment was based on octreotide in 45.9% of the patients. They received 0.05 mg of intravenous octreotide and a maintenance dose of 1 mg per day in 98.6% of the cases, with efficacy in 74.2% of the patients. The tamponade with Sengstaken-Blakemore tube was applied in 30.5% of the patients, but it was observed that 69.7% of them did not present any consider-able progress and this situation led to their death. The endoscopic treatment was performed in 41.8% of the patients with efficacy in 81.5% of them. The sclerotherapy was used for 60.9% of the studied cases with Ethamolin® being the most used for sclerosing. Emergency surgery was used in just 8.6% of the patients studied and it controlled the bleeding in 78.9% of the cases. Conclusion: We concluded that gastroesophag-eal bleeding was an important cause of upper

Abstract: This article provides a presentation of the method used to guarantee the accessibility and usability of an online course for blind women. The course discusses breast cancer with a focus on early detection, with a view to granting these women a new form of learning about breast cancer. In this paper, the evaluation of the accessibility of HTML pages was presented by the use of specific software. In addition, it presents the accessibility and usability for blind women in a course in a virtual learning environment. The accessibility evaluation using the software revealed 21 errors. When the blind women accessed the virtual learning environment, sporadic barriers were identified, such as difficulties for registering and using the forum. These were bypassed and the participants defined the access to the online course as satisfactory. This study aims to bring awareness to online education and health professionals about the accessibility of online courses. With regard to health promotion, the importance of this study is clear owing to the lack of educational resources in health for visually impaired people, in addition to the importance of the timeliness of the topic owing to the magnitude of the issue of breast cancer around the world.

Abstract: the social prestige of professions with higher education, exercised by social assistants, biologists, dentists, nurses, engineers, pharmacists, physicists, physiotherapists, phonoaudiologists, physicians, chemists and sociologists, was scaled by using both the indirect ordering method and the direct psychophysical category and magnitude estimation methods. the results showed: (1) high correlation (rho = 0.97) between the prestige levels attributed to the professions, obtained by the three psychophysical methods, (2) the non-metric continuum of professional prestige exhibited prothetic characteristics (rho = 0.96); (3) the relationship between the magnitude estimates and category estimates is a semi-logarithmic function, and (4) the variability of magnitudes estimates, indicated by the standard error of geometric mean, was a linear function of the geometric mean of the magnitude estimates, thus confirming that ekman's law is also valid for non-metric continua. in short, the data showed that the scale of social prestige possesses quantitative or prothetic characteristics, and not qualitative or metathetic ones.
