Neurotropic Effect Mechanism of Target on Peripheral Nerve Regeneration

Abstract: The neurotropic effect of the distal stump of transected sciatic nerve on regenerating neurites emerging from the proximal stump was investigated in rats by the co culture of excised dorsal root ganglia and segments of degenerated and nondegenerated sciatic nerves.In all cultures,neurites from the ganglion extended directly towards the degenerated distal stump and not towards the undegenerated nerve segment.Analysis of the supernatants of nerve homogenate by native polyacrylamidegel electrophoresis demonstrated that 235 and 18?kDa proteins were upregulated in the degenerated distal stumps and that 90 and 65?kDa special proteins were expressed by these stumps but not by normal nerve.Placement of the individual protein strips in dissociated cultures of dorsal root ganglion cells showed that the 90?kDa strips possessed strong neurotropic activity.Neurons survived selectively on these strips and outgrowing neurites elongated on the strips paralled to the direction of the band.It is concluded that these bands contain chemotropic substances,the nature of which requires further investigation.

Abstract: In view of multi-criteria stochastic network equilibrium with fixed demand and discrete value of time, the multi-class, multi-criteria stochastic system optimum and optimal tolling problem are considered, in time and cost respectively. Two stochastic system optimization models are established on the basis of cost and time, respectively. Also the uniqueness conditions of their solutions and equivalent variational inequality problems are obtained. The feasibility of the first order best toll is studied. Since the first order best toll is not suitable for time-based stochastic system optimum, an optimization model is presentedto find the feasible toll pattern. Finally, an example is shown.

Abstract: In the present study,the effects of postnatal development on the number and distribution of skeletal muscle fibers of different types in hind leg of rat and rabbit were studied.The soleus muscles of rats aged 2 days,2,4,6,8,and 10 weeks (body weight 10,32,95,190,280,and 320 g),and rabbits aged 2 days,2,4,8,12,16,20,and 24 weeks (body weight 100,220,400,750,1 200,1 600,2 100,and 2 500 g) were stained with succinic dehydrogenase.With an image analysis system,the X-Y coordinates of fibers were used to analyze the growth-related changes.The results of present study showed that three types of fibers were found in the soleus muscles of rat and rabbit,i.e.,type Ⅰ (slow oxidative),ⅡX (fast oxidative),and ⅡA (fast oxidative glycolytic).The type Ⅰ fibers were present throughout the muscle that had a uniform distribution and tended to increase in number with aging.Type ⅡX fibers were scattered throughout the muscle and decreased markedly in number with aging.Type ⅡA fibers were located at the central and deep regions,and showed a little or no change in number and distribution with aging.While be of age,type ⅡA and ⅡX fibers became restricted to the superficial region.No type ⅡB fibers were detected.Type ⅡA fibers had the largest diameter,type Ⅰ intermediate and type ⅡX the smallest.Mean cross-sectional area of each type fibers of rabbits was larger than that of rats.The present results indicate that the number and distribution of muscle fibers of different types in hind limb of rat and rabbit change with the process of postnatal growth.
The Port Competitive Strategies with Network Externality

Abstract: In this paper,we constructed a selection model based on Hotelling model to express forwarders' behavior.We further analyse the relationship among port's network externality,competition,service quality and port pricing strategy and service strategy.We found the port's optimal price is lower with network externality,which fierce the competition.Ports' service quality could be substitute and the port with lower marginal service cost prefer to higher service level.When the rate of sea transport and land transport increased,the port can use positive pricing strategy to gain more profit.

Abstract: A three-level competitive supply chain network equilibrium model with multi-commodity is studied in consideration of the product differentiation of region and brand.Stochastic utility theory and multinomial logit model are used to analyze stochastic choice in demand market,while the influence of region and brand is treated as stochastic variable.Competitive behavior of manufactures and retailers is analyzed by using Nash equilibrium theory.The equilibrium models of each level and whole network are developed by variational inequality method,along with their equilibrium conditions and economic interpretations.Finally,an algorithm is put forward and applied to solving a numerical example.
