Characteristics of sewage sludge and distribution of heavy metal in plants with amendment of sewage sludge

Abstract: In order to better understand land application of sewage sludge, the characterization of heavy metals and organic pollutants were investigated in three different sewage sludges in Shanghai City, China. It was found that the total concentrations of Cd in all of sewage sludge and total concentrations of Zn in Jinshan sewage sludge, as well as those of Zn, Cu, and Ni in Taopu sludge are higher than Chinese regulation limit of pollutants for sludge to be used in agriculture. Leachability of Hg in all of studied samples and that of Cd in Taopu sewage sludge exceed the limit values of waste solid extraction standard in China legislation. Based on the characteristics for three kinds of sewage sludge, a pot experiment was conducted to investigate the effect of soil amended with Quyang sewage sludge on the accumulation of heavy metal by Begonia semperflorens-hybr; Ophiopogon japonicus (L.F.) Ker-Gaw; Loropetalum chindense-var. rubrum; Dendranthema morifolium; Viola tricolor; Antirrhinum majus; Buxus radicans Sieb; Viburnum macrocephalum; Osmanthus fragrans Lour; Cinnamomum camphora siebold and Ligustrum lucidum ait. Results showed that 8 species of plant survived in the amended soil, and moreover they flourished as well as those cultivated in the control soil. The heavy metal concentration in plants varied with species, As, Pb, Cd and Cr concentration being the highest in the four herbaceous species studied, particularly in the roots of D. morifolium. These plants, however, did not show accumulator of As, Pb, Cd and Cr. The highest concentration of Ni and Hg was found in the roots of D. morifolium, followed by the leaves of B. semperflorens-hybr. Levels of Zn and Cu were much higher in D. morifolium than in the other plant species. D. morifolium accumulated Ni, Hg, Cu and Zn, which may contribute to the decrease of heavy metal contents in the amended soil. Treatment with sewage sludge did not significantly affect the uptake of heavy metals by the L. chindense-var. rubrum, however, it significantly affected the uptake of heavy metals by D. morifolium.
Fuzzy Entropy Triple I Methods for FMP and FMT Problems and Their Reductivity

Abstract: In this paper, the existence conditions of solutions are discussed for fuzzy entropy triple I methods of FMP(Fuzzy Modus Ponens) problem and FMT(Fuzzy Modus Tollens) problem, the relations between triple I solution and fuzzy entropy triple I solution are studied, obtains general computing formulas of fuzzy entropy triple I method based on residual form implication operator of triangle norm. Furthermore, it is proved that fuzzy entropy triple I methods of FMP problem and FMT problem are reductive algorithms under some conditions.

Abstract: The concentrations of hexachlorocyclohexane (HCHs), dichlorodiphenyltrichloroethane (DDTs), and polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDEs) in muscle, liver and brain of ducks from Baiyangdian Lake were determined by gas chromatography coupled with mass spectrometer (GC/MS). The results showed that the concentrations of HCHs, DDTs and PBDEs in various tissues of ducks were in the range of 0.9-5.0 ng/g wet weight (WW), 0.3-2.8 ng/g (WW) and 0.03-0.65 ng/g (WW), respectively. Statistical analysis indicated that the accumulation of DDTs and PBDEs in muscle, liver and brain was significantly different (p < 0.05), but not with HCHs (p > 0.05). Liver tissues contained the highest DDTs and PBDEs levels, with average concentrations of 2.3 ng/g (WW) and 0.37 ng/g (WW), respectively. Among the HCH isomers and DDT metabolites, beta-HCH was the predominant isomers in liver and brain tissues, and p,p'-DDE was the dominant metabolites of DDTs in various tissues. Among the PBDE congeners, BDE47 and BDE99 were the predominant in various tissues. The different profiles of persistent organohalogen compounds in various tissues of ducks may reflect that the Baiyangdian Lake still subject to the contamination of historically residue for HCHs and DDTs. In addition, the source of PBDEs was partly attributed to the industrial pollution, chemical plants, and sewage discharging.

Abstract: Fuzzy controllers and their response functions are studied which are based on 21 commonly used fuzzy implication operators.Fuzzy controllers based on irregular implication operators in the 21 ones are regarded as some interpolation functions so that these controllers are universal approximators and are equivalent to each other.Except for Zadeh operator,fuzzy controllers based on regular implication operators in the 21 ones are not universal approximators,they are controllers with only step output ability.

Abstract: This paper introduced the algorithms of SAR image location on the basis of image processing. And the precision of location is analyzed by the simulated datum and Radarsat slant image. The result indicated that the terrain variation, orbit measurement and echo pulse delay are the main factors which influenced the location precision. To Radarsat image, the location precision can attain 600-800m.

Abstract: 以系统动力学为框架研究短信的引导与管理,通过系统分析短信产业链结构,建立描述各要素相互作用的短信产业链系统动力学仿真模型,并用VENSIM PLE 5.4C对建立的模型进行运行和控制,得出短信产业链上运营商应为监管重点的结论.之后,利用模型对手机实名制和SP号码统一等短信相关的政策进行仿真模拟,得出两者都能达到减少不良短信的结论.本文的贡献在于,采用系统动力学建模分析短信产业链,并通过模拟仿真来试验性地论证短信监管的政策.

Abstract: Upper union bounds of turbo codes for maximal ratio combining (MRC) diversity systems are presented in this paper. The simplified expression of error integral function is used to derive the precise expressions of pairwise error probability for MRC receivers wherein the probabilities of slow fading multichannel come from different distribution families. The numerical analysis and simulations performed over Rayleigh channel demonstrate that the theoretical analysis conforms to the simulations. It is concluded that the derived expressions can be generally used for the performance estimation of MRC multichannel receivers with different fading statistics.

Abstract: Image thresholding is one of the classical, simple, and very effective techniques for image segmentation, and has been widely studied. This paper proposed an approach for image thresholding based on cellular neural network (CNN) associated with histogram analysis, and gave an automatic searching algorithm of threshold needed by threshold CNN. Experimental results show that the proposed approach obtains better segmenting results than other two classical methods.

Abstract: Using the real-space renormalization group transformation method, critical behavior of the Gaussian model on two-dimension and %d%-dimension (%d%>2) X fractal lattices is studied. The results show that, at the critical point, the nearest-neighbor interaction parameter can be expressed in the form %K+*=b q-i/q-i(q-i% is the coordination number of site %i, b q-i% is the Gaussian distribution constant of site %i%), which is the same as that of other fractal lattices, and that the critical exponent %v% is associated with the space dimension %d% (or the fractal dimension %d%-f). They are much different from those of the Ising model on X fractal lattices.
