Abstract:

The coordination of industry structure and employment structure is a sign and the guarantee of healthy development of the national economy. This paper analyzes the industry structure and employment structure coordination degree’s evolution and spatial pattern with deviation index. In conclusion, the relationship between industry structure and employment structure of the first industry in China is inharmonious; and the more developed economy does not mean that the relationship between the industrial structure and employment structure is more harmonious.

Building Result-Based Accountability in an Organization  [PDF]

Abstract: The suggested approach can serve as a guide for building accountability, which promotes successful attainment of a desired organizational goal. The approach provides for the involvement of the largest possible number of employees working toward a result. First, a result structure for attaining an organizational goal is formed through the establishment of interrelation between corresponding tasks, determined by detailed elaboration of the sequential actions. Next, an accountability structure combining accountability levels, structural measures of accountability for the results of performing tasks, and skills relevant to each task is created. Third, the accountability structure and the reward conditions for acceptance of accountability for task performance are declared in an organization. Fourth, the tasks to be performed by employees are chosen, for which employees are to be held accountable as task performers or as task collaborators. The choice is realized by examination of the accountability structure and self-assessment of employee skills. Accountability acceptance is adjusted by the limitations. Fifth, the individual choices of employees are coordinated through discussion among employees with the participation of managers. As a result, heterogeneous collaborative teams to perform the tasks are formed through all levels organizational structure. Finally, building result-based accountability in an organization is completed through the flexible rewarding of employees for accountability acceptance. The reward is divided according to principle: The bigger the measure of accepted accountability is, the greater the reward the employees receive. The flexibility of reward correlates to adjustment of the size of the reward with regard to the roles of employees in task performance and the accountability measure of the employees.

Abstract: Ab initio restricted Hartree-Fock method within the framework of large unit cell formalism is used to investigate the band structure of AlSb nanoclusters. Large unit cells of 8, 16, 54, 64 and 128 atoms are used to analyze the cohesive energy, energy gap, valence bandwidth, and the density of states of the energy levels for AlSb nanoclusters. The results of the present work revealed that the band structure of AlSb nanoclusters differs significantly from that of the bulk AlSb crystal. Also, it is found that the valence band width and the cohesive energy (absolute value) increase as the AlSb crystal size increases, and they tend to stabilize for nanoclusters of more than 50 atoms.

Abstract: The purpose of this paper is to present the use of fuzzy logic to improve the calculation of weighted average cost of capital (WACC). The fuzzy WACC approach not only allows the pre-tax cost of debt, the effective tax rate, the tax benefit, and cost of equity to be treated as fuzzy numbers, it also offers ranking means to find the optimal debt ratio. This paper contributes to the literature by offering alternative methods to calculate the WACC and the optimal debt ratio for firms under uncertainty. Compared with the traditional WACC, the fuzzy WACC model can overcome the problems pertinent to uncertainty, complexity and imprecision. This paper thus sheds light on capital structure decision making.

Abstract:

In order to have a balanced judgment on language process views, the research tries to explain the mental process connection in the language learning process. The deep structure and surface structure theory designation indicated that the learning process consists of two procedures: deep structure process, which is the essential part in absorbing and captivating activities and surface structure which concentrates on symbols and codes in expressing the mind’s activities. These procedures have been emphasized by modern and traditional scholars in highlighting the concept of the language learning process.

The Analysis of the Chinese Phrasal VR Constructions from the Perspective of Event Structure Theory  [PDF]

Abstract: There is a kind of Chinese VR (verb-resultative) constructions in which the meanings of verb and complement (stands as the “result”) are relatively independent and decomposable. We call it “phrasal VR construction”. Syntactic structures of this kind are various. The semantic orientations of complements are complicated. And there are some grammatical phenomena that have not been explained yet. After choosing four typical Chinese VR structures (“哭累” (cry-tired, being tired from crying), “哭湿” (cry-wet, being wet from crying), “洗累” (wash-tired, being tired from washing), and “推倒” (push over)), this article first described them in accordance with Levin & Rappaport’s event structure theory, and summarized the principles of the three participants’ prominence and recession. Then the article, by analyzing the projection process from the event structure to the syntactic structure, found the correspondence between the participants and the syntactic elements. Finally it gave interpretations to the unexplained grammatical phenomena.

Abstract: The polycrystalline spinel oxides NiX?Co1-X?Fe2O4 with composition x = 0.0, 0.2, 0.4, 0.6, 0.8 and 1.0 were prepared by conventional solid state ceramic sintering technique in air at 1300°C. X-ray diffraction experiments were carried out on all the samples at room temperature in order to characterize the materials. X-ray diffraction patterns showed sharp peaks indicating the formation of single phase cubic spinel structure. The neutron diffraction experiments were performed on all samples at room temperature, with an incident monochromatic neutron beam of wavelength λ = 1.5656 Å. The experimental neutron diffraction data were analyzed using the computer program FullProf in the Reitveld method. Reitveld refinement of the neutron diffraction data reveals that the samples possess cubic symmetry corresponding to the space group F d-3m. Cation distribution between the two sublattices of the spinel structure has been found from the analysis of the neutron diffraction data. Lattice parameters, oxygen position parameters, and overall temperature factors have also been determined from the analysis of neutron diffraction data. The lattice parameter decreases and oxygen position parameter increases with increasing Ni content in the system. Sublattices and net magnetic moments have been determined from the refinement of neutron diffraction data. The magnetic structure at room temperature was found to be ferrimagnetic for all the samples.
