Abstract: rhinophyma is a progressively growing benign tumor that has the ability to distort the nasal form. even though, it is considered a rare subtype of rosacea, it is of great importance for the ability to create: psychic, aesthetic and functional disorders. this report describes a severe case of rhinophyma in a 52 years old male patient, the medical treatment and the surgical technique used for removal.

Abstract: El Rinofima es un tumor benigno de crecimiento progresivo con la capacidad de provocar severas alteraciones en la morfología nasal. Es considerado un subtipo de rosácea poco frecuente, sin embargo, es de gran relevancia por su capacidad de crear trastornos tanto estéticos como funcionales y psicológicos en las personas afectadas. Este reporte describe un caso severo de rinofima, en un paciente de género masculino de 52 a os, el tratamiento médico y la técnica quirúrgica que se utilizó para su remoción. Abstract: mucoepidermoid carcinomas of the salivary glands are frequent lesions that account for 15% of all salivary gland tumors, they are very infrequent in the mandible, with less than 200 cases reported and known as central mucoepidermoide carcinoma. the pathogenesis of this intraosseous tumor is still controversial. several theories of their pathogenesis have been postulated: 1) entrapment of retromolar mucous glands within the mandible, 2) maxilla sinusepithelium, 3) iatrogenic entrapment of minor salivary glands (chronic osteomielitis or sinusitis, 4) dental lamina remnants, 5) developmentally included embryonic remnants of submandibular glands within the mandible, 6) neoplastic transformation of mucus-secreting cells in the epithelial lining of odontogenic cysts. we present the case of man with a central mucoepidermoide carcinoma and review of the literature of this uncommon condition.

Abstract: El carcinoma mucoepidermoide de glándula salival es un tumor frecuente; constituye el 15% de los tumores de dicha estructura. Sin embargo, en la mandíbula son mucho menos frecuentes (menos de 200 casos reportados) y se le conoce como carcinoma mucoepidermoide central. La patogenia de este tumor intraóseo sigue siendo controversial. Al igual que otros carcinomas intaóseos primarios, puede tener varios orígenes: 1) atropamiento de glándulas mucosas retromolares en la mandíbula, 2) epitelio del seno maxilar, 3) atropamiento iatrogénico de glándula salival menor (ej. en una osteomielitis o sinusitis crónica), 4) remanentes de lámina dental, 5) remanentes de tejido de glándula salival en la mandíbula, 6) transformación neoplásica de células mucosecretoras en el epitelio de revestimiento de quistes odontogénicos. Se presenta el caso de un hombre con un carcinoma mucoepidermoide central de la mandíbula y se hace una revisión del tema. Bloch-like oscillations induced by charge discreteness in quantum mesoscopic rings

Abstract: We study the effect of charge discreteness in a quantum mesoscopic ring wih inductance L. The ring is pierced by a time depending external magnetic field. When the external magnetic flux varies uniformly, the current induced in the ring oscillates with a frequency proportional to the charge discreteness and the flux variation. This phenomenon is very similar to the well known Bloch's oscillation in crystals. The similitude is related to the charge discreteness in the charge-current representation, which plays the same role as the constant lattice in crystals.
The exact solution of the asymmetric exclusion problem with particles of asrbitrary size: matrix product ansatz

Abstract: the exact solution of the asymmetric exclusion problem and several of its generalizations is obtained by a matrix product ansatz. due to the similarity of the master equation and the schrodinger equation at imaginary times the solution of these problems reduces to the diagonalization of a one dimensional quantum hamiltonian. initially, we present the solution of the problem when an arbitrary mixture of molecules, each of then having an arbitrary size (s = 0; 1; 2; ...) in units of lattice spacing, diffuses asymmetrically on the lattice. the solution of the more general problem where we have the diffusion of particles belonging to n distinct classes of particles (c = 1; ... ; n), with hierarchical order and arbitrary sizes, is also presented. our matrix product ansatz asserts that the amplitudes of an arbitrary eigenfunction of the associated quantum hamiltonian can be expressed by a product of matrices. the algebraic properties of the matrices defining the ansatz depend on the particular associated hamiltonian. the absence of contradictions in the algebraic relations defining the algebra ensures the exact integrability of the model. in the case of particles distributed in n > 2 classes, the associativity of this algebra implies the yang-baxter relations of the exact integrable model.

The Bethe ansatz as a matrix product ansatz

Abstract: The Bethe ansatz in its several formulations is the common tool for the exact solution of one dimensional quantum Hamiltonians. This ansatz asserts that the several eigenfunctions of the Hamiltonians are given in terms of a sum of permutations of plane waves. We present results that induce us to expect that, alternatively, the eigenfunctions of all the exact integrable quantum chains can also be expressed by a matrix product ansatz. In this ansatz the several components of the eigenfunctions are obtained through the algebraic properties of properly defined matrices. This ansatz allows an unified formulation of several exact integrable Hamiltonians. We show how to formulate this ansatz for a huge family of quantum chains like the anisotropic Heisenberg model, Fateev-Zamolodchikov model, Izergin-Korepin model, $t-J$ model, Hubbard model, etc.
