de la Pea Pino,Roberto R.;
Revista Cubana de Investigaciones Biom??dicas , 2002,
Abstract: an analysis was made taking as a compulsory reference the set of the most important laws and regulations put into effect by the member countries of the european community that have also created working groups in charge of the flow of information of any type, including the new legislations, use of alternatives and the control of the procedures in the experiments, among other functions. it was also included what was established by canada and the united states and, on referring to cuba, it is explained what has been done up to now as regards the use of animals by a series of measurements taken by the center of production of laboratory animals. the specific situation of the research and teaching centers of medical sciences was approached, making emphasis on the most common deficiencies that may appear as a result of an inadequate application of the ethic principles and of the secondary resolutions of the council of international medical sciences organizations. finally, the steps to be taken by the ethic committee in each center and by the national medical ethic commission are suggested in order to face the negative aspects.

Abstract: This study has the objective to describe academic work quality and work environment of Autonomous University of Baja California South, in Mexico, from the teacher’s perspective. We used a quantitative, non-experimental, cross-sectional, descriptive method (Hernández, Fernández, & Baptista, 2014). We applied, electronically, a structured survey based on the change instruments and organizational environment designed by Kraut (1996). The analysis categories were academic work, work environment, college life, and decision making in the institution. The sample was non-probabilistic, of opportunity, obtaining the participation of 107 teachers of many campus located in the cities of La Paz, Cabo San Lucas, Loreto, Ciudad Insurgentes, and Guerrero Negro. The data analysis technique was descriptive, and processed in an electronic system corresponding to year 2013. The results showed a high commitment of teachers to values and principles of the Institutions (94.4%), strengthening their identity and belonging to the Institution.
MRI-Brachytheraphy of Cervical Carcinoma—A Pictorial Review for the Radiologist  [PDF]

Open Journal of Radiology (OJRad) , 2012, DOI: 10.4236/ojrad.2012.23015
Abstract: Exact staging of cervical malignant neoplasms is essential in the selection of the most favorable therapy. MR imaging plays a comprehensive role in primary tumor staging. It monitors response to treatment, detects recurrence and helps in the planning of radiotherapy. Patients with advanced disease usually receive external-beam radiation therapy followed by intracavitary brachytherapy with concurrent chemotherapy. Brachytherapy based on cross-sectional imaging, especially MR imaging, improves local control and overall survival. MRI-based brachytherapy allows accurate positioning of the probe and the depiction of the tumor volume contour, which also permits individualized treatment planning. In order to obtain successful radiation treatment, the radiologist must provide the radiation oncologist with adequate knowledge regarding this technique and its possible complications.
